GATHERING

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

PRELUDE Behold, I Do a New Thing Kerby

(John Michael Jones, Pianist)

LIGHTING THE CHRIST CANDLE

*CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalter) Mark Dotson, Liturgist

Oh sing to the LORD a new song;
For God has done marvelous things!

Sing to the LORD a new song;
Sing to the LORD, all the earth.

God has put a new song in our mouth,
It is a song of praise to our God.

*HYMN (Insert) Here I Am to Worship

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O God of New Life, You have come into our hearts with
Your Holy Spirit to do a new thing.

Yet we confess: We don’t like the new; we prefer our old ways.
We don’t like change – new songs, new friends, new habits.
We’d rather stay with the tried and true, the old and familiar.

Change scares us with its risks and challenges.
Your Holy Spirit scares us, too.

O God, forgive us. Forgive us for being stuck in our sinful ways.
Forgive us for resisting the new life Your Spirit can bring.
Help us now to trust Your loving, new ways
that will remake our life into something
useful and beautiful for Your glory…

(Silent confession…)
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. AMEN.

This is the Lord’s Table. It is made ready for those who have been baptized; for
those who love Jesus Christ and want to love Him more. Baptized children who
are being nurtured and instructed in the faith are invited to partake of this holy
meal. This is the feast of God for the people of God.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise…

As The Lord’s Supper is served and the music played, receive the grace of Christ in
