To join the NDA, however, one must first apply. Here, we have provided a step-by-
step guide on how to fill out the application form for the NDA. We have also
provided a list of the documents required, along with the important dates to
remember and tips for filling out the form correctly. So, read on to gain confidence
and knowledge to fill out the form without any hassle.
Steps for filling out the NDA form
Step 1 - Registration
The candidate has to register on the official site of the UPSC first by filling in the
details asked, such as name, minority status, email ID, mobile number etc.
After that, the candidates have to click on the NDA Application form 2023. Here
they have to enter their personal details (name, date of birth, father’s name,
mother’s name, Aadhaar number, nationality, fee remission allowed, community,
marital status, etc.), address, and educational qualifications. The candidate has to
then select the education qualification from the drop-down menu.
Further, the candidates have to enter their complete address, email ID, and contact
number.
Step 2 - Choosing of branch preference
In the next step, the candidates have to select the branch they prefer- Indian Army,
Indian Navy or Indian Air Force. They can select their preferences in order. The
candidates also have to enter whether they are students of Sainik/military school
or sons of JCO/NCO or any other rank officer.
Step 3 - Verifying of the details
The candidates are then asked to verify the details filled in by them. A page
appears where all the details entered by the candidate are filled in, and he/she is
required to make the changes (if any) accordingly. Remember that the NDA does
not allows correction after the successful submission of the form.
Step 4 - Registration ID Generation
A registration ID is displayed on the screen. It also shows other information like
name, father’s name, etc. Also, the candidate's registration ID will be sent to the
email address entered during registration.
Step 5 - Fee Payment
The candidate is then asked to make the fee payment. This can be done through
cash/credit card/debit card or net banking. There is also a ‘Pay by Cash’ option.
For this, the candidate is required to take the printout of the system-generated
Pay-in-slip. Then the fee is to be deposited in the nearby SBI branch on the next
working day. Remember that the fee is non-refundable.

Step 6 - Selection of exam centre
The candidates, after fee payment, are required to choose the NDA exam centre
according to their convenience. Only three exam centres can be chosen. The
allotment of the centre will be done on a first-apply-first-allot basis.
Step 7 - Uploading of the documents
In the final step, the candidates have to upload all the documents asked. A list of
documents required for the NDA is given below. The file size of the document should
be more than 20kb and less than 300kb. The candidates can then View or print their
application form by clicking on the View/Print link. But before that, the candidate
has to agree to the declarations.

The photo-identification card must be in PDF format (Aadhar Card, Voter Card,
PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, School Photo ID, or any other photo

NDA Application Form Withdrawal
There are times when an applicant has to withdraw their application. This can
be done online as well. Candidates must remember that the withdrawal link of
the application form will be available a few days after the last date for
applying for the NDA.
When the candidate decides to withdraw the NDA online application form,
they must first log in to their account and click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab. The
candidate then gets a withdrawal form link. Here, all the necessary details,
such as registration ID, name, father’s name, mother’s name, etc., are to be
filled in. Ensure that all the details are filled since the form cannot be withdrawn
from incomplete details.
After entering the details, the candidate has to agree to the terms and
conditions by checking in a box. The candidate then gets separate OTPs in the
email ID and phone number provided by the candidate. Upon entering the
OTPs, the request for withdrawing the form can be made. After the acceptance
of the request, the receipt must be printed. A system-generated message will
be sent to the email and phone number on successful completion of the
withdrawal of the NDA application form.
It is important to note that once an application has been withdrawn, no
modifications can be made. If the applicant wishes to apply again, they must
start the process from scratch and submit a completely new online application
form. Also, remember that the fees for the application form cannot be refunded
back. So, if the candidate wishes to re-apply after the withdrawal, they have to
pay the fees again. Additionally, the NDA will not hold the place of an
applicant who has withdrawn their application form, as the competition is
intensely tough.
