ANATOMY ON CADAVERS DATES INTO 2015:-
“Thank you so much for organising these courses, it was an incredible experience and a
privilege to attend.”
Tuesday & Wednesday 2nd/3rd December DISSECTION with Julian Baker, a two day
2014 introduction to fascia entitled “The Fascial
Human”. Exploring tissues that surround the
£370 per person or anatomy we are familiar with. Fascia in
many forms, creates the connections all over
£550 for two our body, allowing communication around
and through the whole structure and also
from therapeutic output. The two days
explore why physical therapies and
movements work and what happens when we
touch and palpate. A vital course for
bodywork and movement therapists to
improve their practice and take an
understanding of what you do to a new level
Friday 6th February 2015 An Anatomical Overview of the Skeletal

Tendons by Professor Ceri Davies. Using

GOOD WORKSHOP FOR PEOPLE WHO
ARE NEW TO ANATOMY OR WANT AN
INTRODUCTION TO CADAVERS.
Friday 6th February 2015 The Upper Limb and Girdle: Exploring the
(2pm – 5pm) relationship between the shoulder region,
axial skeleton and brachial plexus. What can

the rotator cuff affect mobility and common

Friday 13th February 2015 Exploring the Soft Tissues in relation to
(10am – 3pm with a half hour break) Common Injuries: The aim of this morning is
for you to explore the soft tissues and experience
WITH MEL CASH their quality and texture as well as their location
and relationship with other structures. We will

and you should be able to explore the area that

the anatomy and relate it to common injuries.

joint really move; the difference between the
male and female pelvis and the pelvic floor;
attachments of the pelvic floor to the coccyx
and non-specific low back pain and muscular

BOWEN “in the flesh” – an anatomical
exploration of the structures involved when
performing Bowen moves. A workshop for
all Bowen students and practitioners alike.

fascia creates connection with all other

from a regional anatomy model to an

structure.

The anatomy on cadaver dates are on prosected specimens and are taught by a
professor of anatomy and/or a guest lecturer advertised on the date. You will have a
chance to view muscles, bones, blood vessels, nerves etc. and to palpate. All equipment
such as gloves and other overalls are provided. These are not dissections as the bodies
are already dissected so that you are able to focus on the area of specific interest.
Dissections are with Julian Baker who is one of Europe’s leading experts on connective
tissue function and dissection. As a participant, you will play an active role in
dissecting so that you gain an understanding of fascia, its connection from skin to bone
as well as exploring the functional aspects of each layer and their relationship to other
structures. This is a rare opportunity to dissect and explore the human form in order
for you to develop a truly holistic and connected view of the body as a whole. The aim
of the workshop is to gain a deeper understanding of why your therapy works and will
fundamentally change the way you see the body.
