tour d’ElEganCE I

The Thirteenth Thank you to those who took part in the BH Gold Tour
Annual BH Gold d’Elegance presented by Symbolic International. Our route
Tour d’Elegance throughout San Diego County displayed some of San Diego’s
most picturesque scenery. The morning began with a
Presented by Symbolic delicious breakfast hosted by Solace Realty. From there,
International guests enjoyed a private tour of Symbolic International, a
world renowned dealership with an impressive inventory of
Classic & Competition Automobiles ranging from Ferrari, to
Lamborghini, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz.

The tour then continued to Chuck Spielman’s Only
Yesterday Museum, which is home to a magnificent stable
of classic automobiles and a priceless collection of military
memorabilia. Spielman, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and
retired commercial real estate executive, opened his
collection for private viewing in 1998 in New York, later
moving his collection to San Diego in 2001 after the terrorist
attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Though not a time capsule, the
timeless allure of Spielman’s carefully curated collection took
us back to yesteryear while providing unique insight on the
history and significance of each component of the museum.

After a magnificent coastal drive, a private BBQ lunch
sponsored by John Hancock Investments, was held on San

Diego’s only private beach at the La Jolla
Beach & Tennis Club. The lunch was
highlighted by a vintage multi-plane
flyover by San Diego’s most notable
pilots. The La Jolla Tour d’Elegance
participants concluded their magical
day with emcee and special guest Keith
Martin, Owner/Publisher of Sports Car
Market, an awards ceremony, and a special gift courtesy of
Robert Talbott.
Thank you again to our participants and sponsors for a
wonderful La Jolla Tour d’Elegance. A special thank you to
Bill Kellog of La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club for underwriting
the scrumptious lunch, Chris Ericson, Vern, and the rest of
the hardworking volunteers that made this incredible
afternoon of motoring a huge success!
