August events: Friendship Day : Our club celebrated Friendship Day on 3rd August at Kiran Agarwal’s residence. In a world where human beings are occupied by diverse relationships, there is one bond that holds a special place in everyone’s lives- that is the bond of friendship. Whether old or new, young or old, every friend has a special place. The members of the club came together to celebrate this occasion . The members greeted each other with a friendship band. Cake was cut, games were played and old memories were shared with the new members. The hosts of the day were Kiran Agarwal, Harpal Roopra and Manjit Chhabra. The dress code for the day was yellow. Women Empowerment: The need of the hour is making women financially independent and live with self-respect. To achieve this, our club took a small step to empower six girls of Tangerpalli village near Rourkela. These girls were given five days training in baking various types of cakes with icing. The girls will be guided to form a society which will help them to make bakery items and sell in their village. This will be an ongoing project wherein they will be taught other items also. The objective of the project is to empower the girls and help them to earn in their own areas. Independence Day celebration: Independence day was celebrated with children of Rourkela School for deaf alongwith Rotary club of Rourkela mid-town. The President of Rotary club hoisted the flag. Inner-wheel President addressed the gathering and talked about the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and their families. She also said that it was a proud moment for the club to celebrate this auspicious day with the children of the deaf school. The Principal of the school thanked all for joining the celebration. The winners of drawing and essay competition conducted on the eve of Independence Day were awarded and consolation prizes were given to others. Multi-flag Exchange meet : A multi-flag Exchange meet organized by Dist.314(Mumbai) was attended by PP. Rucha Kakkad on 25th August, 2023 at Oberoi Malls, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Twenty four flags were exchanged with Mumbai, Dist 314, one with Surat, Dist 306, one with Durgapur, Dist 324 and one with Jabalpur mid-town Dist, 326.

President Soudamini Singh exchanged flag with ISO of Inner wheel club of Cuttack on 19.8.23.

It was a great opportunity for me to represent my club and exchange 27 flags; 24 clubs of Mumbai and one each of Surat, Durgapur and Jabalpur. It was a wonderful effort put by Dist.314. Their promptness in arranging the MULTI-FLAG EXCHANGE MEET and getting us all together as soon as they heard that I will be visiting Mumbai is worth appreciating. Teej ke vrat mein shankar parvati ji ki puja hoti hai.Iss samay dharti par hariyaali apni charam seema pe hoti hai isliye iss parv ko hum hariyali teej bolte hain. Jab teej ke tyohar mein hum bhaktibhaav mein leen hokar upvaas aur araadhna karte hain toh bhagwaan humko aashirwaad dene dharti pe aate hain.
