Ò Shloka in sanskrit means song. Nursery wing of Daffodils English School
Association took a new step in their academic year 2019-20, by starting shloka
classes for their students .

Ò A shloka may be a praise to a particular God, or it can be a definition of how to
imagine a particular deity. Mrs.Hema Gurumurthy of Nursery wing took the pleasure
of teaching shloka to children.

Ò The objective was to help children build cognitive skills, gain peace of mind, learn
new language and gain positive vibes.

Ò Keeping the above objectives in mind, Nursery Wing organized the Kannada shloka
competition on 4/11/2019. The competition had 2 rounds. The selected participants
from the first round performed during the morning assembly in the second round on
5/11/19.The competition was judged by both Mrs Hema Gurumurthy and by
Mr.Ganesh Ananta Bhat.

CHILDRENS DAY ( BAL DIWAS)

The first prime minister of India Jawaharlal Neheru’s birthday falls on
14th of November. After his death in 1964, his birthday is celebrated
as children’s day. He believed children are the future of the nation.
They must be provided with good education. But there are some
lesser known facts about children’s day in India. Children’s Day was
first celebrated in India on 20th of November 1959.

Daffodils English School Nursery Wing also wanted to make the day
memorable for their students . Time outside benefits our physical
health. Breathing in fresh air is beneficial for children. Picnic
ensures us with a firm bonding between teachers and children.
Nursery wing had organised a fun filled, activity based picnic for
their students on the children’s day.

enjoying the shade.

SKIT ‘THE STORY OF A PENCIL’

It prepares a child to become a liberal individual
who understands the value of teamwork and
sportsman spirit in all subjects of life.
