Saint Joseph’s AFC is one of the biggest amateur football clubs in the Swansea area, the club was formed in 1921 in the Greenhill area of the city with strong links to the Catholic Church, school and community. In the early years, a priest who had moved to St Joseph’s cathedral from Glasgow called in a favour from the famous Celtic FC who donated a kit to the club. The green and white colours are still proudly worn by the club to this very day.The club has had many successful periods in the over 100 years spent in the Swansea Senior League most notably in the 1970s, 1980s, 2000s which saw the club lift the West Wales Cup, Swansea Senior League Division 1 title, Swansea Senior Cup and Open cup, as well as success in the Reserve Divisions and Cup competitions.Recent years have seen the club grow stronger and prosper under the stewardship of the current management team and committee, winning the Open Cup in the 2022/23 season followed by a record breaking season in 2023/24 in which the club achieved the League and Cup double winning every league game in an invincible season. The great success in the 2023/24 season led to the club being promotedfrom the Swansea Senior League to the West Wales Premier League.
This is the second season for our Youth team. The Youth team had very competitive First season reaching the Championship Semi-final, only just missing out on penalties. Many of the boys have this year stepped up following a very successful Under 16s season in the Swansea League - winning the Swansea Under 16s Cup and finishing Runners-Up in the Under 16s Boys Club of Wales Federation Cup.
Founded in 1949 by Glyn Cole, from recreational activities at the Ragged School in central Swansea, and initially as a Youth team, Ragged School AFC has long been a powerhouse of the Swansea Senior League. The club’s identity was forged over five decades under the ‘triumvirate’ of the late Maurice Hogg, the late Mal Bailey, and Ernie Morgan, whose dedication helped establish Ragged School as one of the most successful amateur sides in Wales. Our history is defined by an incredible run of honours, including 4 FAW Trophies,7 West Wales Cups, 9 Swansea Senior League Titles, 14 Senior Cups, 6 Open Cups and 1 Gwalia Cup.Several promotions and trophies defined the club in the early years with the club winning their first major trophy in 1968, the West Wales Amateur Cup. This was the season another club stalwart joined, Clive ‘Spider’ Jones.Youth success also accompanied Senior success through these years with the 16s, 17s, and 18s continuing to win trophies throughout the 1960s and 70s. The Youth allowing the club to form a 3rd team.Into the 1980s began a long period of success that would continue for over 30 years, specifically of what is known as our ‘greatest season’ of 1989/90 where the club under the management of John Cornelius built a team that would win the Welsh Intermediate Championship cup, the first Swansea side
in its 99 year history to win the trophy. The successes and achievements that the club enjoyed through the years has been underpinned by our junior and youth teams, but today is our first West Wales final since Clive ‘Spider’ Jones success in 1987. This Youth team have had a great first season so far with many of these players breaking into our senior 1st team squad, and hopefully many of the others not far behind.Reaching today’s final is a major milestone in our current journey. The team is part managed by Lee Griffin, alongside Lee Mages, with the assistance of Michael Bennett. Lee Griffin is a major figure in the club who was instrumental in much of the club's past success, including our previous league titles, FAW, and West Wales Cup wins. His experience, combined with the grit of this young squad, has returned Ragged School AFC to a major final. Our aims for the future are to build on our current strong position and return Ragged School AFC to the pinnacle of local football. Alongside our search for a permanent home ground. We remain dedicated to providing a pathway for Swansea’s young players to represent this historic club with pride. Our summary could have gone on for the full programme, and on reading the ’50 years of the Ragged School AFC 1962-2012’ you can see why. There are too many names to mention that have been influential in the club with many such as Neil’ Spider’ Jones, Gino Dictaldo, Ernie Morgan, John Cornelius, Leighton Roberts, Lee Griffin, Dario Diiulio, still involved in the club to this day as committee or Life Members.

Giants Grave Football Club have been members of the Neath & District Football League since 1973, being the second oldest football club in Briton Ferry, superseded only by Welsh League Briton Ferry Athletic.Being a village orientated club, Giants Grave AFC was formed as a senior team of the Giants Grave Boys Club, the team being started by a group of football enthusiasts amongst whom were Maxi Howells, John Diamond, Jack Anthony, Ronnie Thomas and Selwyn Myles, changing their name to Giants Grave for the 1975-76 season. Many local characters have been synonymous with the cub over the years, Clifford Wright, Steve (Shamps) James, Martin Willis, Wayne (Eddy) Williams and Madwyn Griffiths, to name but a few who have worn the club colours with pride. Also there are the behind the scenes committed and administrators who should not be forgotten, amongst whom are the current chairman Michael Thomas, former chairman Mark Diamond, Tony Hooper and the ever enduring Alan (Slobbo) Williams. Throughout the years the club has been successful in winning titles and trophies, culminating in the 2007-08 season under the guidance of manager Glyn Smith and coach Paul Evans, winning the Neath League Premier Division title and the Neath League Premier Division Cup, as well as the Borough Cup, whilst under the guidance of joint managers, Lyndon
Johnson and Martin Price, the Reserve team won the Reserve Division 1 title and both the Reserve Division Open Cup and Reserve Division 1 Cup titles.
Mumbles Rangers remains the largest amateur club in Wales, being founded in 1950 by Billy Johns BEM who despite being confined to a wheelchair for most of his life was extremely passionate and devoted to giving young people the opportunity to enjoy sports. This foundational ethos remains strong in the club today some 76 years later, with Billy’s passion for football now shared among over 700 players and almost 200 coaches spanning all age and gender groups.Mumbles Rangers is proud to be accredited as a Platinum Status Club by the FAW which reflects its commitment in high quality standards in coaching for all players at its first class facilities at Underhill Park. The facilities consist of 2 grass pitches, a high quality 3G pitch, 9 changing rooms and a multifunctional community hub for the enjoyment of its players, coaches, supporters and the wider community. The Mumbles Rangers Youth section this year has two independently run teams in the WWYL (Rangers and Albion) with significant numbers of players in each squad, the majority of whom have played for Mumbles for many years, reflecting the success of the Club’s junior football development policies. The Club’s youth teams have enjoyed success in recent seasons with Rangers winning a hard fought victory over CKSV in last season’s Plate final. In the current year Mumbles Rangers Albion struggled with injuries to key players in the first part of the season but the strength in depth of their squad
has meant they have made it through to the plate final and will push on for the remaining league games at the end of the season. This season a number of youth players from both squads have also featured in matches for the Mumbles Rangers Senior Men’s first, second and third teams, with each of those senior teams still competing for end of season league and cup honours.Mumbles Rangers Albion Youth have been captained by Josh Mugford for many seasons, with his vice captain being Malachi Williams. Goalkeeping duties rest with Sam Phillips, with an occasional cameo from Dan Matata. With numerous injuries and absences this season goals have been widely shared between the squad and our current top scorers include Matthew Lewis with 11 in 7 matches, Noah Thomas with 10 in 11 matches and Will Ingham with 9 in 7 matches across all youth competitions. The Mumbles Rangers Albion Youth squad would very much like to thank all of our players, their families and other supporters for many years of loyal following and also wish all players, coaches, officials and supporters involved in the West Wales Youth League Finals Day all the very best for today and for the rest of the season and beyond.Brett, Matt, Stu and MattMumbles Rangers Albion Youth Coaches 2025/26

Today’s match is being played in support of the Jac Lewis FoundationIn 2019 the Ammanford community was rocked by the sudden death of Jac and through that grief the community came together with a determination to try and prevent as much as possible losing another member of the community to suicide. The community drive and passion allowed the foundation to become a reality. The Jac Lewis Foundation is a charity committed to supporting mental health and wellbeing, formed working across Wales with adults and children. Our mission is to create an environment where mental health is openly discussed, and individuals feel empowered to seek help and support. We aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, fostering a culture where it is okay to talk about mental health and wellbeing. We provide accessible, professional wellbeing and mental health services within our local communities, ensuring that support is readily available to those who need it.Additionally, we work to strengthen community resilience by training individuals to become wellbeing mentors, enabling them to offer support to others during difficult times and help build stronger, more resilient communities.Website: jaclewisfoundation.co.ukEmail: [email protected]: 03301 336510148 St Helens Road, Swansea SA1 4DFReg Ch No 1185246
