It seems like a fast transition is taking place from Winter to Summer. Hard to believe the
weird and wild weather we are having! The saying holds true, "If you don’t like the
weather in Louisville just wait 5 minutes and it can change."
Memorial Day weekend was proof positive that the mantra I heard growing up still
remains to this day. I spent Saturday in a toboggan (that’s a fitted ski cap for you
northerners) and three layers, only for Monday 80* and sunny and host to the biggest
crowd ever at the pool! What a stark change.
As you can imagine, if you have spent much time around the club this year our amenities
have never been busier. It is so fun to see the club explode, and people come out of the
woodwork to enjoy this awesome place. The excitement for and at Hunting Creek is sky
high!
With this exceptional level of activity, we must take a moment to remind ourselves and
our friends and family that safety must be at the center of all we are doing at the club.
Behind the clubhouse we have so many different amenities mixing that a few
housekeeping items are worth noting so that we can maintain a safe and enjoyable
experience for all.
1) Adjacent to the Partridge Lounge, we have patio dining, golfers ingress and egress,
people stopping and going from the Turn Bar, 10th Tee activity and pool access. The
number of people that traverse that area is too numerous to count in a single day. Please
drive your carts carefully through that area. It's not a large space and we often have
children whom you can’t see making their way through there on the way to the pool.
2) Parents please remind you pool-goers that their bikes are to be walked and not ridden
between Hunting Creek Drive and the Pool House. This is for their safety.
3) As mentioned previously, the amenities, specifically the golf course, have never been
busier. With the proximity of hole #10 to the pool we saw several occasions over opening
weekend where junior fun spilled out from the pool to the fairway, rough and tee box of
hole #10. Please remind our younger population that the course is for golfers, and just as
we do for bike riders and walkers, we need to remind each other that non-golf activities
should be kept to other intended locations for everyone’s safety.
We look forward to continuing to add to what has already been an amazing season. We
hope each of you, your families and friends take advantage of all Hunting Creek has to
offer. We look forward to seeing each of you soon & often!

Elite Teens

Is your child a competitive golfer?
Elite Teens is built for the Junior Golfer who is playing in Junior Golf Tournaments,

Middle School/High School, or looking to possibly play in College.
What is it?

Elite Teens is a program built for Junior Golfers who are on the more competitive side.
Our Instructors include, Ben Fulkerson, PGA, Anna Walker, and Brandon Tereshko. Ben

played golf at Providence High School and in junior events. Ben turned Pro in 2019
while in College and has competed in many Tournaments and Qualifiers. Anna grew
up playing golf and played in high school. Anna continued her playing career at King
University. Brandon Tereshko grew up playing in junior tournaments and in high school.

Brandon then continued to play at the NAIA College golf level at Taylor University.
The instructors goal for this programming is to enhance the players skill sets from
basic fundamentals of US Kids to tournament ready golf. Elite Teens main component
of teaching is to get the kids onto the golf course. We will work on course management

and how to hit those specialty shots when needed.

Any Junior from the age of 13 - 17

US Kids at Hunting Creek

Are you looking for the perfect place to get your kids started in Golf?
US Kids, brought to you by the Hunting Creek Professional Staff, is the

place to start.
What is it?

Over the Winter, Ben Fulkerson, became a US Kids Certified Instructor.
Now with the help of Anna Walker and Brandon Tereshko, the team is
ready to bring a comprehensive junior golf programming for all ages. Every
Tuesday, we will have two sessions where the kids can come out and learn
with kids their own ages and skill levels. Our Golf Professionals are working
their hardest to achieve programming for all skill levels and ages this year.
US Kids is one of the largest junior programs in the country and have the
best retention rates for the kids to continue to play into older ages. Each
kid will be given a US Kids Handbook to read for themselves or have the
parents know what the instructors are teaching each day. Each kid also
can earn pins for their achievements and play games, which makes golf

fun.
Who can participate:
Any Junior from the age of 4 - 15

When is it?
Every Tuesday Starting April 6th.

Session 1: 4 - 5 pm
Session 2: 5:15 - 6 pm

Summer is here, and we have switched over to our summer schedule. This summer straight from
the campus IUS, Jerid Inman and Connor Mason will conduct a pickleball clinic on Saturdays

11:30 – 12:30. Due to the nature of pickleball we will to limit this clinic to 12 members. If the demand
exceeds the 12 members we will open other times to ensure all that want to learn pickleball.

The time of year has arrived for everyone to start thinking about
Marathon Bridge. Play starts in October and goes through March.
We generally meet the secound and forth Thursday of the month,
followed by a delicious lunch. So please let Valerie Nahorniak know
who will be your partner. Remember only one of the team must ne a
member of the club.Now that Covid restrictions have ended, let's

make sure that Marathon isn't over too!
