Trail Mix Spring 2022

Trail Mix Spring 2022

Trail Mix

Volume XLIX Spring Edition May 2022

Happy Spring! Can you believe camp is almost here? What are you excited about doing this
summer? Are you most looking forward to playing with friends, seeing your favorite show like
Beth and Scott or participating in a special event like Dress up Day? We bet you are excited
for one of our over 60 daily activities like swimming, arts & crafts or the World Series? We
can't wait to see you all back here playing at camp once again!

We know you are going to love pulling into camp
and seeing the facelift that camp has gotten. There
is fresh gravel on the camp road and new mulch and
fencing around camp.

Also, we have launched a new camp dashboard
called Campsite! Families will be able to complete
forms, pay their balance and see daily pictures, all
in one place. See inside for more information.

We are turning block island and waffle village into Imagination

Playground! This is an innovative playground equipment
system that campers can build and create unlimited structures.
This takes imaginative play to a whole new level. Additionally,
GAGA is multiplying. We are adding 2 additional GAGA pits so
more groups can play at one time!

As if that is not enough, the basketball and hockey courts are
getting resurfaced and painted. Our newly improved hoops
complex is sure to make even Michael Jordan envious.

Let us share Summer Trails with you! Stay connected to all the
fun by liking and following us on social media including
Facebook (The Official Summer Trails Day Camp Page and
Summer Trails Baseball Camp Page), and Instagram.

Make sure your we have your correct email address and that your spam filters are
set to let us through! Lots of new and exciting things will be coming to your email in
the weeks to come!

This is a great opportunity for first time campers to visit camp prior to
their first day or for families that are still finalizing their summer plans to

learn more about our programs. No appointment necessary.

From the of the Trail

As you already know, opening day is just 41 days away and I am super excited that our 49th
Summer Trails Camp season is about to begin! Let’s Ring in Summer 2022!!!! We have been busy
in the winter office and excitement for Summer Trails 2022 is overflowing. Without a doubt our
49th season is going to be amazing.

If you have stopped in to visit us this Spring you may have been pleasantly surprised by our
fabulous facility upgrade. The new gravel for the driveway has arrived, new mulch has been
spread, new fencing is being installed, the basketball and hockey courts are getting resurfaced
and fresh lines painted, new mini golf pieces are on their way, and the beach volleyball court is
getting revamped. Our facility looks incredible thanks to the hard work of our pre season
maintenance team of Bill and Jose. A big High five to them and to Dave Parent for managing our
facility projects.

In addition, I am pleased to share our terrific Leadership Team. Keep reading this newsletter to
meet the 2022 Leadership Team. This group of talented men and woman are at camp to guide,
liaise, facilitate, mentor, and play. Combined they have almost 200 years of Summer Trails
experience!

Beyond our Leadership Team we have a remarkable group of 2022 staff and campers. It is incredible
to watch the impact that the Leadership Team makes on Group Counselors, Baseball Coaches,
Lifeguards, Nurses, Operations Staff and Activity Specialists starting at staff training in June. In turn it
is thrilling to see the Group Counselors, Baseball Coaches, Lifeguards, Nurses, Operations Staff and
Activity Specialists influence the Campers, and Leaders in Training once camp officially begins on
June 27th. Most amazing is that this influence is bi-directional. We all have the opportunity to learn
from one another and impact each other’s life experiences while at Summer Trails.

And speaking of the opportunity to learn from one another, for the
first time this summer, Summer Trails is welcoming International
Staff to our team. We are thrilled to have staff representing the
Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Sweden, Spain, Turkey,
India and the UK in addition to our local staff. What an incredible
opportunity for our campers to be introduced to other cultures
and for our campers to have the opportunity to share American
culture and customs with others.

We are counting down the days until opening day when we get to
learn and share together, play together, and grow together.

Our Mission Statement

Summer Trails is committed to empowering children. Our goal is to build confidence and self-esteem by reinforcing positive
