The Haircut

My twin brother was angry at me because of something I already did. Prior to
him being mad at me, I accidentally drew on his shirt with a marker. Well actually, it
might have been on purpose, but who really pays attention to the details? Rahul was
laying down on the carpet in the living room. I walked over to his head and noticed that
his hair was uneven. This was when his hair was long enough to hang on his forehead. I
had the sudden urge to cut a tiny piece of his hair. Guess what happened next? I got in
big trouble that day.

Glasses

My older brother, Vamsi, was laying down on the couch in the living room. He
was most likely getting ready to take a nap. My mom, who was also in the living room,
was talking to him. I wanted to get in on the conversation so I ran into the living room.
My brother was wearing his glasses. He had just taken them off because he was going to
sleep. I had no idea that his glasses were on the ground. Then, I ran over to my brother
and something unexpected happened. Snap! All the sudden I looked down and his
glasses were broken!

Donkey Kong

Have any video gamers ever wondered how Donkey Kong
received his name? Even if they haven’t, there is a strange but true
explanation. Donkey Kong is an ape-like character that is used in
virtual games such as Super Mario Kart. He is a really popular
character, but there is something about him that not all his fans know.
The developer for Donkey Kong wanted to find a name that describes
stupid ape. Shigeru Miyamoto, the person who named and was the one
of the main contributors for Donkey Kong, presumed that Donkey
meant stupid in the English language. One of the multiple dictionary
definitions of donkey is “a stupid or foolish person.” Miyamoto wasn’t
wrong about donkey meaning stupid.

Metal Printing
Innovators have come up with a way to enhance 3D

printing. Instead of using plastic, creators have figured out
a way to print metal. Developers have now come up with 3D
metal printing. The metal printer can make it much easier
for businesses to manufacture their products. This product is
a cheap alternative for businesses because in the long run it
can create much more in less time. If lots of businesses
choose this alternative, they can easily mass produce their
products. Replacement car parts can be made using this
printer. It takes about a day to make certain car parts. The
3D metal printer can reduce this time.

Lung Preservation
The FDA has just approved the lung preservation system on

March 22, 2018. This machine was designed to maintain donor lungs
until the transplant is done. Donor lungs are lungs that are given to a
patient from another person. These lungs can be matched to the
recipient’s body. The exact name for the newly approved device is the
OCS lung system. To keep the donor lungs intact, the machine
supplies it with oxygen and nutrients. The machine does a
phenomenal job in decreasing the time in which the lungs do not have
blood flowing to them. The new lung preservation system will benefit
lung transplant patients because it keeps their new lungs healthy.
Patients will have a less likely chance of having to come back for
another operation because of a lung malfunction.

The Ladybug 5

One day there was science class going on. Usually, students dissect life forms in science class.
The catch was that the science teacher was vegan. She devoted her life to never ever kill any form of life.
This day was an unusual day. The science teacher was pacing back and forth teaching her students a
lesson. All of the sudden she felt something under her shoe, so she picked up her foot. The teacher only got
a glance of whatever she stepped on. She thought she stepped on a ladybug. Immediately, the teacher froze
up and jumped on a desk and started crying. That day all the science classes were cancelled. The funny
thing was that she stepped on a red M&M, but for some reason the students who very much did not want to
be at school didn’t tell her.

The Big Divorce

There was a family of four people. The parents lived together in California and the kids both
lived in different places. The couple had a son and a daughter. One day, the father decided it was time to
break his kids the news. His marriage was over. First, the dad called his son. Unfortunately, his son did
not take it too well. The father didn’t want to have to keep repeating the new so he asked his son to tell his
sister. The daughter did not take the news too well either. The children told their parents they were coming
and not to do anything until the children reach California. These were the father’s next words: “Honey,
they’re coming for Christmas now what should we say for Halloween?”

Lasagna is one of the best foods on the planet. It is a family
favorite, but it didn’t just become a family favorite overnight. It has a
backstory. Lets go back twelve years. It was right around July 1st, 2005.
Some people refer to this day as a random day, but I or should I say we
refer to it as our birthday. In case you didn’t know, I am a twin. Just like
any other day in the hospital, my mom would receive dinner every
night. One night my mother got lasagna for dinner. As she cut a piece
and took a bite, she fell in love. My mom knew that she had to figure out
how to make this before we were able to eat solid food. My mom loved
lasagna and now so does the rest of the family. She’s always loved
exploring new foods and even now whenever we go to a restaurant, there is
always something new on the family menu.

Nike MAGS 8
A lot of people spend fifty to one hundred dollars on shoes, but
Nike Mags cost $28,000. They are electronically designed. People are
very attracted to them because they are self-lacing shoes. These
futuristic-looking shoes took 25 years to create. The name MAG stands
for Magnetic Anti-Gravity. These shoes were very difficult to make. The
creator, Michael J. Fox, started this project in the 80’s. The shoes were
designed so intricately that there were only 89 pairs created. Those 89
pairs were dispersed through a drawing that was held on October
eleventh. All the proceeds later went to the Michael J. Fox foundation.
The Nike Mag is a grey colored shoe. Its automatic laces are a thick
white material. The tops of the shoe and the Nike logo are also colored
white. The back of the shoe has the words Nike MAG written on the back
in blue letters. There is also the word Nike in blue, illuminated letters on

the front of the shoe.

Popsicle
The popsicle is favorited by tons of people all over the world. Many
people know how to make a popsicle, but do they know how it was
invented? It was a cold night in 1905, when an eleven year old left his
soda glass outside. He didn’t finish drinking the soda though. He left a
stick in his glass because he was mixing his drink around. The eleven
year old genius who created popsicles was named Frank Epperson.
Epperson called it the “Epsicle”, but his children called the popsicle. That
was because they referred to Frank by the name papa. Frank accidently
left his cup outside, but his mistake made him rich. Frank took his
accident and made it famous. Now, almost two billion popsicles are sold
every year! Isn’t it cool to now that one of people’s favorite foods was
created on accident? Popsicles were created about an entire century ago.

This picture represents my family. We light candles during Diwali. 10
That was what we were celebrating during the picture. My mother invited

lots of other families to celebrate the Festival of Lights. That is what
Diwali is known as. We all come together and eat a warm, well-cooked

dinner and many sweets.
