What is a LENNEL Configuration?
By placing the Earth wire between the Live and
Neutral wire, they can’t be close enough to one
another to cause a short circuit.

Multiple benefits are:
• Simpler circuit board resulting in the ability to

use wider and stronger circuit board tracks
• Less likely to short circuit on the board from

minor damage
• Less likely to short circuit on the terminal

blocks if there has been poor insertion of the
mains cable
• Easier to wire. When the wire is cut, it
automatically makes the LEN switch to NEL
due to the wire making a 180˚ turn
