Preface

Throughout the long reign of 42 years of his Majesty King
Chulalongkorn, King Rama 5, or 'Luang Buddha,' has done
many royal duties. In progressing Thailand to be as great as
civilized nation. And one of the important royal duties is to
promote and sustain Buddhism. He was very interested in
studying Buddhism; thus he wrote many stories about
Buddhism. He also encouraged and initiated Buddhist literature.
He built many temples and restored many old ones.

Introductory story

King Chulalongkorn (B.E. 1868–1910). When he was 20 years
old, he took a 15-day leave of absence on September 24, 1873,
at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. by Krom Muen Rays

Construction and restoration of various monasteries
