with stories from our families

Becky Rall of Rolla and her kiddos were provided with a
Begin Again Backpack, a CMFCAA program that assists
children who are not allowed to bring their personal
belongings with them to their new homes, by giving
them backpacks full of essential items.
“I would like to thank you for being so kind and helping
get stuff for the kiddos!” Becky told us. “It has helped
me a lot, not only with the clothes and diapers, but also
with all the extra information and the kindness. That
always brightens anyone’s day! Thanks so much for
always looking out for all the families in need of help.”

story. “He came off as a good young man, who just
needed a little help and someone to believe in him
and point him in the right direction,” Tommy said
of their initial conversation. After the visit, Tommy
drove Justin up to Rolla, to the Mission.

Justin Martin arrived at the Mission – a homeless
shelter - with no job or car. He was suspended from
school with no time or inclination to plan for his
future; no government ID, birth certificate, or SNAP
card - and most devastatingly, no support team.

One month later, CCYP, a new CMFCAA program
that consists of two talented go-getters, Specialist
Danielle Holt and Supervisor Tommy Kulberg,
assisted in moving Justin into his first apartment –
a remarkable achievement for any young person.
Justin says he’ll be taking his HiSet testing to finish
his schooling. “We gave him a bike to get around
town, and back and forth to his new job at Steak ‘n
Shake,” Danielle said. “We were able to give him a
phone with minutes, and a king size mattress to be
donated for his new place. He is doing very well,
and he is very excited how things are going for him
already.”

hard on active cases, new cases, and their follow-
ups on closed cases. “In this time of need,”
Kelscey says, “we’re doing all we can to ensure
that all the families we serve are safe, and we are
doing everything they can to keep it that way.”

Our great team of Kinship Navigators are continuing to do business day-to-day
