International School Manila (ISM) is a private independent school for students in Pre-School through Grade 12 and is
incorporated under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines as a non-profit, non-stock organization. It was founded in 1920
as the American School, but the name was officially changed in 1970 to reflect its diverse student population. ISM is
accredited by the US-based Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and by the Council of International Schools
(CIS) and is certified to award both the traditional US High School and International Baccalaureate Diplomas.

ISM students represent some 80 different nations with approximately 52% Asian-Pacific, 30% North American, 13%
European and the remaining 5% from other regions of the world. ISM is a college preparatory school where instruction is in
English, apart from modern language courses. We aim to prepare our students for higher education institutions around the
world with the majority of our students attending universities in the US, Canada, UK, Korea, Philippines, Japan and Australia.
