• When and how to use EFT
• Personal tapping of participants • Important FAQs
This structured approach made it simple for everyone to relate to the topics and understand them one by one. The facilitators first addressed the basics of EFT: what does it mean and involve. They supported their sessions with a beautiful presentation which had pictures, diagrams, videos, and text describing everything about EFT, thus making learning fun and easy to grasp. Sunny gave many examples of situations where one could apply EFT. Meetu took everyone through the stepwise tapping on the meridian points of the face, collarbones, underarms, etc. to release pent-up emotions and feelings. She also taught affirmations to go with the tapping and how to say them, which makes EFT even more powerful.
The duo also presented facts and medical case studies on EFT that proved the credibility of this healing modality. The best part was the demonstration of the quick EFT technique, a.k.a. quick anxiety stopper, which instantly releases any kind of stress stored in the face or body, making a person feel lighter.
The second day of the EFT workshop saw many group practice sessions of tapping for various illnesses and problems. EFT works well for all kinds of physical pain, emotional trauma, and mental stress. The facilitators also made everyone tap for each other (focussing on individual participants and their problems). This enhanced the overall energy of the group. When it came to doing personal tappings for each one, people opened up their hearts and shared the problems they were suffering from. Meetu and Sunny tapped along with the participants and made each participant repeat
solution-oriented affirmations in order to heal them.
The last one-and-a-half hour was solely dedicated to asking questions. Both the facilitators were asked about their journey into spirituality and EFT. People also asked other relevant questions pertaining to the use of EFT in their daily life. Both the facilitators very patiently and satisfactorily answered their questions. The group was full of enthusiasm and positivity after thoroughly learning EFT. They were really looking forward to attending the next two workshops.
Workshop 2
Tarot Card Reading with Maa Gyaan Suveera
It wouldn’t be unfair to say that this workshop was the most loved and enjoyable of all the workshops. Child-like curiosity, excitement, and joy were seen in each participant while learning to read tarot cards from Maa Gyaan.
Maa Gyaan is truly mystical, and elevated as a human being. Her all-encompassing love and amazing sense of humour made learning so much fun for everyone. And she is an extremely shrewd teacher to boot. Most of the first day of the basic tarot-reading workshop went into explaining the meaning of each of the 78 Osho Zen tarot cards. What made this session even more interesting was that she demonstrated the relevance and meaning of every card using real-life examples of all the clients who had come to her with their challenges. She also elaborated on the contextual relevance of each card in different cases and how to interpret the cards accurately.
Maa Gyaan explained the main categories of the Osho Zen tarot cards that are divided into six sets: major arcana, minor arcana, water

cards, fire cards, earth or abundance cards, and dark or grey cards. Each category has specific colours to it. Major and minor arcana are purple and are positive cards; abundance cards are in rainbow colours and indicate prosperity; water cards are blue and indicate a steady flow of things in life; fire cards are red and stand for passion or intensity; and dark cards predict the challenges a person will face.
She also went into greater detail of each category’s representation and context. She taught everyone to do a random pull-a-card reading for each other, in which the client can ask any question to the reader and pull one card to know the answer. However, the process of choosing a card isn’t so random. Maa Gyaan specified that the client, after asking their question to the reader, must only pick that card which really calls out to them. This instruction is given by the reader to the client before they do the reading together. Maa Gyaan also said that more than one card can be pulled to get more clarity on a question asked.
She also mentioned how important it is for the reader to fine-tune the questions asked and
dig deeper into the details of the situation that the client is trying to resolve, to understand it better. This also makes the card reveal clearer answers for them. She also said that cards have their own energy and intuition, and speak to the person getting their reading done.
On the next day of the advanced tarot-reading workshop, Maa Gyaan taught everybody important tarot card spreads like the Five Spread or Diamond Spread, Kundali Spread, and Chakra Spread. She explained the significance, design, arrangement, and energy playing in the cards of each spread. The Five Spread is dedicated to one challenge. The Kundali Spread gives an insight into almost all areas of one’s life, such as career, relationships, financial situation, health, social life, and spiritual health. The Chakra Spread gives information about the overall energy and health of each of the seven chakras in the body. Maa Gyaan also made everyone practise these spreads by doing each other’s readings. It was one of the most exciting parts of the event. All those who were staying at Madhuban wanted to attend this workshop when they came to know about it.

Maa Gyaan also taught everyone another elevated exercise: psychic reading. In this, first, the reader and the client hold each other’s hands, close their eyes, and establish a connection. Then the client asks their question to the reader. The reader, without physically pulling out a card, intuitively picks a card in their mind. And that card is the message or solution to the question asked. The first intuitive card image that pops up in the reader’s mind is the answer to the client’s question. She also described the process of cleansing the energy of cards, charging them, and activating them through several ways, for example, exposing them to the full moon.
She offered the following suggestions to the participants before doing tarot readings:
• Meditating more and more to increase psychic abilities
• Praying to the Almighty for the client before doing their reading
• Aligning with the energy of their deck of tarot cards to give more accurate readings
This workshop was a very fascinating one.
Each participant was also blessed by Maa Gyaan Suveera personally.
Workshop 3
Transgenerational Healing and Family Constellations with Hitesh and Shubhangi Vashishtha
This workshop started with Hitesh explaining the family systems in detail and how each member of the family has their own rightful place in that system. His first mandate to everyone was that they must acknowledge everybody with respect and love, excluding none from the family system. The reason is that when we do not acknowledge someone in the family tree, their unresolved traumas, issues, or patterns arise in the forthcoming generations. This is based on the rule ‘What we resist, persists.”
Shubhangi spoke about soul connections, family soul, and oneness within a family system. They also explained the concept of deep loyalty that we have with our ancestors if anyone of them went unheard or unacknowledged. It is

important to break one’s patterns that revolve around that loyalty, which do not serve the person well. For example, if a father was an alcoholic, the son can choose to not be the same. Or if someone didn’t make enough money, then their children can choose to not carry their same fate and earn a lot of wealth for themselves.
Hitesh and Shubhangi also touched on the following topics:
1. Order of hierarchy: This means whoever came first or was born first has a higher place in the family tree and should be given due respect and authority.
2. Order of love: While giving and receiving love, there are some rules, as explained in transgenerational healing. For instance, we must always receive our parents’ love, like receiving hugs, instead of us giving it to them. It’s important to know that they came before us; hence, they have a larger right to give hugs and love.
3. Right to belong: Even the black sheep of the family must feel accepted by it. Every person born in a family has a right to belong there. In fact, a soul that could not survive in the body must also be acknowledged. So, all the souls lost due to miscarriages, abortions, etc. are also counted in the family order and given their rightful place as per the ethics of transgenerational healing.
4. Right to one’s own fate: Every individual is free to create their own destiny and cut the cords of non-serving loyalty as mentioned above. People don’t have to live the lives of their ancestors. But it is still important to acknowledge their struggles, flaws, and lives
before moving on to cutting the cords.
Hitesh and Shubhangi also explained how we, as souls, choose our parents and vice versa. There is a deep karmic meshing that takes place in our interpersonal relationships. They also expressed the importance of healing traumas that were borne by our ancestors, such as the loss of parents at an early age, relationship issues of grandparents, a missing person in the family, suicides or murders, incest, wars, curses, and also by being victims and perpetrators, so that they are finally resolved and not carried further to the next generation.
On the second day of advanced healing through this workshop, a lot of deep exercises were done: inner child work, acknowledging all the siblings that came before and after, role-playing of parents and children, and playing life (one person played the role of life and intently listened to their partner’s story). During each exercise, many participants cried and released their pain while having unexpressed dialogues with their parents and children, sharing love, and healing stored traumas. This intense catharsis was unprecedented, and the workshop ended with lightness, happiness, and high spirits reflecting on the faces of all the participants.
The Healing in the Hills festival truly lived up to its name. It was transformational for some and therapeutic for many. Energised, the participants enthusiastically expressed the need and significance of organising such programmes and acknowledged their wonderful effect on people’s mental, physical, and emotional health. Everyone looked forward to attending more such events organised by Life Positive in the near future.

DHARMA
The purpose of living
Living selflessly to benefit others is the true purpose of life, says Darshan Goswami. This, in turn, leads to the ultimate goal of God-realisation—the realisation of one’s true nature as pure consciousness.
Dharma 55

A human being is a citizen of two worlds. The world within and the world without are two entirely separate realities. The external world dissipates energy, but the internal world showers blessings that fill the vacuum created by the [outer] world. Conquering the inner world is more difficult than succeeding in the kingdom of life in the external world.
H ave you ever asked yourself: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? Is life more than just a brief
span of time on earth? Such questions have baffled the greatest thinkers and philosophers down the ages.
Living, in itself, is not enough; it is not the goal. Most of us are so busy with our day- to-day existence that we do not have time to think about the purpose of living. It seems that our lives revolve around daily routines and worldly demands rather than the striving for fulfilment. Consequently, the eternal purpose of life eludes us. All our pondering, technology, and sophistication still haven’t solved the fundamental riddle posed by the two indelible facts of human existence—life and death.
In this article, I will attempt to share with you my thoughts on the purpose of living. We are all created to be happy and have purposeful lives. As human beings, we are blessed with a brain and conscience, so we can decide what we want to make out of our life. Often, a purpose is imposed on an individual by their family, culture, government, or even by individuals who seek to control others for their own selfish
motives. As we strive to learn the purpose of our life here on earth, we must remember that true fulfilment is not found in our outward achievements, but in what we accomplish within ourselves.
Why would you want to know your purpose?
What would you like to ask the Supreme Being if you could get a direct and immediate answer? A poll in USA Today reports that the #1 question people would like to ask God is “What’s the purpose of living?” According to Swami Rama, “A human being is a citizen of two worlds. The world within and the world without are two entirely separate realities. The external world dissipates energy, but the internal world showers blessings that fill the vacuum created by the [outer] world. Conquering the inner world is more difficult than succeeding in the kingdom of life in the external world.”
Knowing your true purpose leads to real joy, satisfaction, and happiness as you strive to fulfil your dream life. Studies have shown that purpose-driven people experience more contentment and have more success and

financial rewards than most other people. By taking the time to understand your purpose in life, you’ll have more satisfaction and energy, and be more focussed on achieving that purpose. Until you find your purpose and begin fulfilling it, you will never be truly happy.
Where do you begin to find your purpose?
Your incentive for knowing or finding your purpose lies in your future. Your greatest satisfaction would be to look back on your life and know that you gave your all unselfishly to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. From this point of view, nothing could be more important than finding and fulfilling your life’s purpose.
But how and where can the purpose for your life be discovered? Your job, daily responsibilities,
or even long-term goals are not the true purpose—the real reason why you’re here on earth. I believe that the most fundamental human desire is happiness. I used to think that happiness could be achieved through material possessions. I presumed that if I made enough money, I would be happy and fulfilled. But it didn’t work out that way. The more I followed the path of material possessions, the less satisfied I became. Consequently, I no longer believe that materialism is the way to true fulfilment. I have learned that if you understand your purpose and practise it in your daily living, God will give you what you want and so make future steps easier and clearer.
On the other hand, many people believe that you have to give up all your worldly possessions and devote all your time to helping others,
There is no greater joy than selflessly serving others
Dharma 57

without regard for your own wants and needs. While such self-sacrifice may be admirable, the most important thing to understand is that your supreme purpose cannot be found by searching outside yourself; you need to look within. Various meditation methods can help you with this.
How to find your purpose?
To discover your true purpose, you must first empty the mind of all the false intentions acquired in the course of daily living. You must understand that, while your present life and body will come to an end, whatever you do during your life ultimately influences your future. According to Eastern teachings, death is not the end of life. At death, you acquire a new body based on your previous activities (karma) and desires, and reincarnate as any of the 8.4 million species of life on any planet within the universe. This cycle of birth, death, and transmigration continues indefinitely.
For humans, this is a very special opportunity because we are endowed with the intelligence to enquire into the true purpose of life. Unless this milestone is reached, life is in vain.
We are eternal living beings; we are not this body but eternal spirit. While the body will die, our real Self, the spirit, will never succumb to death. The body is merely a temporary vessel, and when it becomes old or useless, the soul takes on a new body, just like a person changes clothes. Some view the prospect of death and changing bodies as unnatural, unpleasant, and depressing. However, this notion fails to consider that the unpleasantness of birth, death, diseases, old age, or other miseries of this world are due to having forgotten our real spiritual nature and relationship with God.
Accepting death will help with the realisation that life is temporary, a journey of learning and growth that culminates in understanding

Give thanks to God everyday on waking up

that God, or the eternal Reality, is within you. Without this awareness, your purpose remains shrouded by body consciousness and ignorance, believing that life has no ultimate goal or meaning. But as soon as you turn your attention back to God, this illusion is removed and you are free from fear. Achieving this level of enlightenment, however, is an arduous journey that must begin with an examination of the inward self. Even Buddha spent years in solitude before realising his purpose, and Jesus went off into the desert to discover the truth.
God reveals the purpose
Finding the true purpose of life begins by understanding your real nature, transmuting your earthly desires to spiritual ones, and turning your attention back to God. When you re-establish contact with God, even ordinary activities and relationships take on a new meaning and significance, no longer being temporary or illusionary. Ultimately, it will enable you to go back to your eternal home. There, you can forever engage in blissful loving service to the Supreme Lord, without being subjected to the stringent laws of birth, death, old age, disease, and suffering.
Being human is a precious gift. Finding the true purpose makes life more enjoyable, and more importantly, the mind and spirit are infused with a mission and a direction.
Darshan Goswami
Creating a purposeful life begins with changing your attitude and thoughts. Give thanks to God for what you have and, most of all, enjoy it. When you live life with purpose, giving to others without expecting anything in return, prosperity will result. It took me a while to grasp this concept. But now, doing things for others unselfishly gives me pure joy and true inner happiness.
Let me tell you the secret of true happiness. When you wake up each day, recite a little prayer of gratitude to the Lord for the immense pleasures of life and the opportunity to be of unselfish service to others. By doing so, your subconscious mind picks up the positive feeling and energy, and you will realise the purpose of your life. When you recognise your purpose, you see things more positively. This insight releases tremendous amounts of positive vibrations, which, in turn, attract more positive energy.
Live consciously and courageously, and resonate with love and compassion to awaken the great spirit within others and leave this world in peace. All of us have been blessed with precious gifts by God. What really matters is what we do with these gifts during our lifetime. To discover this, ask yourself a simple question: What am I doing to help others?

SHARING
As you sow . . .
Looking at himself in the mirror, Pradeep Krishnan comes to a realisation: to set the world right, one has to start with oneself
H ave any of us intensely looked at the beauty of our own body? Till recently, I hadn’t. The other day, when I was
combing my hair after my bath, I curiously looked at the image in the mirror. I intensely gazed at myself for a few minutes. I observed myself from tip to toe. A unique creation of God that initially came to Earth in my mother’s womb as a single cell 59 years ago, was born as a baby boy and named Pradeep Krishnan. This boy became a man of five feet five inches and was now gazing at himself in the long mirror.
I amazingly observed my own body. I have perfect eyes to see the rising orange sun, faultless ears to hear melodious bhajans, a flawless nose to smell
red roses, an immaculate tongue to taste delicious dishes, and glowing skin to feel the loving touch of dear ones. Thank God, I have agile hands, active legs, broad shoulders, and an alert brain. Suddenly, I fell in love with myself.
Mirror image
When I smiled, offered namaste, and pointed fingers, ‘he’ too responded alike. When I twisted and turned my face as if mocking him, he too reciprocated my gestures. Whatever I did, the man in the mirror just imitated me. I began to realise that whatever I give to the world will come back to me as it is. He in the mirror represents the world outside that responds to my actions. So, to improve my conditions outside, not only must
60 LifePositive | JUNE 2022

I consciously behave with the world outside, but also intentionally take steps to better myself. I remembered the golden words of Mahatriaji: “If you make the man right, the whole world will become right.”
I pondered, How can I make myself right? To do so, should I not have at least a basic understanding of the ‘me’ that I want to improve on and the exact processes by which I can elevate myself? Then I remembered that man is a combination of body, mind, and spirit. That is why, since time immemorial, spiritual masters have been emphasising the need to have a harmonious synchronisation of these three faculties to lead a happy, peaceful, and purposeful life on earth. To smoothly sail through life, one must have a healthy body, flawless mind, and a spiritual inclination.
Healthy body, healthy mind
Several studies have proved that a healthy body makes a serene mind and vice versa. When the body is not well, do we not often feel down? Conversely, when our mind is peaceful and calm amidst Mother Nature, our body too feels comfortable. So, making one’s body perfect with regular exercises, pranayama, hatha yoga, etc., helps also to keep one’s mind calm and serene to an extent. However, that alone is not enough. In addition, it is important to feed the mind with good thoughts: reading the scriptures, listening to talks of masters, singing bhajans, etc. will definitely help to elevate one’s mind. But that too is not sufficient to make a faultless man.
One with the Spirit
Then comes the spiritual aspect of man, revealing the unique connection with his Creator, or God. Whatever one achieves in life, either bodily or with the mind, will be incomplete without not having the right spiritual bent of mind—the ultimate realisation that the whole world is Her creation and that everything in the Universe is interconnected. Is it not a proven fact that even a tiny speck of dust which originated in a faraway galaxy millions of light years away will make its impact on the surface of Mother Earth? Not properly grasping this integral connection is the cause of all conflicts happening around us: wars, destructive weapons, environmental disasters at the macro level, and jealousy, hatred, cunningness, etc. at the micro level.
The only way shown by masters all through the ages to these pressing problems has been to follow a spiritual path at the individual and collective level. Mahatria says, “Spirituality is the science of the ‘life-giving substance.’ ” At the individual level, one’s connection with their God happens through meditation. The process helps one to realise, step by step, one’s inherent divine nature. Though the path is not that easy, one has to commence the journey at the earliest; else, existence will definitely make it happen for all.
Seeing the new me, I quipped, “It is my privilege to make me right so as to make the whole world right.” I smiled at him in gratitude, and from the mirror, he smiled back.

MUDRAS
The big B
Abhay Kumar Shah recommends managing Vitamin B12 deficiency with the help of certain mudras
Pran Mudra Prithvi Mudra Apana Mudra
T he word ‘vitamin’ comprises two words: ‘vital’ and ‘minerals.’ Vitamins play an important role in building and maintaining our body. Today, we will talk about
one of the most important vitamins—B12.
Importance of B12
Vitamin B12 regulates the health of our nerves. Hence, its deficiency can cause numbness, a tingling sensation, debility of nerves, and loss of hearing and vision too. B12 also affects our psychological health. A lack of it can lead to mood swings, irritability, tension, and depression. Since B12 is responsible for the generation of blood cells, low levels can cause anaemia, especially megaloblastic anaemia. This condition creates weakness, fatigue, and lack of stamina. Pale or yellow skin occurs due to anaemia as well as B12 deficiency-induced increased bilirubin level. This vitamin is essential for brain health, and low levels may cause memory loss and eventually lead to Alzheimer’s disease. Vitamin B12 aids the digestive process, so insufficient levels can cause constipation and gastric trouble. Low levels can increase body heat, which results in mouth ulcers
Samana Mudra Surya Mudra
and chapped lips. B12 deficiency also leads to an increase in some chemicals in our body. This affects our cardiovascular health, thus increasing the risk of a heart attack or stroke. B12 plays a role in the regulation of hormone levels too.
Now let’s see what we can do to increase the level of B12 in our body with the help of Mudra Shastra, in addition to the use of supplements.
• Prithvi Mudra
Prithvi Mudra helps to increase the levels of all types of vitamins. It is the best tonic, so just unbottle it!
Prithvi Mudra also regulates the acid levels in our body. B12 in the food is attached to a protein which gets separated with the help of hydrochloric acid in our body during the digestion process, and then it combines with a substance called gastric intrinsic factor to get absorbed into the intestinal lining. High production of acid may make one consume antacids, which can result in low absorption of B12, as low acid levels are unable to separate the protein. Prithvi Mudra works at

multiple levels: it increases the B12 levels and facilitates the absorption of the vitamin received from food intake.
People consuming antacids and the drug metformin (which is prescribed in the management of diabetes) are more prone to a lack of B12. However, stopping these drugs may be a problem for them. Mudra Therapy can help these people a lot.

Practise for 30 minutes, twice a day, 50 minutes after meals.
• Samana Mudra
Samana Mudra helps a lot in the assimilation process.
Touch the tips of all the fingers to the tip of the thumb. Rest the back of the palms on the thighs or knees.
Practise for 16 minutes, twice a day, 30 minutes after meals.
• Surya Mudra
Surya Mudra increases the acid level instantly.
Touch the tip of the ring finger to the bottom of the thumb and place the thumb on the back of the ring finger. Keep the remaining three fingers comfortably straight. Rest the back of the palms on the thighs or knees.
The increased acid level acts upon the food that is consumed, so it is best to practise this mudra for 16 minutes, starting 30 minutes and ending 14 minutes before meals.
Hope this article will help restore B12 levels in your body.

TEACHING STORY
INFERIOR TO NONE
A samurai, known for his nobility and honesty, visited a monk to get some advice. When the monk had finished his prayers, the samurai asked, “Why do I feel so inferior? I have faced death many times and defended those who are weak. Nevertheless, upon seeing you meditating, I feel that my life has absolutely no importance whatsoever.”
“Wait for some time. Once I have attended to all those who come to see me today, I shall answer you,” replied the monk.
The samurai spent the whole day sitting in the temple gardens, watching people coming in search of advice. He saw how the monk received them all with the same patience and the same illuminated smile on his face. At nightfall, when everyone had gone, the samurai repeated his request: “Now, can you teach me?”
The master invited him in and led him to his room. The full moon shone in the sky, and the atmosphere was one of profound tranquillity. “Do you see the moon, how beautiful it is? It will cross the entire firmament, and tomorrow, the sun will shine once again.”
“But the sunlight is much brighter and can show the details of the landscape around us: trees, mountains, clouds,” retorted the samurai.
“I have contemplated the two for years and have never heard the moon say “Why do I not shine like the sun? Is it because I am inferior?”
“Of course not,” answered the samurai. “The moon and the sun are different things; each has its own beauty. You cannot compare the two.”
“So you know the answer. We are two different people, each fighting in his own way for what he believes in and making it possible to make the world a better place. The rest are mere appearances.”

INSPIRATION
THE ABSOLUTE
No mind, no form, I only exist; Now ceased all will and thought; The final end of Nature’s dance, I am it whom I have sought.
A realm of Bliss bare, ultimate; Beyond both knower and known; A rest immense I enjoy at last;
I face the One alone.
I have crossed the secret ways of life, I have become the Goal.
The Truth immutable is revealed; I am the way, the God-Soul.

ONE-MINUTE WISDOM
BE DONE WITH IT
Once, a wise man held a seminar to teach people how to get rid of sorrows in their life. Many people gathered to hear the wise man’s words. The man entered the room and told a hilarious joke to the crowd. The crowd roared in laughter. After a couple of minutes, he told them the same joke, and only a few of them smiled. When he told the same joke for the third time, no one even smiled anymore.
The wise man smiled and said, “You can’t laugh at the same joke over and over. So why do you cry over the same problem over and over?”
