Students who fail to register their Courses will not be allowed to sit for their final examination. 9.1 Online Course Registration Online Course registration must be completed before the beginning of each trimester. Students are advised to complete the following before the start of a new trimester: - a) Refer to the announcement by the Examination and Records Unit on the registration schedule. b) Meet student’s academic advisor to plan and get advice on the Course registration c) Ensure that student follows the Programme Structure and fulfill the requirements for Course registration d) Students need to log into MMU Portal at http://online.mmu.edu.my 9.2 Steps for Online Course Registration a) Key in Student ID Number, CLiC Password and click “LOGIN” to log on into the Course Registration web page. Check the particulars carefully. If there are any errors, report it to the Examination & Records Unit immediately. b) Click `Self Service’ > `My Planner’ and choose the Courses 9.3 Academic Load [Regulation 7 (no. 6)] a) Students shall register all Courses as according to the programme structure by trimester. b) Students who fail to follow the programme structure are Courseed to the Minimum and maximum academic load as prescribed below: Trimester Min Credit Hours Max Credit Hours 14 lecture-week trimester 12 CH 20 CH 7 lecture-week trimester 6 CH 10 CH c) A student who does not register for any Course by week 4 and has not applied for Leave of Absence, the status shall be changed to ‘Dismissed’. 9.4 Add/Drop, Withdraw and Quit Adding and/or dropping of any Course should be done during the first two weeks of each trimester. a) Withdrawal (Effective from Tri 1, 2012/2013) Students shall be allowed to withdraw from Course that they have registered based on the following: For 14 lecture-week trimester, the last date for Course withdrawal is by week 7 For 8 lecture-week trimester, the last date for Course withdrawal is by week 4. This practice also takes into consideration one’s academic load, in which it should not fall below the predetermined minimum load. Trimester: 1 & 2 (Long Trimester) Drop Period: Week 1 & Week 2 Withdrawal Period: Week 3 - Week 7 Trimester: 3 (Short Trimester) Drop Period: Week 1 & week 2 Withdrawal Period: Week 3 - Week 4 b) Students who decide to cease their studies are required to notify the Examination and Records Unit in writing. Students who fail to do so are liable to pay all fees and other related charges for the entire semester to MMU.
Faculty Information Booklet: March 2024 Intake 33 | F a c u l t y o f B u s i n e s s c) Late withdrawal will not be entertained. 9.5 Leave of Absence (LOA) a) Leave of absence is defined as a student’s request to be away from the University for a minimum of a trimester period and a maximum of three trimesters. b) Leave of absence may be requested only for national services, serious illnesses, financial problems, or compassionate reasons. Application for Leave of Absence must be supported by official documents. c) An application for Leave of Absence must be made before the end of Week 7 of a Long Trimester or Week 4 of a Short Trimester. d) A student who is on a barring list will be automatically disqualified from applying for Leave of Absence. e) The official date of Leave of Absence is the date when the student submits his online leave of absence application. f) No tuition fee will be charged if the Leave of Absence is made in Week 1 or Week 2. Students are required to refer to Regulation 7, Part II on the Refund of Tuition Fees. g) A student who is on Leave of Absence will still be charged Resource Fees. h) Despite being granted LOA (leave of absence), a student shall sit for Supplementary Examination when the Course is offered by faculties/centres. Failing which the ‘I’ status will be converted to ‘F’. i) A student on Leave of Absence should not enroll in another academic institution during the period of leave without prior approval from the University. j) Except for National Service, Student Exchange Programme, Medical reasons and other approved reasons by Senate, the period of the student’s leave or ‘away from the university’ shall be counted as part of the student’s candidature period. k) A student who fails to register for any Course after the end of the leave of absence period shall have his status changed to ‘Dismissed’. l) Students should discuss with their academic advisors prior to Leave of absence. International students must report to International Office before applying for Leave of Absence. 9.6 No Refund Policy [Regulation 7 (no. 11)] All students shall be governed under the Refund of Tuition Fee as mentioned below: a) 100% of the course fee shall be refunded if a student withdraws from a Course within the first and second week of any trimester. b) No refund shall be granted for any withdrawal of Course after the first two weeks of any trimester 9.7 100% Payment of Tuition Fees before sitting for Examination a) Students must fully pay their tuition fees before they are allowed to sit for the examination. 9.8 Maximum Duration [Regulation 7, Part IV] a) The maximum period of study for a 3 year degree programme shall be five (5) years and for a 4 year degree programme shall be seven (7) years. b) The maximum period of study for a Foundation programme shall be two (2) years. c) The maximum period of study for a Diploma programme shall be four (4) years. d) If a student changes Faculty or Programme, the receiving Faculty Board shall decide whether the student shall start afresh, unless the change is only a change of specialization or major. He shall be governed under the latest University’s Rules, Regulations and Policies. Note: Please refer to the University Rules and Regulations for more information.

GPA = Total Grade Points Total Credit Hours 10.2.3 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) CGPA is the average cumulative point equivalent of a student from the beginning of trimester computed by dividing the Cumulative Total Grade Points by the Cumulative Total Credit Hours. Implementation of Passing Mark 40% The passing mark 40% (grade D) will be implemented starting Trimester 3 2022/2023 (Term 2230) onward for all programmes in career Foundation, Diploma, Bachelor (UGRD & UGDE) EXCEPT for programmes governed by professional bodies, i.e. Bachelor of Law (FOL), Bachelor of Accounting (FOB and FOM) and Diploma in Accounting (FOB). b. Courses involved i. The faculty is responsible to determine the courses that will be tagged to passing mark 40% (grade D). ii. Law student who is taking the elective course offered by other faculties with passing mark 40% - the passing mark is 40% (grade D). However, if they are taking an elective course offered by Faculty of Law - the passing mark is 50% iii. Student from other faculties who is taking courses offered by Faculty of Law - the passing mark is 40% (grade D). c. Passed Status i. Students who obtain grade C-, D+ or D for the courses passing mark 40% is passed and not entitled for the supplementary Exam. ii. Students who are absent for the final exam without any reason will get grade U that is equivalent to failing the subject even though obtaining the coursework mark 40 and above. d. Supplementary Exam i. Students who obtain grade (F) is fail for that particular subject and not eligible for Supplementary Exam as second attempt. However, the Faculty Board during the BoE meeting may recommend to grant the Supplementary Exam as second attempt based on case to case basis i.e. the student is in the final trimester and the only subject left to complete. ii. The students who obtain grade (I) is automatically be granted the supplementary examination as first attempt. The supplementary examination will be held in the first week of the new trimester. iii. Requirement supplementary examination for subject passing mark 50 is remain unchanged.

Pass - have obtained a GPA or/and CGPA of 2.00 and above. 2. Pending - have obtained a GPA or/and CGPA of 2.00 and above and have been granted a supplementary examination as a first attempt (I) or incomplete grade for Industrial Training. 3. Supplementary - have obtained a GPA or/and CGPA of 2.00 and above and are allowed to sit the supplementary examinations as a second attempt (*) for the subjects in which they have failed. 4. Pending, Supp - have obtained a GPA or/and CGPA of 2.00 and above and are allowed to sit the supplementary examinations as a first (I) and second attempt (*) for the subjects in which they have failed. 5. Probation - have obtained a GPA and CGPA of less than 2.00 6. Probation, Supp - have obtained a GPA and CGPA of less than 2.00 and are allowed to sit the supplementary examinations as a second attempt (*) for the subjects in which they have failed. 7. Probation, Pending, Supp - have obtained a GPA and CGPA of less than 2.00 and have been granted: 7(i) supplementary examination as a 1st attempt (I) AND 7(ii) supplementary examination as a 2nd attempt (*) 8. Probation, Pending - have obtained a GPA and CGPA of less than 2.00 and have been granted a supplementary examination as a first attempt (I) 9. Terminated - have obtained a GPA and CGPA of below 2.00 for two consecutive trimesters 10. NA - Did not have a GPA and CGPA for a particular trimester due to either all subjects registered are P/NP subjects or withdrawing all the subjects or a combination of both. After the Supplementary Exam only four status are remain – Pass, Probation, Terminated and NA. f. Graduation i. The student will not be graduating if pass all courses stipulated in programme structure but obtained a CGPA less than 2.00. ii. The students are required to repeat any course(s) to increase the CGPA at least 2.00. 10.5 Supplementary Examination (Date Last Amendment: Senate Meeting No 218 on 1 July 2021) 1. Supplementary Examination’s Administrative Fee of RM 50.00 per course will be charged to students. Students will be invoiced for this fee and the amount must be paid before the release of the Supplementary Examination Result. 2. The eligibility of a student to sit for a supplementary examination is NOT automatically granted. 3. The eligibility of a student to sitfor a supplementary examination must be recommended by the Board of Examiners (BOE) for Senate’s approval. 4. The BOE will make two (2) types of recommendations: a) eligibility to sit for the supplementary examination as 1 st attempt(Grade ‘I’), b) eligibility to sit for the supplementary examination as 2 nd attempt(Grades with ‘*’) 5. Supplementary Examination would be granted for genuine MC or special cases as First (1st) Attempt, and for “Fail” subject as Second (2nd) Attempt with conditions as follows: Level Coursework (Minimum) Overall Marks (Minimum) Foundation, Diploma & Degree 50% 40% 6. For the Supplementary as 2 nd attempt, a student with the recommendation of the BOE can only take a maximum number of supplementary examinations as stated below: a) 14-week Trimester: maximum of 3 papers b) 7-week Trimester: maximum of 2 papers

The following reasons are generally accepted by the BOE when granting supplementary examination as 1st attempt (Grade ‘I’) to a student: a) Has obtained medical certificate and report from the registered MMU Panel Clinics; b) The demise of immediate family members [defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings or grandparents] (supported by death certificates); c) Represented Malaysia/State/University in an official capacity for competitions, conferences, conventions, meetings, and sporting events (supported by a letter from StyLE); d) Involved in accidents (supported by a police report); e) Attended scholarship interviews (supported by a letter); f) Not able to pay tuition fees before Final Examinations (Supported by Finance Division Form). 9. All medical certificates, reports and/or supporting documents MUST be submitted to the ERU Office within two (2) working days from the date of the examination. 10. A student MUST settle his tuition fees before he sits for the Supplementary Examination. He will not be offered the supplementary exam if he fails to settle his tuition fees before the Supplementary Examination. 11. Any other special cases that have not been stipulated in clause (8) above will be recommended by the BOE directly for Senate’s decision. 12. If a student is NOT qualified for the supplementary exam as per clause (5); the Dean may consider, among other factors,the following, in deciding the student’s appealto sitfor the supplementary exam: a) The student is in his Final Year; b) It is the ONLY Course left before graduating or completing the programme (Foundation). In any case, a supplementary exam should only be granted if it is mathematically possible for a student to pass the course. The Dean’s decision shall be presented in the nearest Senate Meeting for Notification. 13. A student is required to sit for the Supplementary Examination scheduled at the beginning of the subsequent new trimester. 14. Students who FAIL to take the supplementary exam, whether as the first or second attempt, will be considered to have failed the course(s). 15. There shall be NO Second Supplementary Examination in any circumstances. 16. Despite being granted LOA (Leave of Absence) OR on Industrial Training, a student shall sit for the Supplementary Examination when the course is offered. Failing to do so shall result in the ‘I’ status being converted to ‘F’. 10.6 Retake of Course Only the best grade will be considered for the computation of the CGPA for students who are repeating Courses. a) When a student is required to repeat a Course, he/she shall be required to re-do the entire coursework and examination for that particular Course. b) [Regulation 6 (no. 5] A student may be allowed to repeat a Course up to a maximum of two times. A student who fails a Course more than two times shall be terminated from his studies. However, he may appeal to the Senate Appeal Committee for reinstatement and to retake the Course. 10.7 Terminated Status a) If a student’s Academic Status is stated as “Terminated”, his/her course of study will be deemed ‘terminated’. b) A student who has been terminated may appeal to the Student Service Centre.
Faculty Information Booklet: March 2024 Intake 38 | F a c u l t y o f B u s i n e s s 10.8 Attendance Any student who has registered a course is compulsory to attend the lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions. Absence is allowed if prior permission is granted by the academician who is responsible for that specific lecture or tutorial. In the case where prior permission cannot be obtained from an academician due to medical or emergency cases, the student is required to obtain immediate permission from the academician due to his/her absence. Absence without permission refers to a student's absence without obtaining permission from academicians or MMU members who are responsible before or after the absence, whichever related. 10.9 Barring Attendance shall be counted immediately from week one (1) of every trimester. Students’ attendance will be counted for all the courses. If the student fails to achieve 80% of the attendance either for lectures, tutorials, labs or studios, he/she shall be barred from sitting for the final examination for that particular course. For the 100% coursework courses of scheduled face-to-face components, students will fail the course if they do not meet the stipulated 80% of the total attendance. Attendance in the blended learning mode will also be counted in the stipulated 80%. Attendance can be determined by various modes that reflect the students’ overall progress in those classes. 10.10 Potential Barring List Students will be on the potential barring list if the percentage of his/her attendance is less than 80% in week 10 (Long Trimester) and week 5 (Short Trimester). The lecturer will make an announcement for students to appeal for unbarring. 10.11 Appeal for Unbar Students are required to submit an official letter together with supporting documents to their respective lecturers for appeal to be unbarred. 10.12 Confirmation barring The Dean of Faculty will finalise the list of students to be barred based on recommendation from the Lecturer and Course Coordinator. The barring list will be submitted to the Examination and Records Unit (ERU) in week 14 (Long Trimester) and week 7 (Short Trimester). Students will receive a notification in their email stating that he/she has been barred for that particular course. The course(s) which is barred will not appear in the examination slip. The attendance should be counted until the day when the barring list is submitted. For students with medical certificates which contribute to more than 20% of the absence in the respective trimester, the Faculty should advise him/her to take leave of absence (LOA) as he/she will be deemed as unfit to go through the whole trimester's workload. Note: Please refer to the University Rules and Regulations for more information.

A zero (0) mark in assignments, projects, or a grade 'F' in Research Project will be awarded if a student is found guilty in plagiarism. The credit transfer policy stated below is approved by Special Senate no. 90 held on 25 November 2016 to be in line with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)’s policy. It takes effect beginning Trimester 2, 2016/17 session. 2. Revision on policy vertical credit transfer - Approved by Senate no. 207 held on 5 March 2020 to be in line with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)’s policy. It takes effect from March 2020. 3. Revision on policy of credit transfer – Approved by Senate Circulation No 210/3/2020 date 12 Sept 2020. Revision is made to the wordings and included the new development from Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). This revision added the policy on credit transfer from Master’s programme to Doctoral degree, MOOCs, APEL-C and MPU. 4. Revision on policy of credit transfer – Approved by Senate Circulation No 217 dated 6 May 2021. Revision is made to the wordings and included the new development from Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA). This revision added the definition of academic residential requirement. 1.0 DEFINITION 1.1 Credit transfer refers to the practice of granting exemption to course/s in a programme on the basis that the requirements of a course or courses have been demonstrated to have been fulfilled by the applicants or learners. This practice allows mobility of learners between programmes, between institutions and between nations.(MQA’s Advisory Note 4, 2017) 1.2 Formal Learning refers to A learning/programme of study delivered within an organised and structured context (preschool, primary school, secondary school, college and university) that may lead to formal recognition or a recognised qualification. (MQA’s Guideline to Good Practice: APEL-C) 1.3 Non-formal Learning - Learning that takes place alongside the mainstream systems of education and training. It may be assessed but does not normally lead to formal certification. (MQA’s Guideline to Good Practice: APEL-C) 1.4 In-formal Learning is normally unintentional learning where learning takes place continuously through life and work experience. (MQA’s Guideline to Good Practice: APEL-C) 1.5 Academic residential requirement - this term means a student needs to spend a specified minimum duration registering and meeting MMU’s course requirements before he/she can be considered as completing MMU’s academic requirement for an eventual award of the academic qualification. 1.6 Credit transfer with grade (Grade transfer) refers to credit value of the transferred course is earned by a student along with the grade. The credit value earned is to be taken into account in fulfilling the graduating credit whilst the grade is to be taken into account in the calculation of GPA/CGPA 1.7 Credit transfer without grade refers to credit value of the transferred course is earned by a student. Only the credit value earned is to be taken into account in fulfilling the graduating credit whilst no grade is to be taken into account in the calculation of GPA/CGPA. 1.8 Course exemption refers to exemption of a course that is required for graduation, but does not contribute to credit requirement for graduation, and does not require course replacement. 2.0 GENERAL 2.1 The applicant must have obtained a minimum grade of C or its equivalent (satisfactory performance or a pass) in the previous course.
Faculty Information Booklet: March 2024 Intake 41 | F a c u l t y o f B u s i n e s s 2.2 The syllabus of the course offered for credit transfer must cover at least 80% syllabus of the corresponding course at MMU. 2.3 Only courses from accredited/ recognized programmes can be considered for credit transfer. 2.4 The credit value of the course from the programme to be transferred must be the same or more than the credit value of the course offered by MMU. 2.5 For credit transfer from formal learning involving programme levels in the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF), only courses from provisionally accredited/fully accredited/recognized programmes can be considered for credit transfer. 2.6 Transfer of credit from a higher-level programme (e.g. Bachelor’s degree) to lower programme (e.g. diploma) is not permitted. 2.7 All academic programmes within MMU shall follow this policy. In the event where, there is a conflict between this policy and conditions of professional body, the clause set by the professional body is to be followed. In this respect, the documents issued by the relevant professional bodies are to be referred to. 2.8 The credit transfer application is subject to the assessment of the receiving faculty and the decision of the faculty is final. 2.9 For Bachelor of Law programme, only non-law related courses may be considered for credit transfer. 3.0 VERTICAL CREDIT TRANSFER 3.1 Credit transfer from a lower level to a higher level qualification or known as vertical credit transfer is allowed in the following circumstances: 3.1.1 Certificate (MQF Level 3) to Diploma (MQF Level 4). The maximum transferrable credit is 30% of the total Diploma programme’s credit. 3.1.2 Diploma (MQF Level 4) to Bachelor’s degree (MQF Level 6). The maximum transferrable credit is 50% (i.e. approximately one year and half of Bachelor's degree duration) of the total programme’s credit with the following conditions: % of credit transfer Minimum Grade 1 - 30 Grade C 31 - 50 Grade B 3.1.3 Advanced Diploma (MQF Level 5). Student who possesses an advanced diploma in addition to a Diploma qualification may apply for consideration for credit transfer of up to a maximum of two years of the Bachelor’s degree duration. Student may join the third year of the programme if the application is successful. 3.1.4 Bachelor’s Degree (MQF Level 6) to Master’s (MQF Level 7). Student who has undertaken core courses of the master’s programme which are also offered as independent elective courses at Bachelor’s degree level and pass the courses with minimum grade B is entitled for a maximum transferrable credit of 30% of the total programme’s credit. 3.1.5 Master’s (MQF Level 7) to Doctoral Degree (MQF Level 8). No credit nor grade transfer is allowed except for exemption of Research Methodology course with conditions stated below: 3.1.5.1 The credit value of the course from the programme to be transferred must be the same or more than the credit value of the course offered by MMU 3.1.5.2 The relevance and level of skills of the Research Methodology course taken must be aligned with the Research Methodology course at the PhD level. 3.1.5.3 For Doctor of Philosophy (Laws) program, if the Research Methodology course or its equivalent was taken from another institution other than MMU, consideration of credit transfer will be done on a case to case basis.
Faculty Information Booklet: March 2024 Intake 42 | F a c u l t y o f B u s i n e s s 4.0 HORIZONTAL CREDIT TRANSFER 4.1 Credit transfer from same level of qualification or horizontal credit transfer is allowed in the following circumstances: 4.1.1 If the previous qualification was completed in MMU, no limit is imposed on the credit transfer. The same course can be considered for credit transfer multiple times provided that the transfer is for programme within the same field (E.g. First degree completed is Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) (Human Resources Management). Student may use the same courses from this first degree to credit transfer for subsequent Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) programme/s. 4.1.2 If the previous qualification is from a different institution, the credit transfer is subject to specified academic residential requirement as follows: i. 1 trimester/semester for Master/PhD level, ii. 1 trimester/semester for Bachelor degree level, and iii. 1 trimester/semester for the Diploma level. 4.2 Student following a programme and wishes to change to another programme offered by MMU at the same level and within the same field. This is on condition that he/she meets the requirement of the new programme. 4.2.1 Grade transfer is allowed. In this case, there is no limit to the amount of credit allowed to be transferred. 4.2.2 If the previous programme is from another institution of higher learning, the credit transfer is dependent on the academic residential requirement: student must spend at least the following duration in MMU: i. 1 trimester/semester for Master/PhD level, ii. 1 trimester/semester for Bachelor’s degree level, and iii. 1 trimester/semester for the Diploma level. Note: Item 4.2 When there is an application for a change in programme, both faculties are to discuss and agree on courses to be allowed for credit transfer. 4.3 Student who has failed/been terminated from a programme and wishes to pursue another programme at the same level in MMU 4.3.1 No credit nor grade transfer is (including the MPW/MPU courses) allowed 4.4 Student who quit a programme and wishes to continue another programme at the same level in MMU 4.4.1 Grade transfer may be considered. In this case, there is no limit to the amount of credit allowed to be transferred. The course taken by the student must not be more than FIVE years prior to the registration date of the new programme at MMU. 4.4.2 If the previous programme was taken from another institution, the credit transfer is dependent on the academic residential requirement: student must spend at least 1 semester at MMU for Master/PhD level, 1 semester at MMU for Bachelor’s degree level and 1 semester at MMU for Diploma level. 4.5 Student of a programme in MMU who enroll for a few courses at another institution of higher learning at the same time (for example via mobility or exchange programme). 4.5.1 Credit transfer is allowed and it must not be more than 30% of the total credit of the programme registered for and it is also dependent upon the mutual understanding of both institutions. 4.6 Horizontal credit transfers for masters and doctoral programs (coursework and mixed mode) is allowed based on a case to case basis.

If the MOOC is not part of an accredited programme, it should have the following core elements: a. Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs); b. Course Description/Course Synopsis; c. Course Contents; d. Learning Activities; e. Course Duration; f. Course Assessment; g. Course Instructor; and h. Course Grade (where available) AND Mapping of course content equivalency of 80% and level of study is established. This may be conducted by comparing the single MOOC or combination of a few MOOCs against the course for which credit is applied for based on the following elements: a. Course learning outcomes; b. List of topics and/or subtopics; and c. Course duration. AND Credit equivalency of a MOOC shall be determined based on the total Student Learning Time (SLT) and this should be made known/declared by the applicant. As a guide, 40 notional learning hours is equivalent to 1credit. 5.1.2.2 CTM is only awarded for a specific course applied for. It is not automatically applicable to the pre-requisite (if any) of the said course. 5.1.2.3 Faculties may recommend to ADC the MOOC eligible for credit transfer based on the conditions stipulated by MQA. 5.1.2.4 There is no provision of credit transfer through the CTM process for industrial training/practicum/final year project /dissertation/thesis. 5.1.2.5 At the postgraduate level, CTM is only applicable for courses delivered through the coursework or mixed mode programmes. 5.1.2.6 Courses from programmes that require accreditation from professional bodies can be given CTM, subject to MMU obtaining approval from the relevant professional bodies; 5.1.2.7 Credits awarded for a course through the CTM process should be in full and match with the credit value of the course applied. No partial or block credits will be awarded; 5.1.2.8 Credits awarded for a course through the CTM process can be based on the mapping of the CLOs of a single MOOC or a combination of a few MOOC;

For instance, the same MOOC that has been granted CTM at diploma level cannot be reconsidered for another program at a higher level. 5.1.6 Prior to the award of credits, faculties are to determine the quality of MOOC, adequacy of course content and credit equivalency; the authentication of the applicant’s identity in MOOC; and verification of learning attainment within the guideline provided by MQA and other relevant authority
Faculty Information Booklet: March 2024 Intake 45 | F a c u l t y o f B u s i n e s s 5.2 CREDIT TRANSFER OF APEL FOR CREDIT AWARD (APEL C) 5.2.1 APEL for Credit Award [APEL(C)] is the award of credits for the prior experiential learning towards a course in an accredited programme of higher education provider (HEP). APEL(C) provides the mechanism to recognise the individual’s prior experiential learning that is relevant and specific to a course within a programme of study. The credit award is granted on the basis of the knowledge and skills acquired through informal and non-formal learning. 5.2.2 The maximum percentage of credit transfer through APEL(C) is 30% of the total graduating credits of a specific programme of study. Award of partial credits will not be allowed. 5.2.6 Credits awarded for a course are only applicable to the specific course applied for. Credits are not automatically applicable to prerequisites (if any) of the specific course. 5.2.7 Assessment for credit award should be carried out separately for each course. 5.2.8 APEL(C) is applicable for all courses except for final year project-based courses and dissertations. 5.2.9 For Executive Diploma programmes, the provision of 30 credits based on 3 years’ work experience as prescribed in the Standards: Executive Diploma is to be assessed using the APEL(C) instrument. 5.3 CREDIT TRANSFER OF MICROCREDENTIAL 5.3.1 Refer to MMU’s Microcredential policy for the credit transfer of Microcredential. 6.0 CREDIT TRANSFER OF MPU COURSES 6.1 Table 4 contains the list and level of MPU courses allowed for the credit to be

It takes effect beginning Trimester 2, 2012/13 session. 1. Exemption will not result in a student getting credit for the Course he or she is exempted from. 2. Exemption is not given by default. Students must make an application to be eligible for one. When exemption is granted, replacement Course is required to fulfil the credit requirement to graduate. 3. Local students who have passed Bahasa Malaysia with a credit at SPM level are not to retake Bahasa Kebangsaan A Course at the Diploma or Bachelor’s degree level. They are to take a foreign language Course which is not their native language and in which they had no formal education in. 11.3 Application for Credit Transfer/ Exemption 1. All students must submit the application for credit transfer by Thursday, 2 November 2023, 4.00 p.m. 2. All students must submit the application for ALL Courses that they wish to get credit transfer. 3. The list of Courses for credit transfer is applicable in Appendix 1. 4. The students must fill the credit transfer application in CLiC, email the form with the syllabi that they would like to request for credit transfer, copy of transcript with examination result and copy diploma to [email protected]. 5. Late application and submission of necessary documents will not be entertained. Note: Delay in the application for credit transfer results in delay of course registration in the future trimester. Students are therefore reminded to be fully responsible for such possible consequence.

University computing facilities are provided solely for the University’s educational, research and administrative activities unless otherwise authorized. 2. Users are allowed to access into the computer labs only with MMU ID. Access is restricted to MMU’s faculty, students, and staff. Others may access with written authorization from the Deans, Directors or authorized representatives. 3. Proper attire must be observed in the computer labs. Users are not allowed to wear shorts, miniskirts, sleeveless shirts or slippers while in the computer labs. The Computer Lab Technicians are authorized to prohibit users from accessing the lab if the users do not adhere to these rules. 4. Users should refrain from using any vulgar, distasteful or derogatory language in messages transmitted by electronic mail or interactive sessions. Disruptive talking is also not allowed. The Lab Assistants are authorized to ask users to leave the lab if the users do not comply with the rules. 5. Food, drinks and tobacco are strictly prohibited throughout the computer labs. 6. Users must follow normal standards of computer utilization policies in the use of the computing resources. Recreational use such as internet and email are not supported or accommodated but may be tolerated so long as it does not interfere with the management, operation or availability of the resource for its intended educational purposes. 7. No person shall deliberately or recklessly impair or undermine the usability or performance of computing facilities, the network, system programmes, software or other stored information or data. Typical deliberate and reckless actions include but not restricted to: ▪ Adding computer peripherals ▪ Changing the PC configuration of the CPU, monitor, operating system and etc. ▪ Removing or relocating computing facilities ▪ Printing personal items ▪ Infecting the computing facilities with computer virus ▪ Run password cracking and network snooping programme ▪ Attempt to crash a system or exploit the weaknesses in security at any critical systems (server & networking control systems) ▪ Deleting or modifying any file/files or directory/directories installed ▪ Adding new files into a directory which are not related to the directory ▪ Providing any form of information to any person outside Multimedia University with or without the intention to undermine the integrity of the facilities. ▪ Lab software that is copyrighted cannot be copied. Students cannot install, alter or delete any software programme or utility on any computer lab. 8. In the event of the problems with the software or equipment, the Computer Lab Technicians should be notified immediately. Users should not tamper with the computer hardware in any way. 9. Users are responsible for the use and security of their usernames and passwords. Computer accounts are for individual use and should be used only for the purposes for which they were intended for. 10. Users must respect the privacy of others by refraining from accessing their files and/or electronic mail. 11. Computers are available on first come first served basis. Computers may not be reserved in advance for individual use. The Computer Lab Technicians are authorized to make any computer unattended for more than fifteen minutes available to another user and remove all materials left in the lab. 12. The University reserves the right to inspect the content of all the storage media, at any time. 13. Files may be saved to the hard drives on the Lab computers at the user’s own risk. Saved files will be periodically deleted without notice. Files should always be backed up to floppy disks. 14. Users must comply with the provisions of current Malaysia law relating to pornography and pornographic materials in any form. Actions including but not restricted to accessing local or international sites to obtain obscene and/or pornographic files, pictures, movies, captions or others are considered “INTENTIONAL" and are subject to disciplinary actions by the University and other enforcement agencies.

Users are not allowed to play any form of any COMPUTER GAMES from any source, either hard disk, pen drive, INTERNET, etc. at any time. 16. The Faculty will not be responsible for any losses, damages or misplacement of users’ belongings in the computer labs. 17. Users must comply with any additional restrictions relating to the use of particular computing facilities. 18. User may not use computing resources for any illegal or unauthorized act. For any violation or abuse of any policies, rules and regulations, equipment, or labs, users will be reported to the Dean of FOB or the respective authorization and may result in suspension or revocation of lab privileges. The University decision regarding the rules and regulations shall be final. Note: Pursuant to the provisions of the Copyright Act 1987 (the Act) no individual student, organization, body or group of students of the University shall for any unauthorized purpose copy / reproduce or cause to copy / reproduce or permit the copying / reproducing or the sharing and / or downloading of any copyrighted material or an attempt to do so whether by use of the University’s facilities or outside networks or facilities whether in hard copy or soft copy format, to the extent that it shall prejudice the rights of a copyright owner of any material protected under the provisions of sections 3 and 7 of the Act whether for profit or otherwise save as specifically provided for therein. This shall include but not limited to any lecture notes, course packs, thesis, text books, exam questions, and any works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression whether provided by the University or otherwise.
