Pookolam

Pookalam forms a vital part in the welcoming of King Mahabali who visits only once a year to
enquire happiness of his people. The floral rangoli or the 'Pookalam' is an integral part of the
celebration of Onam.

In order to create an awareness and appreciation among children for the cultural vibrancy of each
state, Onam was celebrated in the school. The celebrations started with the making of a traditional,
flower decoration called 'Pookolam' which was a sight to behold and spread the spirit of festivity.
Children were asked to bring flowers of their choice and make a colourful Rangoli.

Number Names (Paper Cup
Activity)

It is an exciting time in a student's
academic life when he or she realizes
that a number has a name and can be
spelled. After learning number words
expect your young students to use them
in their writing time.
Students were given numbers written in
a piece of paper and asked to place
them in the cups containing their
respective number names.

Sentence Making Activity

Sentence building and writing is a
main ingredient in every KG II
classroom. Given the right recipe, your
developing writers will be cooking up a
sentence feast in no time! Add a dash
or two of fun, and they’ll be begging
for the secret sentence recipe time
and again throughout the school year.
Cut out of words were given to a
group of students to form meaningful
sentences.
