The Air Show on Stage
Some people say I have a good voice, but I find that
totally hilarious. Me, imagining myself singing on stage
is a sight fully comical. But without my liking this
priceless imagination was brought down to real life. As I
climbed up the stage, butterflies flew through my
stomach just like air planes do in air shows. The bright
stage lights hit my face and made it go pale with fear. As
I hit my first note with my trembling voice I got used to
the setting. Soon enough my performance was over and
I was relieved that it had.

The Vanishing Cats
As I was leading a peaceful vacation in India ready to go to
sleep I heard some unexpected noises. It sounded like an
argument was taking place. As I got curious I speed up my
pace to land myself in the balcony to find two cats having
a face to face fight, but the thing that was odd was that I
saw a third cat sneaking up from behind. In no later than a
second the third cat had suddenly bitten one of the cats on
the tail! They both fell onto the road and vanished within
seconds. I walked away giggling and shared my story.

According to research laughter actually does turn out to be the best medicine. Laughter
is a powerful antidote to relieve stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more
dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor
lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded,
focused, and alert. It also helps you to release anger and be more forgiving. With so
much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a
tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and
supporting both physical and emotional health.
When you laugh a good, hearty laugh physical tension and stress absolutely dissolves,
leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after. Along with that, laughter
decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting
antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. That could probably come in
handy at some point of time. Ever wonder why after laughing you feel so free? Laughter
triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins
promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
Sometimes doctors can't even achieve what laughter can do. Laughter also improves
the function of blood vessels and increases blood Page 8

flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other
cardiovascular problems. This might seem pretty weird but laughter
burns calories. OK, so it’s no replacement for going to the gym, but one
study found that laughing for 10 to 15 minutes a day can burn about 40
calories—which could be enough to lose three or four pounds over the
course of a year. Laughter may even help you to live longer. A study in
Norway found that people with a strong sense of humor outlived those
who don't laugh as much. The difference was particularly notable for
those battling cancer. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free,
and easy to use.

Smart Houses
Smart houses are on the way of being built. We already have
smart appliances such as refrigerators that will tell you when
you’re low on a certain food item or an oven you can control
with your smartphone. Sometime in the future we are going to
put all of these things together for the entire house so that
you’ll be able to control with your smartphone, tablet, or
computer. We’re talking changing the thermostat, changing
the channel on TV, and getting notifications that your laundry
is ready all without leaving your couch. You can preheat the
oven for dinner as you leave work so it’s ready to cook when
you get home. It won’t be too much longer before your house
talks to you and you can talk to it. The tech is already there,
it’s just a matter of putting it all together in a stable enough
manner for consumers. Page 10
What do Babies Think?
A hundred years ago, psychologists described babies' brains as "a buzzing
confusion," but today's experts are more charitable. The current consensus is that
infants are thinking all the time, busy trying to make sense of the world around
them from the moment they emerge from the womb. "Babies are little
experimenters," says Sue Hespos, PhD, a cognitive psychologist at Northwestern
University, in Evanston, Illinois. "They gather information about their environment
and are phenomenal at picking up patterns." Researchers like Dr. Hespos study
babies' thought processes by measuring how long they look at events unfolding
before them. They have found that you can hold a baby's attention for a
significantly longer period if you do something unexpected. For example, if you
dangle a box by a string so that it magically "floats," as opposed to placing it on a
shelf as you've done before, a baby is likely to be more engaged. "Babies aren't
concerned with earth-shattering philosophical questions, but they are thinking a lot
about how objects behave and interact," says Dr. Hespos.

This is a picture that was taken by me on top of the
Tower bridge. Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and
suspension bridge in London built in 1886–1894. The bridge
crosses the River Thames and has become an iconic symbol
of London. As my family and I got the chance to visit
London and many of its sights, we visited this spectacular
sight. As we walked across I could picture all the history
that had took place there. When our London trip was over I
was very disappointed because even though we visited the
main places there is still a lot we missed.
