WHO IS EUROMONITOR INTERNATIONAL AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Euromonitor International is the world’s leading independent provider of strategic market research. They
provide data and analysis on thousands of products and services around the world and are widely used by
corporations as an unbiased source for historical trends and forecasts for many industries, including beauty
and skincare.

HOW DOES EUROMONITOR DETERMINE ITS CLAIMS REGARDING
RODAN + FIELDS AND THE SKINCARE MARKET?

Euromonitor measures total skincare sales, which are comprised of all skincare brands sold. This includes
all channels (drugstores, department stores, grocery stores, mass merchants like Shoppers Drug Mart
Walmart, Target and Costco, specialty stores like Sephora and Ulta, online sales, Home Shopping Network,
etc.) and all price points (from drug store brands (i.e. Neutrogena) to prestige department store brands (i.e.
Lancôme and La Mer).

Skincare is typically broken into Mass and Premium brands. The distinction between the two is based upon
price, positioning and channels. Mass brands have lower price points and are typically found in stores like
Shoppers Drug Mart, Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc. Premium brands have higher price
points and are typically found in stores like Nordstrom, Holt Renfrew, Saks, Hudson’s Bay, Bloomingdale’s,
Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Sephora.

WHAT DOES “PREMIUM” MEAN?
At Euromonitor, “Premium” is distinguished by price, label/positioning and distribution including the criteria
below (in descending order of importance):

• Consumer and Industry Perception- A brand is considered premium when it is thought to be so by a
majority of the population aware of that brand and its parent company

• Label/positioning relative to established premium brands in a given local market- Brands generally
considered premium in most countries include designer labels such as Yves Saint Laurent, Christian
Dior, Chanel, names such as Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Origins and Elizabeth Arden, and many newer
“cult” brands such as Bobbi Brown, Stila, Jo Malone, NARS, Laura Mercier, etc.

• Price- While price is never used as the sole criteria for identifying a premium brand, premium
products are generally priced near the top of the broader category

Within the Euromonitor database, “Prestige” is a subset of “Premium”. The Prestige category does not
include pharma brands like La Roche-Posay, Vichy, RoC, StriVectin, therefore is a slightly smaller category
than the Premium category in the US.

Yes. Even though Rodan + Fields has only been in Australia for less than 3 years, Euromonitor recognized

Rodan + Fields just launched in Japan on June 1, 2020 so there are no claims specific to the Japanese

HOW IS RODAN + FIELDS MEASURED AGAINST OTHER BRANDS?
All claims are calculated at the brand level, meaning Rodan + Fields’ dollar sales are compared to the sales
of brands like Clinique, Estée Lauder, Neutrogena and Olay. We are not being compared at the company
level, like for example, to Estée Lauder Companies (which owns many brands such as Clinique and Estée
Lauder) or L’Oréal (which owns many brands such as L’Oréal and Lancôme).

All claims are calculated based on skincare sales only, not total sales for a brand. For example, Clinique
sells makeup, fragrance and skincare and we sell some products outside of skincare, like Lash Boost (U.S.
only). For the claims, we are only comparing our skincare product sales to other companies’ skincare
product sales.

WHAT IS THE RANKING OF OTHER BRANDS?
Unfortunately, we are not able to share information, including the identity, of other brands. This is a

disruptive consumer connected commerce business model and community of entrepreneurs and provides the closest

OUR PROGRAM
Our Consultants are independent contractors who have developed business management skills, cultivated relationships within
the R+F community, and challenged themselves to become comfortable in front of audiences. Many earn fun money and
income for discretionary purchases; some even earn more. A Consultant can join for a purchase of as little as a $45 Business
Portfolio. Consultants are eligible to purchase products at reduced prices, create their own schedule, and have the potential to
earn retail profit and monthly commissions.

The R+F Compensation Plan is based on product sales. You cannot earn income from sponsoring or recruiting team members.
Over the course of 2019, R+F had 362,300 enrolled Consultants; 200,322 (55%) were Paid Consultants who received payment
in at least one month for sales that occurred during 2019; and 161,978 (45%) were Consultants who received the benefit of
discounted prices, but did not earn any compensation from R+F.

Of the Paid Consultants in 2019, approximately:
• Top 1% were paid more than $26,096/annually
• Top 10% were paid more than $4,327/annually
• Top 50% were paid more than $466/annually

EARNINGS
The income statistics shown below include retail profit and commissions earned by Consultants under the R+F Compensation
Plan. In addition, there is potential to earn bonuses and incentives in recognition of performance. These statistics do not include
expenses that may be incurred by Consultants such as an optional Business Kit they may have purchased or money they
chose to spend on their own for events, samples, or the like. Nothing more than the $45 Business Portfolio is required to join or
operate an R+F Business. As a Consultant, you always earn retail profits on the sales you make. To be eligible for commissions
on products, you must have monthly sales to retail customers and/or personal purchases of roughly $100 worth of product
[measured in Volume*]. To receive greater commissions and maintain your status your direct Customers must purchase and/or
your direct Consultants must sell 600 in Volume* of products each month. For more information regarding the compensation

R+F GLOSSARY

Do you speak R+F? Like most businesses we have a few key terms, phrases
and abbreviations that we use to improve the speed and clarity of how
we talk to each other about Rodan + Fields. Here’s a glossary of some
important terms that will help you navigate your first days in business.

• Consultant: Also known as an Independent Consultant, a person
becomes an active R+F Consultant after completing a Consultant
application and purchasing a Business Portfolio or Enrollment Kit.

• EC – Executive Consultant: The first promotion title an active
Consultant may achieve. The title requires a monthly minimum of 100 in
SV and a minimum of 600 in PSQV.

• PC – Preferred Customer: Customers who have signed up for our PC
Perks subscription program, which enables them to have their products
automatically shipped every two months, obtain a 10% discount of all
R+F products, and receive free shipping on orders totaling more than
$80 USD / $90 CAD / $100 AUD.

• SV – Sales Volume: The volume that qualifies a Consultant to be eligible
for Commissions, and consists of sales made directly to retail Customers
(not PCs), or personal purchases that you make for yourself.

• QV – Qualifying Volume: The volume on which qualifications for titles,
incentive program and performance bonuses are based.

• PSQV – Personally Sponsored Qualifying Volume: The volume of R+F
products sold to Personally Sponsored PCs, Personally Sponsored
Consultants and Consultants’ retail Customers.

• PWS – Personal Website: Give your Customers a personalized shopping
experience and your prospective Independent Consultants the
