Chambergram 3 From The Chairman of the Board Kicker Cardenas Kicker Insures Me Agency Dear Chamber Members, I hope this letter finds you off to a great start in this new year! As the Chairman of the Board for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, I want to extend a warm welcome to each of you. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to assist such a diverse tapestry of businesses that form the bedrock of our dynamic community. I am eager to embrace the opportunities and successes in our collective journey in 2024. As a small business owner in the insurance industry, I understand the challenges and triumphs that many of you navigate daily. Our Chamber is here to support your business, provide valuable resources, foster collaboration, and create an environment where all businesses can thrive. A great example of this was the quick actions of our Chamber during the historic tornado that left a path of destruction through Pasadena and neighboring cities in January of 2023. Many businesses and individuals were affected, even devastated, and our Chamber took action immediately in disseminating information to assist in the recovery of our local business community. Our chamber directly impacted my business as well. I gained invaluable relationships from attending the leadership program, IMPACT. Our office designed a new customer satisfaction survey based on lessons learned while attending the Free Pasadena Loves Local event which was attended by myself and some of my staff. Also, we have shared our expertise with other businesses so they can explore and decide on new technologies to transform their business. We encourage you to immerse your business in the Chamber allowing all team members in your organization to benefit. Everyone can engage in the events and take advantage of the opportunities available. Watch your team transform your business by gaining leadership skills, sales training, marketing assistance, and knowledge of the area that many of them not only work in but may also live in, play in, or worship in. Their involvement can propel the business’s success and also magnify our collective impact on our community. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make Pasadena a better place for all. Please feel free to contact me or any member of our staff with your suggestions, concerns, or ideas. Your input is invaluable as we continue to move our community forward! Sincerely, Kicker Cardenas, Chairman - PCOC Kicker Insures Me Agency - President & Principal Agent

2024 Business of the Year About Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union Gulf Coast Educators FCU is a credit union dedicated to serving the financial needs of school employees and their families throughout the state of Texas. GCEFCU offers the same products and services of a big bank, designed specifically for school employees. We provide a broad line of financial services to our members, including free savings and checking accounts, low-rate loans, credit cards, mortgages, and more. History Gulf Coast Educators FCU was originally founded in 1948 by 11 Pasadena ISD employees, and was named Pasadena Schools FCU. Over the years, we expanded our field of membership to serve more educators across the greater Houston area. Eventually, the credit union changed its name to Gulf Coast Educators FCU. Today, GCEFCU is open exclusively to all school employees and their families in the state of Texas. Commitment to Education As an educator’s credit union, we know the importance of investing in education, and the value it brings to our community. Last year we gave back just under $400,000 in the form of education foundation and school district donations, educator appreciation events, classroom grants, scholarships, and more. Donating money isn’t the only way GCEFCU invests in education – The credit union’s management team also serves as Board Members for several local Education Foundations. Currently, GCEFCU is represented on 15 education foundations, volunteering hundreds of hours every year. Gulf Coast Educators FCU’s President and CEO, Mrs. Linda Lukaszewski, is a Board Member for Pasadena ISD Education Foundation. The credit union proudly sponsors several events and causes in Pasadena, including contributing to PISD’s Annual Campaign, New Teacher event, Shining Stars Recognition, Athletic Hall of Fame, Golf Tournament, Fill the Bus, McDonald’s Texas Invitational, and much more. What Makes Us Different At Gulf Coast Educators FCU, we believe that education is the most valuable investment one can make. When we invest money and human power into our schools and educators, we know that our return will not only benefit us, but the future of our community as a whole. We believe in the work that our educatormembers do, and strive to help them in any way we can, both in the classroom and at home. Gulf Coast Educators has proudly served the Pasadena community since 1948, and we look forward to the many more years to come. Chambergram 10
