1
Rudolf, the reindeer, lived alone in the
North Pole. His stone house was in the
woods, far away from any villages. He
always felt lonely.
2
Every day he woke up early in the
morning, took his shovel and went out to
clean the snow in front of the house. It
was a tiring chore.
3
Then, he went into the house, made
himself some hot cocoa and enjoyed it by
the fireplace. Afterwards, he went to
bed.
4
Every single night a strong earthquake
shook his house, but ...
5
... Rudolf was so tired that he never
woke up.
6
The next morning he used to wake up early
clean, tidy his little house and follow
his daily routine.
7
However, on Christmas Eve, when he woke
up, he couldn’t find his shovel. He
searched for it all day long, but he had
no luck.
8
That night he went to bed feeling
desperate and disappointed.
9
To his surprise there was no earthquake!
Instead he could hear bells ringing. He
went out and saw Santa Claus who told
him: Rudolf, with your nose so bright,
would you guide my sleigh tonight? Rudolf
said yes and Santa gave him a new shovel
as a Christmas present.
From then on, every Christmas Eve they
gave out the presents to all children
around the world.
