Our History
Established in 1964, Hunting C
reek Country Club is set in the
rolling hills of Kentucky, south of the Ohio River. The club offers a
host of year-round amenities, including a 7,157-yard golf course
originally designed by club member Ben Wihry. Holt Golf Design
led a complete tee-to-green course renovation that was
completed in 2010. The renovation focused on improving the
routing and updating hazard locations and green slopes to
accommodate the advancements in technology and golf
equipment. Throughout its history, the course has hosted nearly
every major tournament in the state, including the Kentucky
Amateur and the Kentucky Open.
2020 Renovation
The Club has just completed a 4.5-million-dollar renovation to accommodate
it's growing members. Members can no
w enjoy a broader range of amenities
and features across the club, including a brand new junior Olympic size pool,
two golf simulators, 24-hour fitness facility, 2 new bars, 2 new dining facilities,
new pro shop, updated lobby, updated banquet facilities, new patio, updated
playground and new pickleball courts.
The golf course and member amenities are spectacular. The Troon Privé team
is a big asset for members to further enhancement of their membership
experience and benefits. With the completion of the clubhouse enhancements,
it is an exciting time at Hunting Creek.

18-hole Championship Golf Course
At Hunting Creek, it’s no secret that ou
r 7,157-yard Championship Golf Course is
our pride and joy. During our history, the course has hosted nearly every major
tournament in the state. Since opening in 1964, the course has earned a
reputation as one of the most challenging in Kentucky. It also enjoys acclaim as
one of the most beautiful. Ingeniously designed by landscape architect and
Hunting Creek member Ben Wihry, no two holes adjoin. This has allowed for
wide, tree-lined fairways and the long green-to-tee drives that give the course
its “out in the country” feel. All season-long, but especially in the fall, the view of
Indiana forest from the elevated 13th tee is simply spectacular. Over the years,
the course’s glorious natural setting has been preserved and enhanced by the
planting of trees, now mature, that make every hole a vision for the eyes and a
balm for the spirit.

JR League PGA
PGA Junior League is a program to introduce your kid
s to the game of golf and help to hone their skills in
a team environment. It is an opportunity to get on course education with our coaches Ben Fulkerson,
PGA, Anna Walker, and Brandon Tereshko. HCCC members ages 7-13 are welcome to join the team.
Players will get out onto golf courses in matches with other area country clubs. The matches are stress
free and a time for the kids to get comfortable playing, with the rules of golf, and an opportunity to use
the skills they learn on the range.
The matches are 2 person scrambles from yardages set to their playing ability and against competitors of
comparable playing ability where parents and coaches can help the kids throughout their matches. Most
importantly, PGA JR League is to introduce golf to encourage fun.
Hunting Creek is opening 3 teams this year. We’ve been lucky to have large teams the last two years and
want to open more opportunities for players to join. The additional team will also ensure that we have
more flexibility to match players up by their skill level and comfort on the course.
Registration is extremely simple! Go to pgajrleague.com and enter the zip code 40059. On the list you will
find the Hunting Creek Country Club team. The registration code is: HCCC2021. We are open to 36 players
this year.
Entry fee for PGA JR League is $350. Upon Registering on the PGA JR League website, you will be
charged $75 payable to PGA JR League to order their 2 team Jerseys, Tee Shirt, and Hat. The remaining
balance will be billed through the club to the parent’s member accounts. The registration fee goes to the
cost of team practices with the coaches, support during the matches, scheduling, coach trainings, and
child protection trainings. The coaches additionally provide waters and snacks throughout the year and
host an End of the Year Pizza Party for the teams.
Please, find the dates below for planned practices and matches. Remember that there could be some
variation due to inclement weather, but we will keep parents informed and reschedule matches as soon
as possible. If you have any questions, or need more information, please reach out to the HCCC Proshop!
US Kids Golf
What: Over the winter our instructors have gotten certified in the US Kids certification. We are bringing
this to Hunting Creek Country Club to help boost the junior program and have a standard for ongoing
junior programming that kids can come and go as they please and when it fits the schedule. Every
Tuesday we will have two sessions where the kids can come out and learn with groups of other kids.
Our Professionals are working their hardest to make sure the kids get the best teaching experience
while having a good time. This will make each session small in participation. They will be given a US
Kids handbook by the level they are at. We will be starting all students in level 1 and progressing
throughout.
Who: 4 - 12
When: Every Tuesday, First Session April
Each session is limited to 12 kids.
