E-Spark is truly sparkling with a lot of achievements. The Department has
conducted innumerable activities at student level including outreach
activities. All these activities make engineering education meaningful. I
congratulate the faculty and students for their outstanding performance.
In future, the engineering professions will be dominated by the Electrical
Engineers! I wish the Department all the best and continued success.

Memorandum of Understanding Awarded

The Department of EEE Signed an MOU with Dr. K Gopala Reddy from the department of Electrical
VENJAY AUTOMATION PVT LTD. Bengaluru and Electronics was awarded with Ph.D. degree from
VTU under the guidance of Dr. T Ananthapadmanabha,
Barcamp Professor (Retd.) department of EEE, NIE, Mysuru


BARCAMP on E Vehicles – Needs and A workshop on “IoT and Embedded System” was

VVCE. And Guest of honor was
Dr. D J Ravi, Dean – Academics and Dr. G B Krishnappa, Dean - R and D. The Head of the department
Dr. Shobha Shankar addressed about the ESPIN club and Objectives of the Club. The coordinators of the
ESPIN club is Prof. Lokesh C and Prof. Babu Rajendra Prasad .

VERGE — Vidyavardhaka Electrical
Research Group for Excellence was Inaugurated
on 16th October 2019. The Chief Guest of the
function was Dr. K G Basavakumar, Professor of
Mechanical Engineering Department, RNSIT,
Bengaluru. Principal Dr. B Sadashive Gowda,
Dean Academic Dr. D J Ravi, Dean R&D
Dr. G B Krishnappa, staff and students EEE
department were present for the Inauguration.
Approximately 124 student members have
volunteered themselves to get involved in the
research work under this club. The Chief Guest
highlighted the importance of Research in the
present day context and all the dignitaries expressed
their gladness for their presence in the function

VEEE-OUTREACH CLUB was inaugurated on

16 November 2019, The function was presided by the

principal of vidyavardhaka college of engineering,

higher primary school Hinkal Smt. Hemavathi, club

co-ordinators Prof. Raghunath.M.J and

Prof. Goutham.B. After the inauguration function there

was an awareness program for the school children

about computer. The students were of higher

primary grade. The sessions were conducted in 4

different aspects namely the history of computer, ba-

sics of computer, MS-word & Paint. The sessions

were taken by the student volunteers.

As a part of ESPIN, the department organized 24 Hours
“State Level Hackathon” on “Save Farming - Save
Forest - Save India” on 12 – 13 November 2019. The
main objective of the event is to identify the problems
which are extracted from the event “Ride for a Cause”
which was held on 12.10.2019. Totally 16 teams
consisting of 64 participants took part in the event from
various colleges. Alumni of VVCE, Mr. Nuthan Prasanna,
Entrepreneur, gave technical assistance to the teams to
come out with the appropriate solution.

Dr. K Gopala Reddy is appointed as member for Board of Examiners, VTU, Mysore region
Dr. K Gopala Reddy delivered a talk on “DC Machines and Alternators”, on 22/10/2019 to JSS Polytechnic Students.

Prof. D. BABU RAJENDRA PRASAD, delivered a talk on “Self-Analysis and Emotional Quotient in Higher Education ” on 14th October
2019 at VVCE.
Prof. D Babu Rajendra Prasad, Prof Raghunath M and Prof. Avinash R have successfully completed NPTEL Online Certification Course on
“DC Microgrid”.
Prof Raghunath M J has successfully completed edX online course on “Incorporating Renewable Energy in Electricity Grid”.
Prof. Gowtham N, Dept. of EEE, delivered a Keynote talk on " Grid Integration, Issues and Power Quality: Brief Insights and Mitigation
techniques" at the International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovation-2019, Bangkok, organized by IEEE PES Bangkok section.
Prof. Reshma V P & Prof. Anoop H A have successfully completed NPTEL Online Certification Course on “Teaching and Learning in Gen-
eral Programs”.
Prof. Gowtham B has successfully completed NPTEL Online Certification Course on “Introduction to Smart Grid”.
Sanjan P S and Yamini N G, students of VII sem, Dept. of EEE, presented a paper titled "Analysis of Current Harmonics in Various Do-
mestic Loads: A Case Study", at the International Conference on Power, Energy and Innovation-2019, Bangkok, organized by IEEE PES
Bangkok section.
Nischitha K N Gowda of V sem represented VVCE in H H Jagadguru Dr. Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamy Memorial Women Throwball
Tournament held at JSS STU and won First Place.
2 teams participated in KAGADA 2019 on 21st of October 2019, the Sixteenth National Level Annual Technical Student Conference at
UVCE out of which one team secured 3rd place whose members include Thirumalesh M J, V Preetham Shenoy, Sankarshan S Kulkarni,
Ranga Kowshik HP.
Mridula Chandrakar, Nouman Ahmed & Mohammed Habeeb of V sem had participated in State level Hackathon organised by Dept of EEE,
ATME Mysuru and won the 1st prize
