If the Top 5 Tourist Attractions in NZ by
visitor number are;

1. Milford Sound
2. Bay of Islands
3. Tongariro National Park
4. Rotorua
5. Franz Josef Glacier

and visitor numbers are currently
between 850,000 (Milford) and
650,000 (Franz) per annum.

Then it is just a matter of activity and
experience to scale to that level.

After all, its only 2000 people a day 

WITH RAIL TOURS, JET BOATING AND THE FORGOTTEN
WORLD MOTEL YOU HAVE CREATED ALREADY A VERY
SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS.

IS A GREATER DEMOGRAPHIC RANGE THE ANSWER TO
MAKING THAT BUCKET BIGGER AND GETTING IT ON
MORE PEOPLE’S LISTS?

Would attracting
the Kiwi young
professional
earlier in life be
an answer?
Perhaps a
weekend
wedding
experience. Get
them while their
income is still on
the rise and
have them come
back to relive
good time. This
is one possible
answer.

Could we make more use of the
areas beautiful outdoors,
hunting and adventure and build
off existing local attractions by
adding in mountain bikes
(perhaps electric), low tech
outdoor activities like Zorbing
(all you need is a hill), Bowtag
(safer and hurts less than
paintball but just as fun) or
electric canoes (just a thought)
and meal packages of locally
sourced produce.

The ability to provide a world
class all in one (because people
are generally lazy) experience
that will keep clients not only
coming back, but referring. A
sure fire recipe to growth.

Possibly another area to take a look at?

Over 200 million citizens < 60 years of age.
An increasingly affluent middle class and a
culture of their children supporting them
financially.
Attracting a greater number of Chinese
tourists, of all ages can be as simple as
providing:-

1. Organised group tours
2. Chinese speaking staff
3. High speed internet
4. 24 hour food
5. Local shows in Chinese.

Some big calls there I know, especially when I
know next to nothing about your business. But
I know how to analyse it, work out better ways
and generate greater profit.

Bite off more than you can chew and just keep
chewing, I say.
