Highgrove is situated on Harvest Hill in the Thames-side town of Bourne
End. The town boasts the charm and appeal of an unspoiled British Village
and provides for everyday needs with a bustling array of shops and local
businesses and access to a station to London via Maidenhead. The Chequers
pub is also only a short walk away and offers good pub food and
award-winning ales as well as a good wine list.
Bourne End is ideally situated between two of the most desirable towns in
the South of England, with Marlow just 3 miles to the west and Beaconsfield
only 4 miles northeast.
The nearby historic Georgian market town of Marlow is nestled on the banks
of the River Thames and set amongst rich meadows of the river valley and
alongside the woodlands of the Chiltern Hills. Its remarkable location makes
it easily one of the loveliest locations anywhere on the River Thames, but its
historic streets and bustling high street just add to the town's unique charm.
Beaconsfield is also known to be one of the South of England's most exclusive
historic towns and is situated adjacent to the Chiltern Hills Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town is also home to The Royal Standard of
England, reported to be the oldest Free House in England, playing host to
King Charles I during the civil war.
Together, the two neighbouring towns offer plenty of local independent and
national retailers, along with numerous bars, cafes, bistros and restaurants,
so there is always the ideal destination close by for any occasion.
For commuters, Highgrove also offers excellent travel connections into
London. Take the train from the Bourne End station into London via
Maidenhead, which is set to benefit from the new Crossrail services.
Alternatively, the train from the Beaconsfield station will get you to
Marylebone in 23 minutes.
Highgrove is also conveniently located to motorway connections, with the
M4 and M40 just 10 minutes away by car, and Heathrow Airport is only 25
minutes away.

A world of Michelin star dining
Fine dining is one of life's great pleasures - and temptations. With no less
than five Michelin starred restaurants nearby, along with an eclectic range
of cafes, bistros bars and restaurants dotted around nearby towns, at
Highgrove you're ideally located to enjoy a delectable range of world-class
haute cuisine whenever you desire.
In nearby Marlow is The Hand and Flowers, the only pub in Great Britain to
be awarded two Michelin stars. Owned and run by chef Tom Kerridge, the
menu combines the very best of modern British fare with rustic French
dishes to emphasise the best available seasonal ingredients.
Also located in the heart of Marlow is The Coach, a one Michelin-starred
pub brought to you by the same team behind The Hand and Flowers. The
Coach is led by head chef Tom De Keyser and offers a flexible and relaxed
atmosphere where patrons can enjoy Michelin-star quality pub tapas. No
bookings are taken for The Coach. Instead, they work using a first come,
first served basis.
Highgrove is also conveniently located to the nearby village of Bray, which is
home to two of the four three Michelin starred restaurants in the whole of
Britain.
Alain Roux's Waterside Inn is widely regarded as a leading light in the world
of gastronomy. Serving only the finest in French cuisine with a strong
emphasis on delicious decadence, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant
offers a romantic, yet elegant ambience that overlooks an enchanting
riverside setting.
Also located in Bray is Heston Blumenthal's legendary
three-Michelin-starred restaurant The Fat Duck. Every one of the unique
dishes served at The Fat Duck is truly extraordinary, from nitro-poached
aperitifs to snail porridge, to salmon poached in liquorice gel or whisky wine
gums, there's always a different gastronomical delight to discover.
Heston Blumenthal is also behind Bray's newest addition to the town's
Michelin-star rated eateries. The Hinds Head is a gastropub located in a
historic Tudor building that dates back to the 15th century. The
one-Michelin-starred pub features both a set menu and an ala carte menu
with plenty of traditional British fare and a strong emphasis on dishes made
using seasonal produce. Of course, you'll also find some of Heston's unique
creations on the menu, including snail hash or chocolate wine slush. The
menu also features some historical recipes from the Tudor era researched
and recreated by Heston.
