I am a youngest child from twelve siblings. As a young one I got
more attention from my parents and also my siblings. Also, I am the
only one who close with father. "Father, I want money to go
shopping tomorrow, " I said to my father. While the other siblings
were afraid of my father probably because my father was too fierce
in the past. But when the first nephew was born, all attention was
focused on him. Year after year the number of my nephews
increased. Now, I have fifteen nephews.

Since my nephews was increased I have
always been a nanny at home where I had to
pay attention to them too. I have realized that
every my nephew has a different
development. For example, Izzah can count
from one to ten when she was three years old
but Syahirah cannot count it.

After high school I was at home and my two nephews were also at
home. They are siblings where an older brother named Afif and a
younger brother named Amru. Afif is four years old while Amru is two
years old. Since I took care of them I have seen a very significant
development between them. Among the developmental differences
that I have seen were in terms of learning. Although Amru is still young
but he is more interested in learning than Afif. He liked to watch videos
on You Tube like ABC songs, 123 songs and colours songs. ”Sukah, I
want to watch the ABC video, " said Amru to me. Then, I opened it on
my phone and gave it to him. From my observation, Amru only took
two weeks to memorize what he learned. and when children repeat the
same thing a lot, they remember it faster.

Moreover Armu is very interested in going to school. "Amru, let's go to
school!" I said to him. "Yes, come on!" Amru replied enthusiastically.
But due to this covid 19 epidemic he only managed to get to
kindergarten for six months. While, Afif is very uninterested in going to
school or studying. He just watched cartoon videos on YouTube. He
quickly gets bored when I teach ABC or 123. So because of that I have
done various ways of teaching to Afif like teaching using flash cards
and things like candy and games.

However, I have also seen similarities in child development where children
are very easily influenced by surrounding conditions such as speech and
movement. They are easily influenced by people close to them and things
they often see. This also applies to Amru and Afif. From the aspect of
speech, they first observe what is said by people around them and the
words they observe are words that are often repeated by adults. After
that they also use the word. Usually their focus only short words. While
from the aspect of movement, they also observe the movement of adults
first. After that, they repeat the movement, although not the same, but
the people around understand what they are doing. In this case I think
adults or people close to children should speak only using kind words and
showing polite movements. This is because children cannot distinguish
between good and bad things.

Even though I didn’t get the attention from
the family like I used to and had to be a
nanny, but I like my lifestyle now. This is
because I am able to learn various child
development and this also makes me a more
mature person. Plus, I really like kids.
