“Take up one idea, make that one idea your life, think of it,
dream of it, let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your
body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone.
This is the way to success.” - Swami Vivekananda.

National Pollution Control Day (2nd December 2019):

 Pollution is a menace the whole world is battling with today. To create awareness about
pollution, preparatory children were given worksheets which helped them to think how best
to keep the environment clean and live disease-free. Clean Environment helps people to do
their task in a better way and live life happily.

Letter S Activity

 Children were given ice-cream sticks of red, yellow and orange colours respectively. They
had to stick it as extending Sun's rays on the pre-drawn picture of the Sun.

Counting Activity:

 Counting Activity provides an opportunity for children to learn numbers in a play-way
method.

 Children were joyfully counting out loud. They learnt to identify, recognise, value count and
associate numbers with their number names.

 The last counting word tells how many.
 Children counted three objects, but then, when asked how many, they re-count.
 But if they recognize groups of one, two, and three, then when they counted out one, they

see they have one, when they count out two, they see they have two, and when they finish
and count three they see three.
 They relate it to what they already know, and so the counting is more meaningful.

Community Helpers Day

 Children came dressed as different community helpers like Army officers, Navy officers,
police men, teachers, doctors, milk men, farmers, cleaners, traffic policemen, Pilots, IT
professionals, Dancers, politicians and Chefs.

 Children introduced themselves and spoke a few sentences about their favourite
profession.

Letter T Activity

 Each child stuck his/her photograph on the pre-drawn picture of a television set. This
activity brought in curiosity and heightened the child's imagination.

Up and Down (Scissor Activity)

The Importance of Scissor Skills

 The opening and closing motion of cutting with scissors helps children develop the small
muscles in their hands otherwise known as fine motor skills.

 Another important skill that is developed through cutting is bilateral coordination.
 Before starting the activity, a demonstration on how to hold scissors carefully without

hurting themselves or others was done.
 Later children learnt to move scissors and cut along the dotted lines of the worksheet.

Letter U Activity

 Letter U activity was a colourful and ebullient activity.
 Children made umbrellas by pasting colourful paper cones on the KG cardboard.

Newspaper Bag Activity:

 Art and craft is a form of self-expression.
 Children were given newspapers which they folded several times to create a newspaper

bag.
 Paper folding helps to stimulate the brain, especially when both hands are being used at

the same time.
