JUAN EKIS
Juan Ekis has won Palanca Awards for his plays and poetry and was Broadway
World PH’s Best Director for 2018. He was a fellow to the 58th UP National Writers
Workshop. His works have been staged at 3 previous VLF’s, won at the Short and
Sweet festivals, and showcased in various venues and festivals here and abroad.
He co-wrote the Libretto to Ryan Cayabyab’s “Lorenzo: A Rock Musical” with Paul
Dumol and Joem Antonio. He also co-wrote the Libretto to Verne dela Peña’s “Putri
Anak” with En Villasis, produced by the UP College of Music. He is a member of LIRA
and The Writer’s Bloc. He finished his Master’s Degrees in Information Technology,
Humanities, and Business Economics at the UA&P and is currently finishing his PhD
in Creative Writing in Filipino at the University of the Philippines.
KARL ALEXIS JINGCO

Lian Silverio as Kuya
Lian fell in love with theater when he joined The CEU Dramatic Guild under the tutelage of the
late great Jef-Henson Dee. Lian Dreams of performing on different stages and telling stories
that are compelling and lifechanging. Being part of The Virgin Labfest is a realization of that
dream.

Mia Bolaños as Nanay
Mia obtained a Bachelor of Music major in Voice degree at St. Scholastica’s College Manila in
1992. She was a Francisco Buencamino Music Foundation scholar.
In 1994, Mia essayed the role of Cio-cio san in Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly which was
staged at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
This was followed by Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro staged at the Philamlife Auditorium where
she essayed the role of Barbarina. For Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident theater company of the
CCP, she has performed in musicals namely: Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo as Maria
Clara understudy and chorus, Ilustrado: Ang Buhay ni Rizal as Saturnina Rizal and chorus,
Himala: The Musical as Aling Saling understudy and chorus, Zsa-zsa Zaturnnah: Ze Muzikal as
Aling Britney, and Pilipinas Circa as Senyora Pilar. She was one of the delegates in the World
Expo held in Nagoya Japan in 2005 and was one of the cast members which performed Himala: The Musical in The Asian
Theater Conference held in Shanghai, China in 2007. She was part of the cast of Bituing Walang Ningning, essayed the
role of Doña Maura in the Zarzuela Paglayang Minamahal, Haring Karon in Medea for the Langgam Performance Troupe,
was one of the featured performers in Triple Threats Ensemble: KORO/NASYON, played the role of Dionisia Mabini in Mabin-
ing Mandirigma, the role of Junyee’s mother in Balag at Angud staged at the CCP’s Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino, UP Los
Baños, and UP Diliman. Last 2019, Mia was Doña Victorina in Noli Me Tangere, the Opera staged at the CCP’s Tanghalang
Nicanor Abelardo and Dionisia Mabini in Mabining Mandirigma staged at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino.
At present, Mia is a faculty member at the St. Scholastica’s College School of Music.
Tommy Alejandrino as Tindero:
Tommy Alejandrino is a Theater Arts graduate of the Philippine High School for the Arts. He
portrayed Angelito Bernal in both of Jerrold Tarog’s “GOYO: Ang Batang Heneral”, and the
preceding short film “Angelito”. He was nominated for Best Performance of an Actor in the
CinéMapua 2020 Online Filmfest for the collegiate short film “LAST 2,3,4!”, where he was able
to integrate his gymnastics background in his role. Tommy also enjoys karaoke.

ANTHONY KIM VERGARA
Anthony Kim Vergara graduated from Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Bataan,
with a BS in Information Technology. He is currently working as an IT Security
Specialist for an American Oil Company. A member of The Writer’s Bloc and
an active senior member of Tanghalang Tatsulok, a community-based theater
group in Bataan. He also works part-time as a photographer and a freelance
talent for TVC’s, Indie films and Digital Ads. As part of his passion for theater,
he took part in various stage plays in Bataan as an actor which includes
“PATINTERO (Musical play)”, “Huling Gabi sa Maragondon”, “Anino”, “Ambon
ng Kristal” and “Isang Gabi sa Rotonda”. This is his 4th consecutive Virgin
Labfest play. His previous Labfest works are the following: “Ang Inyong mga
Anak: Si Harold at Napoleon”, “A Family Reunion” and “The Boy-boy and
Friends Channel”. His first play ever to be staged titled “Departure” was part
of Short+Sweet Theater Festival Manila 2017, then around 2019 - one of his
works titled “The Interview” became part of the same festival where he was
awarded as “Best local Playwright”. If he doesn’t have any freelance projects,
He spends most of his time building Plastic Models and Mechanical Keyboards.
He considers Allan Lopez as his first mentor in Playwriting.
ERIKA ESTACIO
Erika Estacio is a stage manager, dramaturg, translator, playwright, and
theatre director. Her past productions include the Philippine Educational
Theater Association’s “Under My Skin” (stage manager), Tanghalang Pilipino’s
“Mga Buhay na Apoy” (dramaturg), Dulaang Sipat Lawin’s “The Pope and the
Witch” (translator and director), Never Again: Voices of Martial Law’s “Duyan
Ka ng Magiting” (playwright and director), and Virgin Labfest 2020’s “Papaano
Turuan ang Babae Humawak ng Baril” (director). She also stage manages for
GMA 7’s “All Out Sundays” and teaches stage management and beginning
directing at the Philippine High School for the Arts.

Marynor Madamesila as Claire
Marynor is a singer, mover, and actor for the stage, TV and film. A proud alumna of UP Diliman, this Bacoleña graduated
Cum Laude with a degree in BA Theatre Arts. She was in ABSCBN’s Pamilya Ko and La Vida Lena, Dreamscape’s Oh Man-
do! and Iflix’s Beauty and the Boss. For the theatre, she was recently part of CCP’s online staging of Lam-ang the Musical,
PETA’s Rak of Aegis and The Metropolitan Theatre’s First Production after 25 years—Lapulapu: Ang Datu ng Mactan.
Her other theatre credits include playing Prinsesa Mina in PETA’s Tagutaguan Nasaan Ang Buwan, Amor De Sangre in Ate-
neo Blue Repertory’s Skin Deep, Woman in Short+Sweet’s Audience Favorite, Errr…???, Persephone / Ensemble in Haraya
Collective’s Panta Rhei, Anna 1 in Dulaang Laboratoryo’s Pitong Patibong. For Dulaang UP, she played Actress D in The
Dressing Room, Mrs. Capule / Mrs. Montes / Psychiatrist / Ensemble in #R</3J, Adarna / Donya Maria Blanca / Leonora /

in Bilanggo ng Pag-ibig, Collection, and Noli Me Tangere The Opera. She was also part of the Ensemble in Cultural Center
of the Philippines’ Triple Threat Concert Series: Ze Mamu and Papu Show!, and played Gabriela Silang in Sinong Bayani?:
The 500-day Countdown Cultural Performance to the 500th Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of Mactan at the
National Museum of Natural History.
Earvin Estioco as Rick
Earvin recently graduated with a degree in BFA Theatre Arts from the Ateneo de Manila University. He was also awarded
with the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts for Performance. Currently, he is a member of Black Canvas, a young multi-arts
platform engaging in care culture, ecological healing, and global justice through creative collaborations, community
engagements, and intercultural works.
As a proud alumnus of Tanghalang Ateneo, some of his theatre credits include: Si Janus Silang at ang Tiyanak ng Tabon
(Janus), Si Janus Silang at ang Labanang Manananggal-Mambabarang (Janus), Lysistrata ng Bakwit (Carding/Caloy),
The Squaddies’ Shrew 2.0 (Squaddie Earvin), Marisol (Man with Scar Tissue), Fluid (Alben), and AKO: Alpha Kappa Omega
(Arni Enriquez). This is his first Virgin Labfest as an actor for the set plays and his first onsite theatre production since the
COVID19 pandemic.
Gabo Tolentino as Peps
Gabo is a full-time performing arts teacher in the De La Salle University Senior High School, Arts and Design Track (The-
atre Arts). He is a BA Theatre Arts Graduate in UP Diliman and currently exploring the theatre industry from community to
professional theatre companies.
He was a delegate/participant in the 11thAsia Pacific Bond: Theater Schools and Performing Festival @ Indonesia, Yog-
yakarta last September 2018. He was an actor in Lam-Ang: an ethno-epic musical under Tanghalang Pilipino (2019) and
in VLF 2020: Kapit (Boy-boy and Friends Channel) under the Cultural Center of the Philippines which was performed on an
online platform. He also voiced Judas in the recent Papet Pasyon 2021 under Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas. He was also
part of the Virgin Labfest 16 Writing Fellowship Program Showcase as an actor. He is part of Areté, Tanghalang Ateneo’s
2Bayani: Isang Rock Operang alay kay Andres Bonifacio, that was shot during the Covid-19 Pandemic at the Hyundai Hall.
Jerom Canlas as Benjo
Jerom is an interdisciplinary artist whose roots come from theater, film, and community development. Collaborative,
innovative, empowering, and radical—these are the works he aims to create.
Jojo Cayabyab as Fr. Oks
Jojo Cayabyab is an Associate Member of Theatre Movement Bazaar in Los Angeles, California. He was last seen in
Dulaang UP’s Fuente Ovejuna directed by Tony Mabesa. This is Jojo’s second time in the VLF, his first was in Sari Saysay’s
Ang Bata sa Bus Stop directed by Topper Fabregas.
Kyrie Samodio as Mary
Kyrie Allison Samodio is a performer, performance-maker, and caffeine + horror film connoisseur. They graduated as a
Theatre Arts Major from the Philippine High School for the Arts, playing a number of roles under Dulaang Sipat Lawin,
namely, Lucia and Anghel in “Nagwawalang Gubat”, Babaeng Itawis from Chris Millado’s “Buwan at Baril in Eb Major”,
Irma from “Mga Lukaret ng Intramuros”, and Katleen from “Gruesome Playground Injuries”. Alongside school, they also
performed in plays under Tanghalang Pilipino in Kanakan Balintagos’ “Mga Buhay na Apoy”, and Harlequin Theatre
Guild’s “Fish Hair Woman”. Upon graduating and being confined to their home due to the pandemic, they drabbled in on-
line performances and film by acting in Umalohokan, Inc.’s “Isko’t Iska: Mga Oda ng Pilipino Sa Pakikibaka”, and Loyola
Film Circle’s “What Was Left Unsaid”. Currently, they’re a student under UP Diliman’s Art Studies program, constantly
surrounded by essays left unwritten and a pack of cup noodles ready to be eaten.

MIKAELA REGIS
Mika graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a double degree in
BFA Creative Writing and AB Literature (English) and was awarded the Loyola
Schools Award for the Arts for Playwriting and the Mulry Award for Literary
Excellence. Her experience includes writing and performing for student
theater organizations such as Ateneo ENTABLADO and Tanghalang Ateneo,
and national writing workshops with Ateneo de Manila University and De La
Salle University. She is currently a Copywriter at a global media and creative
agency in Taguig but continues to dream about the many other opportunities
to write stories for theater and film one day, soon.

Pat Valera is a playwright, director, adaptation dramaturg, and
producer for the stage.

Joy is a cultural worker and freelance artist. Some of their acting credits
include Pagkatapos (2019) at the Shorts and Briefs Cinco; Mula Kina Cain
At Abel (2019) at the Virgin Labfest; A Woman’s Place (2019) at the Asia
Pacific Bond of Theater Schools in Hanoi, Vietnam; Wanted: A Chaperon
(2018) at the Philippine Embassy in Paris, France; Alpha Kappa Omega
(2019, Tanghalang Ateneo); Fluid (2018, Ateneo Fine Arts); and Libingan
ng Medyo Bayani (2018, Ateneo ENTABLADO). They were also a recipient
of the Loyola Schools Awards for the Arts for Acting. They currently work at
the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
Ash Nicanor as Mitch Cruz
Ash Nicanor is a freelance actress for stage, film, music videos and TV
series. She took up Theatre Arts at UP Diliman and is currently studying
Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino in the same University. Her most recent
productions were Love in 40 Days, Viral (both series under ABS-CBN),
Kagat ng Dilim (TV5), Pepito Manaloto (GMA), and Original Grace (CCP
Showcase for women’s month). Aside from all these, she is passionate in
singing, dancing and in playing the guitar.

ANDREW BONIFACIO CLETE
Andrew Bonifacio L. Clete graduated from Philippine Normal University. He
is currently taking his graduate studies in De La Salle University Manila
with the degree of Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. He nuis a fellow
from 13th Ateneo National Writers Workshop for Drama, 9th Palihang Rogelio
Sicat for Fiction, 12th Virgin LabFest Fellowship Writing Program, 20th UST
National Writers Workshop for Drama, Henry Lee Irwin SJ Chair Creative
Writing Workshop for Theater Adaptation, and a Grant Recipient for Drama in
Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Mini-Grant 2018 and 2021. He is also
a member of Writer’s Bloc.
ROOBAK VALLE
Roobak studied Mathematics in college yet chose a career in the arts. He
is an actor, a director, a choreographer, writer and workshop facilitator. He
is presently the Resident Director for the Gantimpala Theater Foundation.
He rarely hesitates to accept work from other theater companies. He has
participated in the Virgin Labfest as a director since 2006-2020 except in
2011.

Via is a tv, film and theatre actress. She graduated from UP Diliman
with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and is currently taking her Ma
in Counseling. Juggling her different roles as a student, counselor and
freelance artists- she advocates on holistic health and wellness.
Martha Nikko Comia as Mrs Apple
Martha is an alumna of Tanghalang Pilipino Actors Company. Besides TP, she has done a number of
plays with PETA and DUP. She also acted in films, a lot of those where featured in Cinemalaya and
Cinema One Originals. She also acts in television mostly in ABS CBN. She also has a degree in Masters
in Entrepreneurship in Ateneo Graduate School of Business and she is now running their family
business.
Maria Bagio as Bireng
Maria Alilia Bagio, better known as Mosang, is a Filipina actress. She
is a graduate of Mass Communications majoring in Broadcasting
in Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Almost a decade in the
entertainment industry. Mosang is known for portraying various roles in
several films, Ded na si Lolo, T2, and Segunda Mano. She is also known for
portraying Bettina “”Baby”Reyes in the comedy series, Pepito Manaloto.

Paulo Cabañero is an actor who took part in VLF 1 “Gee-gee at Waterina”

RYAN MACHADO
Ryan Machado is a lecturer, playwright and filmmaker who writes two
languages: Tagalog, and his mother tongue, Onhan. His one-act play “Ang
Nabilin Nga Aswang’’ (The Last Aswang) won first prize at Dungug Kinaray-a,
a literary contest for writers in the Kinaray-a language. This has been his
third time to be part of the Virgin Labfest, his two other plays namely “Ang
Mga Puyong’’ and “Isang Gabing ang Buwan ay Hila-hila ng Gula-gulanit na
Ulap’’ (2019) were chosen for the main lineup in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
His short film “Engkwento’’ was nominated at the FAMAS Awards in 2017. He
was part of Jun Lana’s Cinepanulat (2019), a screenwriting workshop, where
he won Best Jury for his screenplay. He was a fellow for drama at the IYAS
National Writer’s Workshop in 2020. He is currently taking an MFA in Creative
Writing at the De La Salle University.
REGINA DE VERA
Regina De Vera completed her MFA in Acting at The Juilliard School (2019),
where she was a recipient of the Raul Julia Memorial Scholarship in Drama
and the Juilliard Career Advancement Fellowship. Prior to Juilliard, she was a
resident actor of the Tanghalang Pilipino Actors’ Company, the Cultural Center
of the Philippines’ (CCP) resident theatre company for five years. She won
the 2013 Gawad Buhay! PHILSTAGE Award as “Outstanding Female Lead” for
her work as Portia in a Filipino adaptation of The Merchant of Venice. Huling
Haraya Nina Ischia at Emeteria is her professional directing debut.

Kiki Baento as Emeteria
Kiki Baento is a registered Civil Engineer from Mapua University and
a Senior Artist-Teacher of Philippine Educational Theater Association
(PETA). Her productions in PETA include Mga Kuwento Ni Lola Basyang as
Lola Basyang, A Game of trolls, Arbol De Fuego, William, FnL, Pamana, D’
Wonder Twins of Boac, Rated:PG and as an assistant stage manager, Rak
of Aegis, Care Divas and Charot!. She became part of the PUM festival in
Mindulle Theater in Korea featuring her original one man show Dog Peach,
and was part of Kin-Ball, an international collaboration with Kirari Fujimi
Theater in Japan. Her other productions include Tanghalang Pilipino’s
Stageshow, Virgin Labfest’s Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady, Isang
Daan, Labor Room, Bawal Tumawid Nakamamatay, Minsan May Pumara
Minsan Ma’y Pumara and Hermano Puli and productions in other independent theater groups. She also
directed several productions for Mapua Tekno Teatro. She is an actor for TV, film and commercials. A
versatile actor fluent in Fagalog. Kiki believes she’s an “African-American gay diva” in her past life.
Jovy Vieja as Ischia
Jovy Vieja is an Artist Teacher from Philippine Educational Theater
Association (PETA). A graduate from Mapua University with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Technical Communications. She was the president of the
university’s official theater group, Mapua Tekno Teatro, from 2012 to
2016.
When she graduated in college, she joined an independent theater
company, Yugto Theater Ensemble, with her friends. The group showcased
original works in different theater festivals such as Fringe Mnl, Karnabal,
and CCP’s Pasinaya Arts Festival.
She worked as an Actor, Stage Management, Stagehand, Costume Mistress, etc in various plays of
PETA and other production companies. Some of her notable works are with plays like Bombita by Tony
Perez, Mga Kuneho by Guelan Luarca, Agnoia by Liza Magtoto and more.
Julio Garcia as Binata
Julio Garcia is a Junior-Artist Teacher at Philippine Educational Theater
Association, Production Designer and a Freelance Actor for Film, TV
and Stage. His past productions includes DARNA cycle 1 (2022), PETA’s
NOLI-FILI SA MAKABAGONG PANAHON (2021), NANAY ISOG (2019), PETA
LAB PRODUCTIONS (2017-2019) and various productions at Mapua Tekno
Teatro (2009-2015).

GEORGE VAIL KABRISTANTE
George Vail Kabristante is a film, TV, and stage director. He co-founded Balintataw
Film & Theater Arts with Marcelino Cavestany, PhD. that went on to produce some
feature films.He was a writing fellow to the Annual Silliman Univ. Writers Workshop,
Dumaguete City; and Palihang Aurelio Tolentino, spearheaded by Nick Tiongson.He
edits the entertainment & lifestyle section of Saksi Ngayon tabloid; writes a regular
lifestyle and entertainment column for Manila Times, and lectures at Manila Times
College of Journalism & Broadcasting.
As a member of the Writer’s Bloc, ‘Bienvenuta Al Lido De Venezia’ is his fifth play
scheduled for staging at this year’s 2022 Annual Virgin Labfest (VLF) – Year 17 at the
Cultural Center of the Phil. (CCP).
The rest of his plays staged in the past VLFs were, ‘My Padir Is An OCW’; ‘Ang
Kwento Ng Menginga Ng New York City Na Kamukha Ng Bee-Stung Lips Ni Julia

ANTONETTE GO
Antonette Go (Toni Go) is a theater actor, facilitator and a filmmaker. She’s currently
an Actors Company Senior Member of Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident theater
company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. She’s a three-time PHILSTAGE
Gawad Buhay nominee and Aliw Award nominee for “Female Featured Performance
in a Play” in a Filipino adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2016) directed
by Carlos Siguion-Reyna, a Filipino translation of The Crucible (2017) directed by
Dennis Marasigan, and a Filipino translation of Of Mice and Men (2019) directed
by Carlos Siguion-Reyna. She recently participated in Toyooka Theater Festival and
the 9th Theater Olympics headed by Suzuki Tadashi in the production Tokyo Notes
International Version, written and directed by Oriza Hirata (2020).

Tex Ordoñez-De Leon as Viola
TEX ORDOÑEZ-DE LEON was a member of Tanghalang Pilipino’s Actors’
Company where she played various roles for plays like Paglayang
Minamahal, Macbet, Crime and Punishment, Krimen at Parusa,
Isangdaang Awit Ni Mary Helen Fee, Ang Sinungaling, Ang Pagpatay Kay
Luna, Ilustrado, Pinoy Agonistes and Carmen. She was part of long running
projects like Magnificat and Nasaan si Hesus?, under the directorship of
the late Nestor U. Torre. She was also part of the cast recordings of both
musicales. She was part of the cast of Dreamgirls (Lorelle Robinson)
and In The Heights (Daniela), both for Atlantis Productions. She played
Valentina for Ballet Philippines’ Darna. She was also part of the opening
team of Hong Kong Disneyland. She was the only Filipina who lead the cast of Around The World
In 80 Days by ABA Productions also in Hong Kong. She had a chance to be featured in concerts of
local artists like Martin Nievera and Ogie Alcacid and recorded the theme song of the movie, Mano
Po entitled Ako’t Ikaw with Gary Valenciano. She also did a duet with the late Nolyn Cabahug in the
Album, Ang Misteryo ng Liwanag. She received the ‘Female Featured Performance In A Musicale’ award

Jonathan Tadioan as Maximo
Jonathan Tadioan a.k.a TAD is currently a senior member of Tanghalang
Pilipino Actors Company. 12 time Philstage Gawad buhay nominee, 2 time
Aliw Award nominee, Broadway Philippines nominee and Leaf Awards
nominee. He is part of the team that went in Shanghai, China to represent
the Philippines in the Asian contemporary theater festival in 2007.
Also went in Beijing,China in 2014 to represent the Philippines in the
International Theater Olympics. And in 2018 he directed “Nang dalawin
ng pag-ibig si Juan Tamad” as the Philippine representative for the 12th
World Theater Congress in Moscow, Russia.
Lhorvie Nuevo as Charice
Lhorvie Nuevo is an actor, artist-facilitator and a dreamer. She has been
a member of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Resident Theater
Company - Tanghalang Pilipino (TP) Actors Company since 2013. For the
past 8 years, she has played a variety of roles in Tanghalang Pilipino’s
season productions. Her joy in portraying characters has brought her roles
such as Khadaffy Janjalani in Batang Mujahideen directed by Guelan
Luarca, where she was cited “Outstanding Female Featured Performance
in a Play” in the prestigious PHILSTAGE Gawad Buhay (2020) and
nominated “Best Featured Actress in a Play” in the Aliw Awards (2021).
Her work as Mary Warren in Ang Pag-uusig (The Crucible) directed by
Dennis Marasigan and Karling in Katsuri (Of Mice and Men) directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna earned
her nominations for “Outstanding Female Featured Performance in a Play” in the 10th and 12th
PHILSTAGE Gawad Buhay Awards.

DUSTIN CELESTINO
Dustin Celestino is a filmmaker, composer, screenwriter, and playwright.
In 2020, his series “Philippine Gothic: Habang Buhay” was selected as one of
the finalists to compete in the CineFilipino Film Festival 2020 (postponed due to
Covid-19).
In 2019, he was selected to compete in the Cinema One Originals Film Festival
2019, as the writer and director of “Utopia” (2019) for which he was nominated in
2 categories: Best Director and Best Screenplay. The film won the festival’s coveted
SPECIAL JURY PRIZE.
In 2018, his Series Treatment and Pilot Episode, “Per Kilo” was selected as a TOP 10
FINALIST IN ASIA, as part of the 2018 HOOQ Filmmakers Guild.
From 2017 to 2019 he has won the TOP PRIZE three times in the Carlos Palanca
Awards for his plays, “Ang Duyan ng Magiting” (“The Cradle of the Brave”), “Ang
Pangahas na si Pepe Rodriguez” (“The Malevolent Pepe Rodriguez”), and his English
play, “The Story of this Father.”
His plays have also been featured in the Virgin Labfest every year since his debut
play, “Mga Eksena sa Buhay ng Kontrabida” was staged in the 2018 edition of the
festival.
He has received the DLSU Certificate of Excellence four times from the DLSU Annual
Literary and Visual Arts Awards for his works, “Bugaw” (2003), “The Remedy” (2003),
“A Case of Worms” (2004), and “Felis Domisticus Lycanthropy” (2004).
Lastly, Dustin is an alumni of the Found Story School of Filmmaking, the Ricky Lee
Screenwriting Workshop, HOOQ Filmmakers’ Guild, the Clever Minds Inc. Writer’s Lab,
and the Silliman National Writers Workshop.
GUELAN LUARCA
Guelan Luarca is a published playwright and translator, actor and director for the
stage. He has twice won First Prize in the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for
Literature for his one-act plays “Mga Kuneho” and “Bait,” which both premiered at
the Virgin Labfest. He recently adapted and directed Desaparesidos, based on the
novel by Lualhati Bautista (cited in the Best Theater of the Decade by The Philippine
Daily Inquirer) about the underground struggle during the Marcos dictatorship,
and an adaptation of Mike de Leon’s film Batch 81, under the title AKO: Alpha
Kappa Omega (cited as Best Original Filipino Full-length Material in 2019 by The
Philippine Daily Inquirer). He last directed Malou Jacob’s Batang Mujahideen for
Tanghalang Pilipino, about the Abu Sayyaf conflict in Mindanao. He also recently won
the Philstage Gawad Buhay! Award for Best Translation for William Shakespeare’s
Coriolano (2019), which was staged by Tanghalang Pilipino under the direction of
Carlos Siguion-Reyna. He teaches Directing, Shakespearean Performance, Playwriting,
and Theater Theory at the Fine Arts Department, Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila
University. He is the current artistic director of Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-
running college theater company in the Ateneo.

Basti Artadi as Ben
Sebastian “Basti” Artadi is the multiple award-winning vocalist of
Philippine rock band Wolfgang. In his spare time Basti has been writing
and producing his own material, releasing Everybody Knows That the Dice
are Loaded in 2013 and the follow up Phantom Maker in 2019 a collection
of Pop and Rock songs.
In 2016 he took some time to immerse himself in some new projects.
Having his first painting exhibit resulting in a sold out show and also
taking on one of his most exciting projects playing the coveted role of
St. Jimmy in the Philippine Production of Green Days American Idiot,
garnering critical acclaim for his portrayal.
He is currently working on a new album entitled Black on Black, Blood on White which will return him
to his harder rock roots.
Xander Soriano as Alex
Huling nakita sa entablado si Xander sa produksyong “Marat/Sade”
ng Dulaang UP Laboratoryo bilang Jean-Paul Marat noong 2019. Noong
2021, naging bahagi siya sa online na pagtatanghal ng “Tahanan,”
isang proyekto ng Japan Foundation, Manila. Para sa VLF, nagbasa siya
para sa ilang staged reading ng mga bagong gawa ng mga VLF Fellows.
Siya rin ang nagdisenyo ng tunog at musika ng “Ang Sugilanon ng
Kabiguan ni Epefania.” Kasalukuyan siyang isang freelance writer at
property manager.

PhD in Performance Studies program in the Philippines!
The PhD in Performance Studies is designed for students to immerse themselves
in the epistemic and methodological traditions of Euro-American, Asian, and Phil-
ippine theatre, oral studies, rhetoric and performance scholarship, as well as to
identify specific trajectories of individual and interdisciplinary research projects.
