OUR STORY SOCONNECT: BUILDING CAREER WITH INDUSTRIES 2023 On the 9th of May 2023, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) extended a warm invitation to Strateq, a technology solutions provider, to conduct a site visit aimed at fostering collaboration and providing valuable insights to UUM students. The visit, titled "SOConnect: Building Career With Industries 2023," featured a series of talks by Strateq delegates, a Q&A session, and a closed discussion focusing on the future of the Technology Talent Development (T2Dev) program. Three delegates from Strateq, including James Lim, Head of Global People Strategy (GPS), and Aiman Farris, Talent Development Manager, were invited to UUM to engage with students and share their knowledge and experiences. The talks delivered by James and Aiman focused on internships and career opportunities at Strateq, providing students with valuable information about the company and the technology industry as a whole. On the 31st of May 2023, a momentous event took place at Dataran Hamodal, bringing together the entire Strateq staff under the banner of ESG Hijau Freesh. This exceptional event, organized as part of Strateq's commitment to supporting a Sustainable Program, aimed to foster environmental awareness among employees and showcase the best ways they can contribute to the company's sustainability journey. The event not only invited all Strateq staff members but also featured a distinguished speaker from the Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia, who shared insightful initiatives on sustainability. The presence of the esteemed speaker from the Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia gave the ESG Hijau Freesh Event a profound dimension. The speaker, renowned for their altruistic work and commitment to environmental protection, provided insightful perspectives and initiatives on sustainability. Their expertise and experience in sustainable practises provided the Strateq staff with a new perspective and served as a guiding beacon. These values formed the foundation of the event, driving the purpose of creating awareness and inspiring positive action among the Strateq staff. He conveyed his gratitude for their involvement and dedication to sustainability with enthusiasm. He shared his thoughts on the wise advice given by the eminent speaker from the Taiwan Buddhist Tzu- Chi Foundation Malaysia. In order to live compassionate, aware, and sustainable lives on both a personal and professional level, Datuk Tan Seng Kit stressed the significance of doing so. These initiatives will not only improve the company's environmental performance but also motivate other businesses and people to follow suit. The ESG Hijau Freesh Event, which took place at Dataran Hamodal on May 31, 2023, was a spectacular success. EDP SERIES 2 : EFFECTIVE & INFLUENTIAL COMMUNICATION The training program aimed to equip Strateq staff with the necessary skills and strategies to communicate effectively and influence others positively. The participants, divided into two groups, had the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions, role-playing exercises, and group discussions. This allowed them to actively practice and refine their communication abilities. Kelvin Chee's expertise as a facilitator was instrumental in driving the success of the training sessions. With his engaging and dynamic teaching style, he captivated the participants and ensured the content was relatable and practical. By incorporating real-world examples and case studies, Kelvin Chee empowered the Strateq staff with actionable strategies they could implement in their day-to-day interactions. The Effective & Influential Communication EDP Module 2 course has unquestionably given Strateq workers essential abilities to advance their professional development. They have improved their communication skills and are now better able to collaborate effectively, deal with challenging work situations, and effectively communicate their thoughts. Individual employees will gain from this, but the organisation as a whole will also gain from it. Effective communication is the cornerstone of any successful organization. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth collaboration, fostering relationships, and achieving business objectives. Recognizing its significance, Strateq continued the EDP (Executive Development Program) Series with Module 2 which focuses on enhancing communication skills. The training was conducted in two groups, with the first group completing their session on 8th and 9th May 2023, followed by the second group on 15th and 16th May 2023. EDP SERIES 3 : PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING The EDP Module 3 was a two-day event that aimed to help participants become better at solving problems and making decisions. It took place at The Guest Hotel & Spa, offering a peaceful environment for learning. The program mixed classroom learning with activities outside to make the experience more practical and effective. During the program, participants learned about different ways to solve problems and make decisions. They did this through discussions, workshops, and by studying real-life situations. They were encouraged to put what they learned into practice, both in the classroom and during outdoor activities. The incorporation of outside activities was a crucial component of the program's success. These activities, ranging from team-building exercises to real-time simulations, allowed participants to apply problem-solving techniques in a more dynamic and unpredictable environment. The experiential nature of these activities challenged participants to think on their feet, adapt to changing circumstances, and collaborate effectively with their peers. In today's dynamic and competitive business landscape, the ability to effectively solve problems and make sound decisions is a paramount skill for any executive or leader. POWER BI:DASHBOARD BEAUTIFICATION TRAINING AT STRATEQ SYSTEMS On the 7th of August 2023, Strateq Training Room at Dataran Hamodal witnessed a transformative half-day training session that aimed to elevate the expertise of interns from Strateq Systems Sdn Bhd in the realm of Power BI dashboard beautification. The training, conducted by none other than GPS Head James Lim, was an opportunity for interns to enhance their data presentation skills and unleash their creative potential. One of the highlights of the training was the intersection of aesthetic sensibility and data science. The interns learned how to balance creativity with data accuracy, ensuring that the visual representations remained faithful to the underlying information. They were taught to choose appropriate chart types, incorporate relevant images, and organize the layout in a way that enhances readability. By the end of the training, interns emerged equipped with the tools and techniques needed to transform raw data into compelling narratives. The training session not only enhanced their technical skills but also instilled in them a newfound confidence to tackle data visualization challenges head-on. Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer course is designed to empower developers with the knowledge and skills required to provide automated solutions for organizations using the robust capabilities of Microsoft Power Automate. By mastering this powerful tool, developers gain the ability to streamline and optimize various business processes, enabling organizations to achieve greater efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. MICROSOFT POWER AUTOMATE RPA DEVELOPER TRAINING The Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer Training was conducted by James Hong. The training was held from May 29th to June 1st, 2023, at Trainocate, KL Eco City. Out of the participants, six individuals were staff from Strateq's ESG department, including the data team, Software team, and GPS team. Furthermore, participants will grasp advanced concepts such as error handling, exception management, and debugging techniques to ensure the robustness and reliability of their automated solutions. They will also learn how to optimize performance, monitor, and analyze workflows, and implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and protect organizational resources. By the end of the course, developers will emerge with a comprehensive skill set, enabling them to become proficient Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developers. Armed with this expertise, they will be well-equipped to provide organizations with innovative and efficient automated solutions, enhancing operational efficiency, reducing manual effort, and driving digital transformation. Throughout the course, participants will delve into the intricacies of Microsoft Power Automate, learning how to leverage its extensive set of features to automate repetitive tasks, integrate disparate systems, and orchestrate complex workflows seamlessly.
