Bakit may newspaper pa rin?\" The question, admittedly, is not without merit. One might reasonably interrogate the continued relevance of print. Yet aside from the fact that reading news on our devices is prone to distraction (and far more pressing than the proliferation of misinformation disseminated thru fraudulent pages and internal propaganda), only 57%1 of households in the municipality posses the capacity to access the internet. And for us, that disenfranchised 43% is not a footnote—it is a mandate. So here we are! Because every Bulaeño and Bulaeña deserves to know what is happening in their own community—told fairly, told honestly, and told with respect. That is our editorial mandate: Access to information... in all its forms. Because we hold that, as a fundamental conviction, proper education and information start with access. Free access. Nellie P. Largo, who attended the event, addressed the participants and attendees, emphasizing community strength, sense of belongingness, and cultural pride. She also praised the young performers and the partnership between the local government and school. “Tulad ng kawayan ang ating kumunidad ay matatag, matiyaga at marunong yumuko sa hamon ng buhay ngunit hindi kailanman nababali,” she told the crowd. “Ipagpatuloy ninyo ang paglinang ng inyong talento at pagmamahal sa ating kultura. Your creativity, energy, and passion are signs that the future of our municipality is in good hands.”Scholarship program ng LGU, inilunsad; Bukas sa lahat ng kasarian at sektorBY ALESSA MAE R.
