Ketika berlatih, ia membayangkan dirinya terbang ke angkasa dan memandang ayamayam di bawahnya. Ia membayangkan dirinya terbang melewati kawanan burung gereja dan kawanan burung walet. “Wow!” seru burungburung itu. “Seekor ayam yang bisa terbang!" 9/19
” Wus wus wus. Daisy mengepakkan sayapnya setiap hari. 10/19
Ia hampir terangkat dari tanah, tetapi menjejak kembali. 11/19
“Aku tidak akan bisa terbang!” tangis Daisy pada ibunya. “Mereka benar, Bu.” “Daisy, kamu berbeda dari mereka. Mereka tidak mau terbang, tetapi kamu mau, ‘kan? Kamu pasti bisa,” kata ibunya. 12/19
Esoknya, Daisy memanjat kandang ayam dan sampai di atasnya. Wus wus wus. Ia mengepakkan sayapnya berkali-kali, lalu melompat dari atap kandang sambil terus mengepakkan sayapnya dan …. 13/19
Buk! Ayam-ayam lain tertawa terbahak-bahak. “Hahaha! Sudah kami bilang, ayam tidak bisa terbang!” 14/19
Namun, esok harinya, Daisy malah memanjat lebih tinggi sampai ke atas genting. Wus wus wus. Daisy mengepakkan sayapnya. 15/19
Ia melompat dari atas genting sambil terus mengepakkan sayapnya dan …. 16/19
Ia terbang! Angin di bawah sayapnya berembus semakin kencang dan ia terbang semakin tinggi! Kawanan burung gereja dan kawanan burung walet kompak berkata, “Luar biasa! Ada ayam terbang!” 17/19
