The author, Ruth Noemi H. Yu, is an architecture student from the De La Salle University –
Dasmariñas. She is an advocate of culture and the arts which can be seen through her being a former
member of the De La Salle University – Dasmariñas Chorale. As part of the group, they won one (1)
gold and two (2) silver awards from the 2017 Singapore International Chorale Festival while bearing the
name and flag of the Philippines.
The author created this book as a means to creatively inform and educate people about the
importance of culture, history, and architecture in our lives. Preserving heritage is essential to define the
community’s growth and identity and one of the first actions to preserve our heritage is through cultural
mapping as encourage by the law and government.
