IMPACT Pasadena cohorts are given opportunities to engage
with other community leaders through outside events and
access. This has included attending the Economic Alliance
Banquet and hearing from Bruce Hamilton, author of No Bad
Days and having lunch with Scott McClelland, HEB President at
the chamber luncheon.

The participants later traveled to Austin for 2 days of immersive
learning. They learned about state legislature and how the
legislative process works. Meetings were held with Senator Larry
Taylor and Carol Alvarado, as well as office visits with House
Representatives Mary Ann Perez, Briscoe Cain and Dennis Paul.
The IMPACT participants were introduced on the House floor, toured the Capitol and sat in on committee meetings
to see the process in action. Jeff Moseley, CEO of Texas Association of Business, also spoke to the group about the
importance of economic development, state legislature and cultivating leaders for the future.

Participants were able to take a back stage tour of Austin City Limits and hear about running the theatre and their
business model. Day 1 ended with an intimate dinner and presentation from UT Professor Dr. John Butler who spoke
to his experiences in entrepreneurship and his engagement in economic development for the city of Austin.

A: Norman Rockwell inspires me to incorporate story into

A: Artists on social media who explore all sorts of interesting
subjects when it comes to my own art. For art competitions,
I go to my art teachers and we discuss what would be best
