I am so excited to be starting my year as Board Allatia Harris
Chair for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.
I follow some incredible leaders like Alix Fox,
Melinda Torrison, and Ken Phelps. I am in awe of
their commitment to honoring Pasadena’s rich
history, while at the same time charting our course
to a prosperous future for an inclusive Pasadena,
refreshed, revitalized, and focused on opportunities.

For those of you who don’t know me, I have been Dr. Allatia Harris with outgoing chairman fo the board, Alix Fox
employed by San Jacinto College for more than
13 years. For the past eight years, I have served
as the College’s Vice Chancellor for Strategic
Initiatives where my focus has been on developing
a workforce that attracts businesses and industry
to our region. I also work to connect with our
communities in ways that are beneficial to all. I
am fortunate to be one of the facilitators of the
Chamber’s IMPACT Pasadena leadership program,

Chevron Pasadena Refinery Honored as 2021 Industry of the Year

It was a wonderful turnout at the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Annual Industrial Appreciation
Membership luncheon, where we were able to honor our 2021 Industry of the Year award recipient, Chevron
Pasadena Refinery.
The Chevron Pasadena Refinery creates ever-cleaner energy products that fuel progress here and around the
world. From gasoline to diesel to chemical feedstocks, every product is produced with care by a dedicated
team of Chevron operators, engineers, scientists and other professionals. Our people focus continually on safe,
reliable operations to provide energy in an environmentally responsible way.
Chevron purchased Pasadena Refining System, Inc. (PRSI) in May 2019 for three business reasons.
1. The refinery offers Chevron a strategic location to process Texas crude oil we produce in the Permian Basin.
2. This facility helps supply 1,500 Chevron and Texaco retail stations in Texas, with a strong presence here in

the Greater Houston area.
3. This plant teams up with a Chevron refinery in Mississippi on product exchanges and maintenance

planning.
The Chevron Pasadena Refinery can process 110 thousand barrels of oil per day and store 5.1 million barrels
on our 466-acre complex.

State of the City Luncheon

Join us at this year’s State of the City luncheon on February 17, 2022, an event we have partnered with the City of

Pasadena on for many years. Guests will hear updates from the Pasadena Chamber, being among the first to know
what to expect from them in 2022. During the program, you will also find out who the recipient of the 2022 Business of
the Year award will be. We can’t wait to find out who will win the award this year!

During this event, Mayor Jeff Wagner also presents his annual State of the City address so guests can find out all of
the new and exciting things going on in the City of Pasadena!

We are so excited to host this event once again at the Pasadena Convention Center, and our friends over at Ernie’s
Cafe and Catering are gearing up to serve you one of their famous signature dishes.
