My name is Milea Cosby and I am proud to serve we are working together to advance and grow
as your 2023 Chairman of the Board! into a thriving community.

For the past 10 years, I’ve been grateful to work in Thank you for being part of the change,

the 2019 IMPACT Pasadena cohort that I began Best,
to realize the amazing connectedness of our
community. Each person I’ve met has a great Milea Cosby

• Pasadena is the 2nd largest city outside of
Houston. It’s larger than Sugarland, Pearland
or the Woodlands.

• Our Pasadena Independent School District
(PISD) has over 50,000 students, teachers and
faculty.

• The Armand Bayou Nature Center is one of
the largest urban wilderness preserves in the
US. It contains 2500 acres of natural wetlands
forest, prairie and marsh habitats and is home
to over 370 species of birds, mammals, reptiles

Everyone wants to make valuable connections, and the Pasadena Chamber offers you a variety of opportunities to

meet with other like-minded business professionals in our community. Networking in business is one of the best resources
for career development and professional success. A good network can provide job leads, possibilities for advancement
and opportunities for personal improvement. We are excited to offer you a variety of opportunities in 2023 to make the
connections you want to make! One of the best ways to get connected is to join one of the many committees we have
available (only available to members of the Chamber) Check out the list of available committees below and click on
the staff persons name next to the one you are interested in to send an email and get put on the committee list. This

Ambassadors - Represent, promote and encourage participation in chamber activities and are the face of the
organization in welcoming new members. Ambassador objectives include promoting membership in the Chamber,
facilitating networking among members, and encouraging meaningful participation and involvement in Chamber
events and programs in order to enhance the membership benefits received by each member, strengthen member
commitment, and increase long term member retention. They meet monthly, on the second Tuesday of each month, at
9:00 a.m. at the Chamber office.

Non-Profit Network - The purpose of this committee is to provide an avenue for non-profit and church Chamber
members to share ideas and resources in order to better serve our community. They meet monthly, the 1st Thursday of
each month at 8:30 am at the chamber office.

Government Relations- The purpose of the Government Relations Committee is to be a strong, well-informed advocate
for the business community in monitoring and influencing policy at the local, state, and national level. The chamber will
advocate for policies and legislation that contribute to the growth, prosperity, and sustainability of our city and region.
Committee meetings offer a forum for members to hear regular updates from elected officials and presentations related
to government and economic development. They meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 3:30pm at the Chamber
office.

Workforce Development - The purpose of the Workforce Development Committee is to shape the future of Pasadena's
workforce. By partnering with other non-profits and educational institutions, this committee will help connect people to
the resources they need. They meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30am at the Chamber office.

Annual State of the City Luncheon

Join us at this year’s State of the City luncheon on Platinum Sponsor: Chevron Pasadena Refinery
February 16, 2023, an event we have partnered with 2022 Business of the Year: Bayway Auto Group
the City of Pasadena on for many years. Guests will
hear updates from the Pasadena Chamber, being
among the first to know what to expect from them in
2023. During the program, you will also find out who
the recipient of the 2022 Citizen of the Year and 2023
Business of the Year will be. We can’t wait to find out
who will win these awards!

During this event, Pasadena Mayor Jeff Wagner
also presents his annual State of the City address so
guests can find out all of the new and exciting things
going on in the city of Pasadena!

We are so excited to host this event once again at
the Pasadena Convention Center, and our friends

Human Trafficking Awareness & Prevention Event CLICK HERE

Spreading knowledge and awareness is a critical factor
in the fight against this heinous crime. We invite you to
join us in our campaign to combat Human Trafficking
by educating as many people as possible on this crime
happening all around us. In 2020, Texas ranked second
in the nation for reported human trafficking cases. You
may register for this FREE event by clicking here. This
event is NOT limited to BAHEP members only. The goal
is to educate as many people as possible on this crime
and how we can work together to put a stop to it.

Pasadena Animal Shelter’s Pets & Pumpkins!

The Pasadena Animals Shelter’s Pets & Pumpkins event is
coming up on October 29th, from 11am - 4pm and they
are currently in need of trunk or treat participants.

Ways to Help: Decorate a vehicle for Trunk or Treat, Be
a vendor in the market, Participate in the pet or child
costume contest, Donate a door prize or a bag of
candy, Adopt an animal during the event, Come enjoy
a day of fun for the whole family (including fur babies!)

Retention Tax

Credit

What is the Employee Retention Tax Credit?

Were you in business in 2020? Did you have to suspend or partially suspend operations due to
the pandemic? Did you experience a gross decline in receipts during the calendar quarter?

If you answered yes to these questions you may qualify for the Employee Retention Tax
Credit!

The Employee Retention Credit under the CARES Act encourages businesses to keep
employees on their payroll. The refundable tax credit is 50% of up to $10,000 in wages paid
by an eligible employer whose business has been financially impacted by COVID-19.

Join San Jacinto College SBDC and the Evelyn Meador Library on January 19, 2023 from
6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Evelyn Meador Library to learn more about the Employee Retention
Tax Credit.
