ED MALAGAPO ENERGY...andtesla In Genesis 1:3, God said, "Let there be light, and there was light." That was the beginning of energy. Throughout the history of mankind, the light was the second creation manifested by our Almighty God for his people to be delighted throughout their lifetime. The first creation was the heavens and earth. Then land, vegetation, plants and trees, and water followed. To make the universe complete all other creations were created especially mankind in the likeness and image of God that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creations that move along the ground. Male and female were created in his likeness that in his gladness, he blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. On the seventh day, God finished his work and made it holy because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. The sun was among those created by God, which provides us with heat and light. The fire was then sparked by lightning strikes which are now used for cooking as additional sources of heat and light. Another source of energy was sails which harness wind energy for transportation. It was then utilized as a wind farm in the form of windmills turning water wheels for grinding grain. The railroad energy flourished by using wood-fueled fires a main source for heating, cooking, and producing steam. These were possible because at that time water, wind coal, and to a small degree manufactured natural gas were used. The first natural gas discovered was in early 500 BC by the Chinese in their initiative to observe that gas was leaking from the ground and used bamboo as the means in piping the gas for use in boiling sea water to remove the salt. It was the world's first natural gas pipeline. The use of fuels for large-scale heat and electricity was conducted in 1816 by manufacturing natural gas made from coal, and powered street lights in Baltimore, Maryland. Coal was the primary fuel source, wood was used for heating, and natural gas for lighting diminishing the use of water and wind energy. Throughout the 1900s then from 1945 to the present, oil and natural gas were primary fuel sources and electricity became more common with nuclear, solar, water, and wind have played a larger role in the production of energy. Aside from the above energy sources, alternatives like geothermal and biomass continue to grow in use and enhancements of technology to improve viability. We can recall the first discovered energy in 1752 by Benjamin Franklin through experimentation by emitting sparks from lightning strikes that generated power. It was part of the Industrial Revolution for electricity. Originally, the energy of the sun is the source of most of the energy found on Earth. The solar heat we get from the sun, and sunlight produces electricity from solar (photovoltaic) cells. Coal as the oldest energy in the world, still dominates its usage. But with the UN's 3Ps advocate, it seems that this source of energy will be reduced. Nikola Tesla, the father of our modern energy systems contributed to the science of energy and rivaled his chief competitor, Thomas Edison. Such an energy visionary, Tesla laid the groundwork for the electricity generation and delivery systems that we know today. His statement up to now, echoed sentiments from among us, thus said, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." MAY 2023 ISSUE 5 Vol. 1 who'swho I met NA Jess Mendoza during the culmination of my duties on December 2022 where we also signed the turnover paper as a sign of authority for him to do the audit work for 2023. He was cool, simple, and yet confident that he can carry on the task for the next 365 days. The work of an auditor is just like a person who wants to dig everything in the organization's scarce resources if being governed safely by the leader and his lieutenants during his core of duty. His highest accomplishment is his Doctorate in Public Administration with only a dissertation to prepare and complete before a battery of doctorate panelists. This last phase of an academic journey seemed too heavy to those at their pinnacle of success unless that doctorate candidate is too serious to finish it within the timeframe. As an academician and researcher, and defense panelist, I found it too heavy for those who are in the last leg of their doctorate if they will not grab the opportunity to completely running the race to succeed However, NA Jess can still complete the last phase of his doctorate journey. It's a matter of giving some time to do the needful. Before working as a Plant Maintenance Superintendent of NAPOCOR's Kabugao DPP, SPUG Luzon, he went through the ladder that most of our successful engineers were experiencing that kind of hierarchical succession. He was relegated to Trainer in the maintenance and operations of a Diesel Power Plant of TESDA, likewise as the TESDA technical expert panel member for validating the training regulation as NCIII of the Diesel Power Plant Maintenance. Additionally, he was a pollution control officer of the Kabugao DPP before rising to Cluster Head of the Northern Luzon Calayan DPP, Palanan DPP, Maconacon DPP, Camiguin Mini-Grid, Kabugao DPP, and Lubuagan DPP. It shows that NA Jess was fully involved in the operations and maintenance of a Diesel Power Plant. It is one of the sources of energy that until now cannot be easily replaced by renewable energy as most of engineers will see it go in favor of the latter. His being a Mechanical Maintenance Head propelled him to the highest position he lastly occupied as Plant Maintenance Superintendent. Engr. Jess Mendoza had some distinctions to be proud of like being an Outstanding Engineer provided by the Media Writer Association of the Philippines, the Lingkod Bayan Award of NLOD Group provided by the Civil Service Commission, and a Resource Person and Assessor for the NAPOCOR Diesel Plant Operations. James Abarca is a tripartite kind of engineer involved in the consultancy, construction, and manufacturing industries. His involvement in these three areas might well be due to his exposure as a practicing engineer and as an entrepreneur. James might not have thoughts about all these endeavors while doing his mechanical engineering studies but due to opportunities that came his way, he did not have any option but to grab it. He succeeded in these areas. Now he wants to prove something by returning all these blessings to be part of PSME nationally as the VP for the Luzon Region. James as early after graduating with his mechanical engineering from Saint Louie University in Baguio, started working as a technician from Sanyo and Ricoh office automation for two years, then train his sights in construction projects for a year as a mechanical engineer with a local firm, ALPA-PCM, Inc. His craving for projects paved him to become an entrepreneur by having his own construction and maintenance company on MEP for four years which provided him the opportunity to learn the trade and be an expert on it. . Although he was successful as an entrepreneur, James caved in and look for greener pastures and two years gained knowledge directly from the chairman of the board of H2O Engineering & Technology as Regional Director for their Baguio and Cagayan Valley projects. For two years, James' knowledge soars up but remains cool. He transferred to HAPCO Group (FZCO) as a client representative on their mechanical engineering projects particularly on the fire protection system. For the first time, he ventured on overseas work and found his way to Doha, Qatar working as Asst. Technical Manager for Darwish Trading Company WLL on their ACVR projects for two years. Not contented with his first two-year stint, he landed in Singapore for some projects in fire protection as a project manager for nine years, the longest stay in an overseas company compared to his previous 1 or 2 years of experience. Throughout those 9 years, he successfully managed 11 projects which provided him leverage in the field of project construction, engineering, management, and all areas of activities that he cannot imagine. He was with the Deluge Fire Protection(S.E.A.) PTE LTD., Singapore. Now, on his own, he partnered with Firetech Equipment & Systems PVT Limited of Mumbai-India & S.E.A. as the Business Development Manager. James now has his own company a consultancy and an engineering and construction which deals in mechanical and fire protection projects, and a general contractor and project management of large MEPF projects. As young as he is at 49, James received prestigious awards, joined prestigious organizations, received certificates in training and seminars, and was ready to be at par with the leading contractors in the Philippines. Continued from page 1 Reflection: Nikola Tesla: "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." There are three components in this Tesla golden statement: energy, frequency, and vibration which I can surmise as the independent variables. The dependent variable is the universe itself and the United Nations is doing some initiatives to conserve the universe from decaying. Understanding Tesla's golden statement needs deep interpretation of the provided variables such as energy, frequency, and vibration which if we recollect our elementary research on signal processing, acoustics, and electromagnetism, we have to understand the universe. Think about vibration, and how the waves behave. Its behavior can be explained using its energy and frequency or wavelength. This can be exemplified in us, how our life, and how we perceive reality about the current technologies that are directly or indirectly related to waves and parameters like frequency and energy. We are interacting with the current surrounding reality by seeing and listening to them. Our eyes and ears can convert electromagnetic (light) and mechanical (sound) waves respectively into electric neutral signals through our brain. As a matter of fact, our brain in this instant will be firing or decoding neutrons (an example of electrical impulses/waves. This theory provides us with reality based on our ability to decode or encode information in the waves. Another element is time. One second is the fastest time we can see and observe. One second is 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiations corresponding to the electron transitions between two quantum levels in the CAESIUM-133 atom. The time we perceive is defined by the frequency of certain waves produced by the CAESIUM atom. You will notice that this phenomenon exists when you are celebrating your birthday event. The whole concept of time as we perceive is inversely related to a frequency which gives us a sense of periodicity in our daily life. Digging deeper into the quantum wave mechanics, REALITY itself can be found as a manifestation of the wave equation. An alternate universe or a whole alternate reality might be a result of a slightly different solution to the wave equation. This phenomenon leads us to believe that Tesla's golden statement should be considered as our reality, time, gravity, vision, hearing, and feelings (inside our brain), are related to waves. Our natural world and the digital world largely depend on wave physics. Most of our electronic devices like smartphones, computers, cameras, and microphones, among others, have Analog Digital Converters (ADC) and their sole purpose is to convert analog waves (electromagnetic or mechanical waves) into digital signals which appear as binary information on our computers and allows us to do all kinds of image processing, auto processing, etc. The Digital Analog Converter (DAC) combined with transponders like antennas or speakers can generate our waves after performing signal processing which is found in almost all science and engineering fields. It allows us to record waves or generate them to extract or transmit information. We are now in the 21st century as an information age. How communication is so fast and information travels across the globe. This information was generated as binary voltage levels coded onto a few megahertz of carrier waves. We have seen our internet fluctuates in EM waves in air or ON-OFF frequency of photos inside fiber cables. With simple wave path models, we can transmit information wirelessly to the next room or even to other planets inside or outside the solar system. Conclusion: Tesla's vision inspires people who have also contributed to the world with their ideas and creations and were celebrated. While Tesla's idea of the perfect diet may have been a bit strange, he clearly understood the many things that 21st-century Americans would value clean air, clean food, and their thinking machines as they stumble into the future (Matt Novak, 2013).
