MATCHDAY PROGRAMME
ARLESEY Ardley Utd
TOWN
SATURDAY 26th November
Good afternoon and welcome to New Lamb Meadow for today’s game against Ardley United.
November has been a shocking month for us in the league with some very inconsistent performances. Ultimately
we have to find a way of taking our dominant performances, doing it for entire games and converting our chances.
In 95 minutes at Barton Rovers we played the ball into dangerous areas and the box over 30 times but in the first
half on Tuesday we only did it 3 times. The goals we fell to were disappointing, an own goal and a poorly
defended set piece. Our second half was much better with plenty of good quality balls forward and 3 very good
chances that should have brought us back into the game. We must take that into today’s game.
We have a fantastic togetherness in the group but our performances must get more consistent and we must start
turning our dominance in games into wins. Our composure in the final third is what we need to ensure is better
today because it has been the difference in most games.
Goals have been a problem so far this season but more so during November. We all know what’s required so we
have to show that togetherness and grit in order to get some more points on the board.
Thank you for your continued support and let’s get behind the boys today.

Major change was to come in the early 2000’s as, along with
the Ardley Playing Field Committee, Ardley United oversaw
the construction of dedicated facilities along with a
separate village hall which enabled the club to be
independent of community activities. The new clubhouse,
which had been awarded the Non-League Paper’s

club to be promoted to the Hellenic Premier Division and so
began the club’s most successful years to date.
Kevin Brock took the reins for seven seasons which saw
Ardley win several cups including the Oxfordshire Senior
Cup in 2013/14, a season during which they narrowly lost
out on the Premier Division title by just two points.
Following Brock’s departure, Paul Davis took over as
manager for nearly two seasons until the resignation of
long-time chairman Norman Stacey in June 2017 for
personal reasons.
