Elisha Graves Otis
Elisha Otis made the first elevator that could lift and lower people and cargo safely.
In 1874 J. W. Meaker patented a method permitting elevator doors to open and close safely. The first electric elevator was built by Werner von Siemens in 1880 in Germany.
Lifts not only make it easier to move goods, but someone with medical problems who has difficulty walking, especially for those who use a wheelchair.
