The adverse effects of assigning a lot of homework to students

Even having homework is a good practice to learn the material for students, it
seems overwhelming at times. Assigning a lot of homework to students harms students
well being. Instead of getting rest and relax after classes, students have to struggle with
a lot of complex and arduous homework. Reduction in health and worsening social
communication are two obvious negative effects of assigning an excessive amount of
homework to students.

To begin with, assigning a lot of homework leads to numerous health issues for
students whether mentally or physically. In the first place, giving a lot of homework is
causing the students to get mental health problems including pressure and tension.
Students have pressure and expectations to finish their homework and turn it in when it’s
due. Furthermore, they also are trying to finish entire homework until late at night that is
leading to an increased the stress for them. In the meantime, getting too much of
homework also causes poor physical health for students. As the stress levels increase
which cause many physical health problems following. For instance, the acne on the face,
lack of enough sleep, loss of weight, stomach problems, headaches, and fatigue.

Not only a reduction in health, but worsening social communication also is the
adverse effect of assigning a lot of homework to students. Students are spending less
time with the people in their life including their families and their friends on account of
having a lot of homework. Excessive homework can cut down on productive family
time. Also, they don’t have time to interact with schoolmates and friends. On top of that,
spending too much time on homework make students dropped activities, and not
pursue hobbies they enjoy. So, it is hard to communicate with other people and learn
how to solve some issues that may occur if you don’t have enough experience. Namely,
they may miss the priceless moment while doing homework.

To summarize, assigning a lot of homework to students affects decreasing health
and cutting down social interaction. Wherefore, assigning a lot of homework is not a
good way for students. Students should have enough free time for them to relax after
classes that are extremely tired.
