Several hundred voters, community stakeholders and elected officials attended the Texas Congressional District 9 candidate forum hosted by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Held at Texas Chiropractic College, 12 of the 15 candidates running in the Republican or Democratic primary participated in the forum. The Government Relations Committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 3:30pm at the Pasadena Chamber office. All members welcome. The forum was split into two panels, Republican and Democrat (pictured above Republican on the left and Democrat on the right), with valuable community engagement before and after each panel. The candidates were asked to succinctly provide answers to questions on topics submitted by Pasadena Chamber members. Topics included campaign priorities, pro-business policies, transportation and infrastructure, healthcare and bipartisanship. Each candidate was also asked to give a closing statement detailing how they would turn campaign promises into actionable results for constituents of the newly drawn 9th Congressional District of Texas. A recording of the event can be found here {insert link}.The Pasadena Chamber would like to thank the sponsors and partners who helped make the event possible: Texas Chiropractic College, MyCHN, Azalea Creek Catering & Events, Community Transformation Church, DK Media, Pasadena Police Department, Clark Freight Lines, Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership and the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. The forum can be seen on the Pasadena Chamber’s channel by CLICKING HERE.Pasadena Chamber Heads to WashingtonThe Pasadena Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its inaugural Washington D.C. fly-in. Gulf Coast Protection District UpdateThe Gulf Coast Protection District, a Pasadena Chamber of Commerce ally, recently shared positive news regarding $5 million in federal funding for the Coastal Texas Project. The United States Senate and House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2026 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill earlier this month, which includes funding for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-led project. The bill was signed by President Trump on January 23rd, marking the largest federal appropriation for the Coastal Texas Project.Designed to protect the people, property, investments and infrastructure along the upper Texas coast, the Coastal Texas Project is jointly funded by the federal government and non-federal sponsors, the Gulf Coast Protection District and the Texas General Land Office. The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce has advocated for funding of the project at a state and federal level in order to keep our community safe from future natural disasters. We offer our appreciation to local elected officials who have championed this funding effort. You can read the full announcement from the Gulf Coast Protection District by CLICKING HERE.Chambergram 5

By: Debbie SimmonsAnchor PointWhat Businesses Can Learn from a Season of Growth and HopeFebruary is a natural checkpoint. The rush of January has settled, goals are underway, and leaders begin asking an important question: Are we building something meaningful—or just staying busy?In my work alongside both business and nonprofit leaders, I’ve learned that some of the most powerful growth doesn’t always show up first on a spreadsheet. Sometimes it shows up in restored confidence, healthier relationships, and people discovering hope again. At Anchor Point, this past year has been one of those seasons. What began as a mission to support families through unexpected challenges has expanded into a clear reminder of a leadership truth: when purpose leads, performance follows. We’ve seen individuals move from crisis to clarity, parents gain tools and confidence, and families take real steps toward stability. And along the way, there have been lessons any organization—nonprofit or business—can apply.Clarity creates momentum. We became more intentional about our “why” and our priorities. Instead of trying to do everything, we focused on what mattered most. In business, clarity reduces confusion, strengthens culture, and accelerates results.People are the strategy. Growth isn’t just systems; it’s people. When teams feel supported and developed, they bring stronger ideas, better service, and higher ownership. Investing in people doesn’t slow progress—it sustains it. Integrity builds lasting trust. Trust has been the foundation of our progress with families, partners, and supporters. In business, trust is the difference between one-time transactions and long-term loyalty.Hope is a competitive advantage. Hope changes how people show up. When someone believes improvement is possible, resilience rises, creativity returns, and commitment deepens. That’s true for clients and customers—and it’s true for employees. One of the most meaningful outcomes this year has been watching families who once felt overwhelmed now moving forward with stability and confidence. That kind of transformation doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of intentional leadership, community support, and a commitment to doing what lasts. As you lead into the rest of 2026, consider this: What is growing because of the way you lead? Who is better because your organization exists? Because when purpose leads performance, the impact reaches far beyond the bottom line.Chambergram 26
