Pasadena Loves Local Presents: Small Business Resource Fair

Pasadena and our surrounding communities are comprised of small businesses that help tell the story of who we are and why

people should choose Pasadena to live, work, or even just visit! In a community as large and culturally diverse as Pasadena, it can
be exciting to go exploring throughout the city to see all the options there are when it comes to our small businesses.

What you may not realize, however, is that our small business owners have been through a lot these past few years, from battling
through an unforeseen pandemic to dealing with employee turnovers, inflation and supply shortages. It has definitely been a
struggle for many of our friends who are trying to make a living in
our great city!

As the voice for business, YOUR Pasadena Chamber of
Commerce knew we had to do something for our small
businesses.

As part of our partnership with the City of Pasadena and the
Pasadena Economic Development Corporation with our Pasadena
Loves Local initiative, we are hosting a Small Business Resource
Fair on June 29th, from 8am - 10am. This event is open to the
public, whether you are a Pasadena Chamber member or not.

During the first portion of the event, you will hear a panel
discussion from experts at the Small Business Administration
(SBA), the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), SCORE
and San Jacinto College on the many resources that are available
to you as a small business in our community.

For the second portion of the event, we will invite guests to walk
around and visit with some of the participating organizations on
how to do business with them, whether it be through catering,
printing needs, major contracts and everything in between.

We want to thank McDonalds for providing FREE breakfast for all
of our attendees!

Jeanna Bamburg named CEO of The Woman’s Hospital of

Aspen Institute Names San Jacinto College as a Finalist for the
2023 Aspen Prize
Today the Aspen Institute named San Jacinto College one of
the 10 finalists for the 2023 Aspen Prize for Community College
Excellence — an honor that follows the College’s recognition as an
Aspen Prize Finalist with Distinction in 2021, Aspen Prize Finalist in
2019, and Aspen Prize Rising Star in 2017.
The $1 million Aspen Prize is the nation’s signature recognition
of community colleges that are achieving high and equitable
outcomes for students. The 10 finalists represent the amazing
potential of the more than 1,100 community colleges across the
country as engines of prosperity and social mobility. San Jacinto
College has distinguished itself in innovative instructional and
student support strategies; and leads the nation in Hispanic
