Introduction
As acknowledged by society, a teacher is a
person who works in a school or other
educational setting to impart knowledge that is
carefully organized into a syllabus. To get kids
ready for the test, they concentrated on
getting through the curriculum in each class
hour. However, this is how society views the
function of the teacher. To be more specific,
becoming a great teacher is much harder than
it first appears to be. An excellent teacher,
according to William Arthur, motivates
students in their own unique ways. This leads
us to the conclusion that a great teacher is
someone who is passionate about inspiring
students to achieve success in their own
unique way. Particularly in this modern period,
the teacher's influence on the development of
the students is quite important. Teenagers in
particular could have gotten far in the digital
world without teachers all without realizing
their own moral worth. I've listed a few
important qualities that I want to develop upon
myself so that I can fulfil a lifelong desire of
becoming a teacher.
1
Respectful
In pursuing to become a dream teacher, I
have intended to nurture respectfulness in
myself. This characteristic also applies to
how I treat my students, not just how I treat
my colleague. According to my own
experience, respect for one another is
essential to preserving healthy interpersonal
relationships. This quality has an effect on
children as well. The general consensus is
that younger individuals don't require the
same level of respect as older ones. Respect
is a two-way street; in order to get it, you
must first extend it to others, as R.G. Risch
famously said. Respecting students does
not necessarily entail treating them with
arrogance. The concept entails paying
attention to pupils, caring about their
academic success, recognizing their
development, and, most importantly,
showing them that you care.
2
Respectful
The concept that treating pupils with
respect must therefore be fostered in
order for all behavior to be consistent with
our objectives. Simply appreciating the
students can help teachers and educators
in a lot of ways. One of them is that the
teaching session, whether it takes place
inside or outside of the classroom, will be
far more effective. This is certainly true
because the kids will be happier
throughout the lesson and won't be
rejecting the teacher's suggestions. Not
only that, but a teacher's relationships with
their pupils may become even more solid
as a result of their students' respect for
them. As we talk, it is crucial to maintain
positive relationships with the students,
and the way to achieve this is by treating
one another with respect. Both parties can
reveal much more about themselves
through this.
3
Listener
Hearing is different from listening. Hearing
can be essentially described as the brain's
instinctive response to external inputs. On
the other hand, listening is a voluntary
action in which a person gives something or
someone their undivided attention while
giving it considerable thought. Today's
world demands good listening abilities,
especially in the teaching profession
because listening enables us to see a
portion of our lives from a larger angle. The
majority of adults, particularly instructors,
do not specifically practice this skill
because they do not value its importance
for students' growth. An improved and
productive learning environment may be
achieved in the classroom by having good
listening skills, says communications
specialist Gillian Parrish.
When I started my career as an educator, I
personally established a goal for myself to
improve my listening skills. Since my
experience convinced me of this, listening
to 4

what my pupils have to say has always
been my top focus. When we conduct
show-and-tell activities in my elementary
school years, my teacher likes to start a
conversation with the class. To prevent the
relationship between teacher and student
from deteriorating, even the smallest
activities are offered. Since then, I've seen
that my classmates and I are doing better
on exams and in social situations. The
likelihood that a student will comprehend
the lesson's main points is significantly
higher when a teacher makes them feel like
they are actually a part of the discussion
than it is when teachers don't use these
techniques.
5
Humble
The third attribute I wanted to develop in
myself so I could work to become a great
teacher is humility. Being humble does
not imply having low self-esteem or being
a weak person. Being humble involves
having an open mind and the realization
that everyone is equal. This kind of
mindset is becoming less and less
prevalent in society today, especially
among educators and teachers. It
appears that what humility has to teach
us is at odds with the priorities of the day.
People focus on obtaining exterior
accomplishments like jobs and wages
more and more these days. But over time,
this will only feed their ego, and they will
get more conceited. A humble teacher will
always be open-minded and eager to
learn new things, therefore the more
humility is practiced, the greater
instructors will be produced. They
acknowledged the presence of others
who could have a more enlightened

Humble
viewpoint and deeper understanding on a
certain topic. They also admit that there
could be possibilities where students know
better regarding a certain topic and thus
the lesson can become a two-way
interaction between students and
teachers.
Not just that, humility can also benefits
teachers in term of student’s development
towards the lesson given. When a teacher
is humble to their students, the class
environment become much productive
where students raced to perform better in
each class. They did this solely to impress
and to gain recognition from their
teachers. In this context, they learn to
analyze the input deeper, they focus on
every class consistently and they aim to
obtain good grades in every test or
examination. Indirectly, the teachers have
managed to inspire students to give their
best in school so that students can
achieve what they wanted in the future.
7
Multitalented
I wanted to develop the culture where
teaching lesson does not occur in
classroom alone in order to become the
teacher I had always envisioned myself to
be. Meaning that the lesson was taught
both inside and outside of the classroom. In
this situation, the lesson imparted
emphasizes life lessons in addition to
academic ones. This is because I want to
play the dual role of best friend and second
parent to the students. For kids who
typically have a negative attitude of school,
doing this can make it much more
appealing to attend. Students experience
such feelings because some schools do not
place a high priority on maintaining
students' mental health. The youth of today
are already under a lot of strain at both
home and school as we speak. In order to
help students, overcome their mental
health issues, teachers must take action in
this area.
8
Multitalented
A superb teacher not only performs
admirably in the classroom but also in other
settings. They are able to help students who
are experiencing health issues, such as
depression or heartbreak, and are able to
maintain students' emotional equilibrium as
a result. They assist kids in coming up with
the best answer to any issue, whether it
arises in the classroom or outside of it.
9
Conclusion
In conclusion, being a teacher may be very
tough and difficult. However, they are
among the most honourable individuals
because they are in charge of raising our
children so that they would seek to
improve themselves and their country.
Teachers are the ones who cultivate the
roots for these magnificent discoveries and
breakthroughs we have seen so far, despite
the fact that their participation in the
process of world development does not
appear to be particularly visible. The world
we see now might not have existed without
teachers. A teacher impacts eternity; he
cannot predict where and when his effect
will end, as Henry Adams memorably said
once. To ensure that these youngsters have
a good future in the long term, instructors
today must make every effort to become
excellent teachers rather than mediocre
ones.
