How does a teenager like me deal with financial problem?

Nowadays, a lot of teenagers like me work at a young age to earn more money. This

trend happens because they are having high spending and demands during this age. For
example, they may be chasing trends blindly to satisfy their own vanity. Yet, trends are
changing fast, and this causes teenagers to waste a lot of money on buying things that are

following the latest trend. Besides personal factors, financial problems that teenagers faced
were also caused by external factors. For instance, teenagers are unable to pay schooling
fees because of poor family background. The lack of basic education about managing money

towards teenagers causes them not to be aware that they are facing a financial problem. Once
they noticed the problems, the situation had become critical. Therefore, what are the ways to
help teenagers like me to deal with these financial problems?

Firstly, teenagers can attend talks or seminars that are held by finance experts to gain
more knowledge about ways to manage money. This is because the experts are professionals

in managing money. With this, they can give useful advice to the teenagers and teach them
how to apply the techniques in their daily lives. They might even have the service of helping
to make a money management plan which is special for specific customers. Moreover,

teenagers can also learn more about finance management by themselves through media like
YouTube to search for videos about money management. For example, Bloomberg TV and

Mr Money TV. This is because teenagers are able to manage their money well to avoid
financial problems automatically once they have mastered finance management skills. Hence,
the most useful way to overcome financial problems is for teenagers to take the initiative to

learn about ways to manage money.

Secondly, teenagers should learn the skill of budgeting. Budget is the estimation of

revenue and expenses over a period of time in the future, and it is usually compiled on a
periodic basis. Budgeting usually comes up with a budget plan, where teenagers need to list
out all the expenses and what to use to avoid wasting money. This is because budgeting

requires one to do research on things that are going to buy to avoid buying goods with high
price but low quality. This also helps teenagers who are yet familiar with the market prices of

the goods not to be fooled by the black-hearted sellers. Teenagers can create their own budget
plan by using various budget planner templates that are available on the Internet based on
their own necessity. Besides, budgeting also helps to avoid having debts, especially while

using credit cards where they are unable to see how much money has been used, but only
when the bills come. The youngsters must be responsible to themselves by taking control on

spending money. Therefore, budgeting did helps youngsters to manage money wisely and
effectively.

Thirdly, teenagers can also deal with financial problems by getting a part-time job. This
is because teenagers like me are mostly college students, and they are not able to apply for

a full-time job. Therefore, a part-time job is the most suitable job to be done by teenagers as
it will not take too long a period to work but only work for five hours per day and five days per
week. With this, teenagers can use the rest of the day to focus on their studies as well, so that

their academics will not be affected by the job. However, this way is only suitable for the one
who can manage their time well and the one who is self-disciplined. Teenagers can start with

a part-time job which is easier to catch up on, so that they will not be stressed at the beginning.
Examples of easy part-time jobs are waiters, cashiers and so on. After being familiar with the
mode of working in society, like knowing the employee benefits, overtime needs to increase

wages and so on, teenagers are able to avoid being fooled by the employers. Besides, this
also helps teenagers to gain experience before officially stepping out into society. At this young

age, teenagers should have started to learn to be independent and no longer rely on parents
to provide everything for them. This is because some teenagers are facing financial problems
due to poor family background, therefore getting a part-time job can also reduce the burden

of family. Thus, getting a part-time job can cope with financial problems effectively.

Next, teenagers can also save their money at the bank by registering a savings
account, so that there are funds to be used during emergencies. Savings account is an

interest-bearing deposit account held at a bank where it requires someone to open and fund
an account. In return, the bank pays them interest based on the amount of their savings as
the bank uses the saved money to make loans to other people and charge them interest.

Hence, saving money in a savings account allows teenagers to earn money automatically
without doing any work but only by increasing their interest. Besides, a savings account allows
the money to be withdrawn anytime and the amount that can be withdrawn is unlimited.

Therefore, it is suitable for teenagers to save their emergency fund or short-term cash.
Teenagers can also do some research on which bank to register a savings account is the most

suitable for them as each bank has different terms and conditions, interest rate and public
praise. For example, the interest rate of RHB Smart Account is up to 2.85% by fulfilling all the
terms and conditions stated by the bank, while interest rate of Standard Chartered

Privilege$aver is up to 4.30%. Hence, saving accounts is also one of the valid ways to deal
with financial problems.

In a nutshell, the financial problems faced by young people can be solved through
various methods. For instance, attending finance experts' talks, taking initiative to watch

related videos, applying budgeting, getting a part-time job, and opening savings accounts. In
short, as long as it is a problem, there is always a solution. Youngsters should never seek
finance assistance from loan shark or commit suicide because of thinking that the problem

cannot be solved. Although such news is often reported, we should not follow suit as those
are irrational and wrong behaviors. Instead, we should learn from it by understanding the

seriousness of the financial problem and take the initiative to understand and use the correct
methods to cope with it. This is because teenagers will enter adulthood after adolescence,
and they should learn to be independent from now on and rely on themselves for everything.
