ACS is a society that bridges the gap between Sunway University and College (KL) students
and the corporate world. With that being said, our society provides a means for all Sunway
students to have access to not only knowledge in regards to the accounting and commerce
field, but also the opportunity for students to network and experience hands-on learning
from distinguished firms related to the industry. With the intention to do so, we collaborate
and form partnerships with relevant firms and businesses in order to conduct talks and
workshops for those that are keen to know more about their future or potential workplace.
Our Objectives:
To provide students with key insights on the knowledge needed to build a foundation
for their future career in terms of soft skills and what is required of them to transverse
into the corporate environment.
To give students the opportunity to network and affiliate themselves with leading firms
in the accounting and commerce industry.
To provide current and up-to-date knowledge on the accounting and commerce field.
To establish as one of the most proactive societies under Sunway College (KL) and
Sunway University, and also other universities across the country.
In order to achieve these objectives and establish Sunway as a hub for all events, we attract
the best minds, plan the best events, and build a network of talented students to form a
diversified team that promotes intellectual stimulation. We also strive to establish and
maintain good relations with renowned firms and professional bodies within the industry
by forming partnerships and collaborating with them in making our events a success.
At present, the Sunway Education Group is estimated to have more than 24,000 students,
and out of the total student population, an average of 300 are recruited as ACS members
every year.
Chapter 4: FORWARD! ACSploring the Unknown is our virtual flagship
event that will be conducted on the 23rd to 24th of April 2022. “FORWARD”
represents the traits of Focus, Open-mindedness, Resilience, Willingness,
Action, Readiness and Dedication which are fundamental traits that this event
aims to articulate.
The 2-day event will feature insightful talks, workshops and panel discussions
with professionals from leading professional services firms and other influential
commerce companies in Malaysia. Each session will also incorporate a Q&A for
participants to partake in a discussion with the speakers in a hands-on manner.
We aim for the talks, workshops and panel discussion to contemplate on topics
widely relevant to accounting students by delving into professional services,
recruitment matters, employability skills, excel and more. In addition to
exposure to up-to-date knowledge, students will get the opportunity to
participate in games for a mock interview with a firm and lucky draws for prizes
from our sponsors. All participating firms will be able to promote themselves as
a prospective place of employment to future accounting graduates, and
likewise, attendees will be able to benefit from the sharing of their expertise
throughout the event.
Event Objectives
To provide purposeful and insightful commentary on accounting and
commerce-related matters.
To provide participants with the opportunity to raise queries and seek
professional advice from experts within the industry.
To become a channel for students to learn about companies and fields of
interest and broaden the scope of their future careers.
To bridge gaps and build relationships between the students, working
professionals and firms.
