useless (of no use at all). They are certainly not useless. Their position
can be compared to the position of Wudhu in relation to Salaah. Just as
Wudhu is necessary for Salaah, these Madaaris are necessary for the

Despite the challenges of 2020, Alhamdulillâh, our makâtib were operational
throughout the various stages of the lockdown. All health protocols were
observed and educators and students were able to continue in learning and

This is the first Darul Uloom to be established in the
Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth.

Preparations are underway for this institute to open with
the first students arriving at the end of January in-shâ-Allâh.

There is an urgent need to assist students of impoverished
areas to learn Deen so that they serve marginalised
communities. This is waajib duty of neighbouring

persons to guide on matter of Sharia
