Chairman Question of the Month

TO THE OFFICE OR NOT TO THE OFFICE, THAT IS THE QUESTION.
As I speak with different companies in various industries, it strikes me that
the opinions are split about half and half. Some companies, of all indus-
tries, are ready to embrace the work-from-home model, which allows
them to spend their rent money elsewhere and reinvent their employee
playbook. Other company owners are ready to see their employees
back in the office as of yesterday. Others still, are settling somewhere in
the middle with a model that has employees rotating in and out of the
office two to three days a week.
It is really interesting to hear the feedback and reasons for the different points of view. Much of it is based on
the needs/wants of the employees and the highly competitive employment market. The reality is that every
person works differently, regardless of their type of job. Some people crave and need comradery in their
workplace and others prefer quiet solitude to complete their tasks. We will not really understand the long-
term impact on office space and workplace environments for a few years.
We are curious to hear your take on it, whether you are an employer or and employee. In the office, out of
the office, or somewhere in the middle? Email your comments/feedback to [email protected]

Pasadena Loves Local Committee Launches The First Workshop of 2021
We are excited to announce the launch of the first Pasadena Loves Local Breakfast Workshop of 2021,
in partnership with the Pasadena Economic Development Corporation. The overall purpose of the
Pasadena Loves Local initiative is to promote the community benefits of supporting local businesses with
an emphasis on engaging with local businesses to identify needs, share resources and cultivate greater
commitment to Pasadena.

To ensure this journey is beneficial to our local businesses, we will be hosting a series of workshops aimed
at giving them the tools and resources needed to help their businesses be as successful as possible. The
first of this series will be a workshop led by a professional Google trainer that will walk businesses through
the steps of creating a FREE Google Business Profile, as well as teach them how to connect with potential
customers online. It is so important that our businesses have an online presence that is accurate and up
