Children were excited to be back to school after their Dasara vacation and were
eager to share their stories!
World Post Office day:
World Post office day was observed on 9th October 2019.
Children were given sheets to write/colour/draw.
Children were taught to fold a small piece of paper and post it into the toy
post box.
Children were also taught to make an envelope using craft paper.
Ice Cream Stick Activity:
As a part of Deepawali festival celebration, students were given coloured ice-
cream sticks, colourful crepe papers and glue stick. A rocket was created using the
above mentioned stationery. Later these rockets were displayed as buntings on
the bulletin boards inside the school.
Introduction of Vehicles:
Children were introduced to different types of vehicles using pictures/flash
cards/toys.
They were particularly excited to see toy vehicles and also made sounds
related to vehicles like ambulance, train and scooter.
Letter M Activity:
Letter M was introduced with simple strokes (standing and slanting lines).
Children decorated a pre-drawn picture of a mat using shredded wool of
vibrant colours.
Rhyme Competition:
Rhyme Competition was held on 18th October 2019 in Daffodils Cradle to
Crayons.
Children recited rhymes with actions based on a given theme.
The themes given were Fruits, Vegetables or Transportation.
Rhyme helps in cognitive development, Language acquisition and enrichment
of vocabulary.
Aeroplane Craft using Wooden Pegs:
Children were given wooden pegs and ice cream sticks to make an aeroplane.
Children first coloured the wooden pegs and later pasted ice cream sticks on it.
Letter N Activity:
Letter N was introduced by showing pictures of nest, net, neck and nose.
Children decorated the pre-drawn picture of a nest using brown twine and
coloured egg shells.
Colour week:
Week 3 of October was observed as Colour week.
Each day a colour was chosen and children came dressed according to the
colour code mentioned.
Colours introduced were Yellow, Blue and Red.
Deepawali Special Assembly Programme:
Deepawali Special Assembly programme was conducted on 24th October 2019 in
Daffodils English School.
Children came dressed in ethnic wear and danced to the tune of festive music
with happiness and joy.
This learning experience made children more confident and removed stage fear
as many children were first time performers on stage. Children learnt to dance in
coordination and synchronisation with music.
