Arlesey Town. 1 MATCH Aylesbury VD 1 REPORT CHRIS STERRY Arlesey's long injury list was slightly alleviated by the return of Bruno Brito for this game v Aylesbury but they still had to call on the up and coming youth teams as Lenny Crowter (ex player Reeces brother) and Lenny Georgiou received their 1st call ups On this really windy but warm spring day Arlesey started well as Alex Taylor found Brito and he tried to use the wind with a deep speculative chip that almost caught out Charlie Jones in the Aylesbury goal andvit went just over the bar. The wind at Arlesey's back also played a part as a good ball put Tommy Blennerhassett through butvthe ball picked up speed and beat him to the line. Another good move saw Blennerhassett find Josh Helmore who played a good ball to Larry Abolarin who played a good ball to Montel Brown who hit his shot just past the post. Aylesbury countered as Fabian Garcia crossed in, Steve Sylvester cleared it as far as Nathan Brownsword who hit a long shot that went past the post. Aylesbury gained a corner that was put out for another before it was half cleared by Brito and the ball was fired back in but it was no problems for Ollie Skinner. From an Aylesbury throw Taylor got a head to it but it went as far as Sean Duodu who hit a low shot that brought a save out of Skinner. Brito was fouled on the half way line and Tommy Cooney took the FK but the wind again caught it but it only just missed Brito at the far post. A break by Duodu saw him fouled by Sylvester on the edge of the Arlesey box which saw the 1st card of the afternoon for the Arlesey player. The FK was hit straight at the Arlesey wall and easily cleared. Arlesey countered as Noah Mosanya playing out of position crossed to Abolarin who turned on the 6yd line and fitred a shot that pulled a great save out of Jones, the ball was still heading towards the line and desperately hacked away as everyone tried to force it over. Aylesbury made their counter as Jake Baldwin found Duodu who was forced wide by the outcoming Skinner, he managed to find Baldwin whoes initial shot was blocked and the ball came out to Abu Khan who hit a low accurate shot through and empty corridor that went off the post and over the line behind Skinner for 0-1 on 33 mins. Arlesey tried to regroup as Abolarin fed in Brown whoes shot was blocked before it came to Matt Gilbert but his shot was overhit and high and wide. Brown played a good ball to Helmore whoes shot was deflected for a corner but this was cleared, and another Cooney FK found Bito but his header was wide. Gilbert played in a great cross towards Mosanya at the far post but again the wind put it just past him. Into added time Duodu again burst through and again he was stopped by a foul on the edge of the box by a foul by Cooney and this again saw the Arlesey player go into the book. The FK was driven past the post leaving it 0-1 at HT. Aylesbury started the 2nd period strongly as they won a corner that was only half cleared and a FK was awarded on the edge of the Arlesey box, this was deflected away for a corner that went behind for a GK. A good ball by Helmore looked to have fed in Blennerhassett but he was pulled up by a close O/S flag. A double Arlesey corner was eventually cleared. Another corner came to Brito whoes shot was initially blocked before he shot again past the post. Arlesey were putting some good moves together as Taylor found Brito who fed in Brown who hit a good shot that Jones did well to push around the post for a corner which was cleared. Arlesey replaced Abolarin with Cameron Oneil which led to a small reshuffle up front. Brown was fouled on the left hand side of the box and Cooney took the FK and beat everyone before Terry Griffiths cleared the ball off the line. Arlesey were pressing, Oneil put in a good cross that just missed Mosanya. A by now rare break from Aylesbury saw their two subs combine well and Curtis Brown shot past the post but he was O/S. A good ball from Oneil fed in Blennerhassett but again the wind interviewed and his cross went behind the goal. Arlesey replaced Brito who had a good return to the side with Demi Oladiran. From a throw Oneil got in a header that was taken by the keeper and a good move saw Taylor feed Brown into the box and he won a corner which found Sylvester who headed just past the post. Arlesey were applying the pressure, Blennerhassett again fed Brown Into the box, he beat his defender and crossed to Helmore but it just beat him in a great position. A long ball forward from Aylesbury almost cost a goal as Skinner came out to clear and his clearance hit Gilbert and the ball went up and dropped to Aaron Pike but Skinner more than redeemed himself with a great recovery save and clearance. As the game moved to the final minute of normal time Gilbert oerlapped into the box as Helmore was also felled and he was brought down by Griffiths and the ref pointed to the spot. Helmore required treatment and had to be be helped from the pitch, Brown grabbed the ball with purpose and eventually put the ball on the spot and drove it past Jones for the equaliser on 90 mins. Helmore was replaced by Lenny Crowter making his senior debut which led to a reshuffle. Taylor won the ball in the centre and put Oneil through coming from his own half, Jones came out hesitated then came again, oniel also hesitated before going again and Jones won the race by about 3 inches and the ball was hacked clear and Oniels chance of glory had gone. Aylesbury had a FK on the half way line but this was an easy take for Skinner and there was still time for an Aylesbury corner that was too deep and went out leaving it all square at 1-1. Arlesey looked much more balanced with Brito working well with Taylor in the middle and also introduced another young talent into the squad. Next up is an unusual THURSDAY game as we face promotion chasing MK Irish on the 11th and this will be a difficult game but Arlesey will be looking to take a positive attitude into this following this deserved draw.

Baldock Town 3 MATCH Arlesey Town. 1 REPORT CHRIS STERRY For this localaist of derbies spring finally seemed have arrived and it was a plesent warm early spring day. Arlesey were still without several players because of injuries and suspension so were again not at their strongest. Arlesey started well as Tommy Cooney played a good ball to Noah Mosanya who in turn played a good cross field ball out to Tom Millett but his cross was a little to strong and the ball drifted out. Eddie Carrington who was returning from suspension attacked through the centre but lost his footing on the edge of the D and it was cleared. A long clearance by Baldock found Owen Robertson out on the wing and he controlled it well before trying to attack Arlesey's box, Millett tackled him well getting the ball out for a corner but rolled over in obvious pain and after treatment he had to come off with what seemed yet another serious injury and he was replaced by Alex Taylor after just 7 minutes. From the corner delivered deep Ollie Skinner couldn't reach it and it came to George Devine who had a free header as he was unmarked but he put his header past the post. Cooney played another good ball out to Ezinna Odimebe who was making his home senior debut, he drilled in a good cross that went into the side netting. A good move through the centre found Odimebe who fired a shot just past the post as the game ebbed back and forth, a Baldock FK found Devine who shot and it was well blocked by Yasin Boodhoo and cleared. From a throw Cooney putbin a good cross that found Odimebe in the centre and he got in a header but it lacked power and went straight to David Archer in goal. A cross in from Cooney was well claimed by the keeper before at the other end another deep cross found Robertson who cut in before his shot was blocked and cleared by Boodhoo. From a FK Cooney delivered a good ball in which was well collected by Archer under pressure under his crossbar. From a Baldock corner Skinner was beaten to the ball by Robertson who hit a shot goalward, Matt Gilbert cleared it off the line but the ball was shot back in by George Kingham to score for 1-0 on 31 minutes. Suddenly Arlesey were in disarray. Another attack by Robertson saw him fouled by Noah Mosanya who was booked. The FK was put in and initially headed out by Alex Taylor and then delivered back in and missed by everyone in Blue and it was stroked over the line from close in by Marley Rochester-Stein with an open goal for 2-0 on 33 minutes. A foul on Gilbert produced a FK that found Carringtonwho hit a shot that was deflected past the post for a corner that was cleared. A break from Baldock saw Rochester-Stein find Devine who showed good control before shooting and forcing a good save from Skinner. Another long ball up found Devine who dispossessed Boodhoo and beat Skinner who was well off his line to shoot low into the net for 3-0 on 44 minutes. Just a minute a minute later Matt Gilbert received a ball and cut in before hitting a superb shot that beat Archer and flew into the top of the Baldock net for 3-1 on 45 minutes and his 2nd goal in consecutive games leaving it at 3-1 at HT. Arlesey made a treble change at the break as Josh Helmore replaced Dan Wappett, Larry Abolarin replaced Eddie Carrington and Demi Oladiran replaced Alex Taylor. As they reorganised Arlesey pressed forward and looked more balanced but the 1st chance of the half came to Robertson who turned and shot just over the bar. From a FK Cooney again delivered and found Boodhoo ejoes header was put out for a corner. This was delivered and put out for another corner several times before being cleared. A good ball saw Helmore fed in Abolarin but this was again put out for a corner. This was half cleared and delivered back in and met by Helmore but his header hit the post and went out but the O/S flag was up. Baldocks long ball was again causing problems and Gilbert headed out for a corner. This came to Harry Dollimore who found Devine who beat Skinner with his shot but he didn't beat Gilbert who cleared off the line. Noah Mosanya went down and he too had to replaced joining the long que for the physio table and he was replaced by Cam Oneil. A good move fed Oneil in but he could only find the side netting. From a FK Boodhoo had a header cleared before Odimebe had a shot that was deflected and taken by the keeper. Another long ball again found Robertson and Gilbert had to put the ball out for a corner that was delivered straight out. Helmore was fouled from behind that earned Malaki Black a yellow card but left Helmore limping again but he carried on as all subs had been used. Arlesey pushed forward towards the end but they were blocked every time and were unable to penetrate On 91 mins Gilbert was booked for a foul on Devine. The FK was put out for a corner which was cleared leaving it as a 3-1 defeat for Arlesey. This was a game littered with individual mistakes that cost goals almost every time and it cost two more injuries to add to the ever lengthening list. The one highlight of the game was a supurb goal fro Matt Gilbert, but this was a poor display from Arlesey. They must now reorganise again and prepare for Aylesbury who come to Arlesey next Saturday.
