THE INSTITUTE

U. V. Patel College of Engineering was established in 2006 and it has been offering undergraduate programmes in civil
engineering since 2008. Since its inception, the department has offered quality education and practical knowledge to
students. The main factors behind this success are experienced faculty members and good infrastructure with well-
maintained laboratories. The Department of Civil Engineering since its commencement constantly strives for the
betterment of students as well as staff by organizing various curricular and extracurricular activities. Well-qualified
faculty members are working in the department having expertise in the different domains of civil engineering.
Department is well suited with Infrastructural facilities and Logistics to support students.

PROGRAMS OFFERED (UG, PG, Ph.D)

B. Tech Civil Engineering: Passed HSC (10+2) in science stream with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer
Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational
subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship (any of the three) and obtained at
least 45% marks (40% marks for reserved categories) in the above subjects taken together from an authorized board.
D2D Civil Engineering with minimum 45% or 5.0 CGPA (40% or 4.5 CGPA for reserved categories).
M.Tech Civil Engineering : Passed Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks
(45% marks for reserved categories) in the graduation.
Ph. D. Civil : M.E. / M. Tech. in particular specialization with 50% marks or equivalent

CONTINUOUS EVALUATION

The students are expected to fulfil all requirements of continuous internal evaluation which includes laboratory work,
projects, tasks, presentations, assignment, class test, viva etc. stipulated by the Institute from time to time which
helps them in 360-degree learning.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Alumni meet is a gathering of former students of an
institution and it is a place where the institution feels proud of
seeing its successful alumni. During their meet, the alumni
community shares their experience of the outside world
which they faced after stepping out of the institution and
always come with a helping hand to the institute for the
goodwill of students.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

To ignite creativity among civil engineering students and to
make them familiar with the practical side of their course
work, the department arranged visits to the construction
industry and make them understand real practice and
management through interaction, working methods and
employment practices.

WORKSHOP / SEMINAR

The Department of Civil Engineering organizes workshops
and seminars on the professionally relevant issue and
modern practices for students, academicians, industry
executives and government officials.

CONVERGENCE CIVILITES: A TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM

Department provides a platform to students of civil engineering across the nation to compete, learn, and present
novelty ideas by making models, preparing posters and presenting reseach papers under ‘Civilites’ organized every
year.

Along with the academic activities, the Department of Civil Engineering is generating revenue through the constant
involvement in various consultancy projects and testing of civil engineering materials. So far around Rupees 1 crore
plus revenue has been generated by offering services to renowned agencies like ONGC, GIDC, UGVCL, Honda
Motors, Topson Energy, Perfect Construction Company, Super Construction Company and many others.
