Barbarian Primal Path of the Hell Pit Fighter

Barbarian Primal Path of the Hell Pit Fighter

Keywords: Dungeons & Dragons

At 3rd level, a Barbarian gains the Primal Path feature. The following option is available to a Barbarian, in addition to those offered in the Player's Handbook. I tell you, he's not normal! After his disappearance five years ago, he changed... For the worse. I was so happy when he came back, but now... I don't know anymore. All he speaks about are these... Visions of hell that he presumably saw when he was not here. He told me that when some... devils... have forced him into fighting in the arena located in the deepest part of hell, earlier branding his back with some kind of a sigil. I've seen that mark and... it's disturbing, to say the least, but is it the devil's doing? He says that whenever he gets angry, the mark starts to burn with fire. Not even figuratively - literally. Yes, I didn't believe it at first, but one day he came back home with the brand burned onto the back of his shirt! I don't know what to do anymore... I've dreamed that he will be back one day, but now I wish he stayed wherever he was. Does that make me a bad person? Path of the Hell Pit Fighter features Barbarian level Feature 3rd Scorching Fists 6th Diabolical Resistance, Fiery Wrath 10th Branding Touch 14th Vision of Hell 20th Uncertain Future

Starting at 3rd level, rage that burns within you lets you scorch a creature with just a touch. While raging, you gain the following benefits: Your unarmed strikes can deal fire damage equal to 1 + your Strength modifier + half your Barbarian level on a hit. When you use the Attack action to grapple or shove a creature while raging, the target takes fire damage equal to 1d4 + half your Barbarian level if your check succeeds. At the start of each of your turns, one creature grappled by you takes fire damage equal to 1d4 + half your Barbarian level. Beginning at 6th level, you gain resistance to fire damage, and you don’t suffer the effects of extreme heat, as described in the Dungeon Master's Guide. Also at 6th level, while raging, fire damage dealt with your Scorching Fists ignores resistance and immunity to fire damage. From 10th level, dealing fire damage to a creature grappled by you grants you advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks against that creature until the end of your next turn. Beginning at 14th level, your eyes start to change into that of a devil. You can choose how they change - for example, your pupils might become snake- or goat-like, or your eyes could turn devilishy red or completely white. As an action, you can force one creature grappled by you to look into your eyes. Make a Charisma (Intimidation) check contested by the target's Wisdom (Insight) check. If your check succeeds, the target takes 8d10 psychic damage and is frightened until the end of your next turn, as it sees in them only hellfire, death and suffering. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t frightened. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest. 20th-level Barbarian feature, which replaces Primal Champion Hellfire within you completely consumed a person you used to be. When you gain this feature, your skin turns ash grey or bright red, and - at your option - you gain other minor physical attributes of a devil. You also change in the following way: Your Strength and Constitution scores increase by 4. Your maximum for those scores is now 24. Your creature type changes from Humanoid to Fiend.
